Healing Kirlia up he thanked her for a good job but there was another crackle of electricity. Looking up for another Mareep he scooped Kirlia up as five Mareep came out and surrounded them. Even though Noivern was part flying because he was part dragon the electric moves wouldn't be as effective against him. Sending the dragon Pokemon out he wanted to make sure that Noivern would use his normal move that would hit them all at once. Because he switched Kirlia out the five Pokemon attacked Noivern but he held on.

Healing Noivern up from the small amount of damage that he received he barely had time to return him as another pack of Mareep appeared. Noivern understood what would happen and took the first round of hits in order to help Kirlia gain the experience to get stronger. The first round of attacks seem to be more to make Noivern weaker so they could collectively take him down. It was interesting to see the wild Pokemon working together like this. Despite the growls and the use of cotton to lower his speed Noivern flapped his wings creating a Boomburst that hit all the wild Pokemon sending them flying and defeating them. Kirlia cooed thanking Noivern for his help.

Healing Noivern up Simon waited but it seemed that was it for Mareep so he returned the flying Pokemon before he and Kirlia swept the tall grass some more. There was a sound of branches and leaves breaking under foot so Simon picked up and jumped back with Kirlia in his arms. It was a good thing too since out of the tall grass came, "Tauros the wild bull Pokemon. After heightening its will to fight by whipping itself with its three tails, it charges at full speed." The Tauros stomped his hooves getting ready for a fight. Jumping out of Simon's arms Kirlia was ready to battle holding out her hands as a psychic wave knocked back the bull Pokemon. However the Pokemon did something strange, laying down to rest and fully heal.

Simon caught the Tauros because he wanted a team of single evolution Pokemon because he felt they were unassuming. Worried that other trainers were less likely to use them because they didn't have one or two more evolutions. Then again it looked like that Tauros he caught had a friend who came out of the tall grass as well. Once again Kirlia was ready to fight jumping from Simon's arms. "Kirl lia, ki, Kirlia, Lia kiki" she said and Simon sent out Dusknoir to translate. "She says she thinks she's ready to take on all the Pokemon from here on out but wants to thank Noivern for his help." Simon smiled, "I believe in you Kirlia, let's start off with a psychic."

Dusknoir remained out to cheer Kirlia on with Simon and once the Tauros was defeated and whooshed away to be healed and released Kirlia came over and got healed by Simon. Suddenly there was a rustling in the grass. The amount of noises allowed Simon to figure out that it was yet another horde of Pokemon. Returning Dusknoir he sent out Noivern who started forward but Simon waved him back. "Kirlia is going to try to take them on, on her own but she wanted to show how strong she has become." "Kikir,"she said agreeing and Noivern nodded landing next to Simon and watching as yet another horde of Mareep appeared from the grass. It was a long, tough battle but Simon and Noivern cheered her on and a super potion and full restore later she had won.

After healing Kirlia up Simon knelt to her asking if she wanted to call it a day. She shook her head because she could tell she was so close to evolving and she wanted to reach that form. She could rest when it was over. Yawning she shook her head to prepare herself when several things came out of the grass. Readying herself for a horde they were both surprised when six Pokemon came together as one, of course an Exeggcute. Simon had two of them himself, one was a rare coloring and the other would evolve eventually. Ralts got into position when Simon called her back. Not matter how valiantly she had fought Kirlia was defeated by the sheer amount of Pokemon. If it was just one Wingull she would have easily won, in fact she proved that by defeating two, almost three of them. Returning Kirlia Simon sent out Aron to try to take out the remaining Pokemon. Wingull's flying moves were super ineffective against Aron however their water attacks would be super effective, taking the risk Aron wanted to avenge his friend. Aron got so close to beating the horde getting them down to a single Pokemon. Still Simon didn't want to send out one of his more powerful Pokemon so he held the last Pokemon's ball to his lips. "They're depending on you now,"he said returning Aron and sending out Shroomish.

And Shroomish you really came on in a pinch, good job everyone." They all cheered and gave a group hug with Simon. Returning everyone but Kirlia Simon smiled at her. Once she was done with it she jumped away from the water as a "Slowpoke the dopey Pokemon. It lazes vacantly near water. If something bites its tail, it won't even notice for a whole day. It is always lost in thought, but no one knows what it is thinking about.""Okay Kirlia let's get it to think about battling," Kirlia nodded and raised her hands to attack. Since it was part water grass leaf was the better choice, especially since the other part was psychic so psychic wouldn't be effective.

For now Simon was sending back Gardevoir and Shroomish in order to evolve some Pokemon with stones as he wanted. Instead he went ahead and took out his own Mareep to raise him up, maybe start surfing since water Pokemon would be weak to Mareep. Also he decided to get Stunky, that was after he removed an Eevee and evolved her into a Vaporeon just so that she could be ready when Aron fully evolved and he could train up Vaporeon, Flareon and Jolteon all at once. For now his leveling team was Aron, Mareep and Stunky and that was fine. He might not stick around here to train anymore, instead he'd travel places to locate new Pokemon to catch. Heading outside into the tall grass to cut through and get to the exit he found himself once again surrounded by Mareep. To try to get through them as quick as possible Aron used Superpower even though it would lower his attack and defense each time he used it.

Stunky jumped in to help finish off the Mareep after Aron fainted and when the battle was over Simon returned to the Pokemon Center to heal Aron and Stunky up to full Health. As he sat down at one of the tables Simon considered traveling all over Kalos to fill up his Pokedex of his home region. Then he could train with a purpose so his next stop was going to be Santalune City so he could catch a Bunnelby, maybe another Ralts so that he could get the male final form of one. Heading outside he sent out Noivern and away they went.

The boat ride back to Coumarine City was for the most part uneventful. It was maybe a few hours or so later when Sebastian arrived back once more in the rather luxurious resort town. He saw the towering tree of a gym from a distance; dang that thing looked a lot taller from the outside.
Stepping off the boat he glanced around a moment in consideration. He’d need to head to the train station next to head back to Goldenrod, which meant a trip back to Lumiose City as well. Once he was back in Goldenrod, he’d have to temporarily detour through the forest to get to Bugsy –damn he wished he had fought that fellow first before region hopping- but then head along on what he found was a fairly linear path up to Ecruteak, then Olivine and finally on to Cianwood. It was a bit of travel for two days.
It was a damn good thing he’d slept so well.

Sebastian didn't waste any time getting a move on once his feet had found solid ground. Well, he tried not to anyways. There was something about being on the ocean that just caused one's legs to kind of forget that they were solid matter and took on the form of mild jelly. Luckily it didn't last too long and soon he was moving quickly through the city and towards the connecting exit to North Lumiose. He was reciting in his head his exact course of action and what needed to be done. While he was on the train he'd look up the gym leaders and what they specialized in, much like he'd been doing all along. He wanted to get through them as quickly as possible after all. Luckily enough, his team was already fairly strong. Bugsy, judging by the name, wouldn't be too difficult if he had a clue and whoever was after that would hopefully, be simple as well.
Hopefully. He had to keep optimistic about this after all. If he couldn't beat a gym leader in a single go then he would just have to keep going and back track later. He kind of wanted to avoid that though...
