Maybe Simon would look for an area with actual electric Pokemon to train Cubone against so he got the full attention of the Pokemon battles. Right now he was battling an older man, Cubone was ready to fight but when Pidgeotto came out he stepped back as Noivern came out so it was flying verses flying. Cubone's ground attacks wouldn't effect the bird so Simon switched them out.

The next Pokemon out was "Chinchou the angler Pokemon. Chinchou lets loose positive and negative electrical charges from its two antennas to make its prey faint. This Pokemon flashes its electric lights to exchange signals with others." It was worrisome that this was an electric Pokemon but Noivern could strike quickly enough to avoid damage. If it was a new battle then Cubone would be able to but since it was split evenly it would be best to get through the battle.

The man was okay with it just wanting to train his team up as well. Having seen plenty of starter level Pokemon Simon was glad to see another fully evolved Pokemon. This one was, "Cacturne the scarecrow Pokemon. During the daytime, Cacturne remains unmoving so that it does not lose any moisture to the harsh desert sun. This Pokemon becomes active at night when the temperature drops."

The next Pokemon was, "Snorunt the snow hat Pokemon. Snorunt lives in regions with heavy snowfall. In seasons without snow, such as spring and summer, this Pokemon steals away to live quietly among stalactites and stalagmites deep in caverns." He'd seen one before but only when he caught Froslass so not that long. Simon could say that it proved when a Pokemon died they become a ghost except Snover normally evolves into Froslass after contact with a Dawn Stone so unless he went back and took a part the stone to see if there was an evolution stone remains under there he couldn't be sure. For now it was time to battle.

The final Pokemon was Yanma who buzzed around in circles eying Noivern. Before Noivern could attack Yanma buzzed and avoided the attack using a detection move. Pausing in the air Noivern unleashed another burst of air which knocked the bug Pokemon back and out. The older man nodded thoughtfully and returned his Pokemon. "Good job," Simon said to both Noivern and the other trainer. The man nodded and thanked Simon as well before returning Yanma and hurried off to heal his friends up.

It looked like an area where Pokemon were more around Cubone's level was around Shalour city. Maybe they should try in another region since that was only home to one type of electric Pokemon. Since he was looking for electric Pokemon he decided to go to Unova since there was a place there called Chargestone Cave so that probably meant a lot of electric Pokemon. Motioning for Noivern to come down Simon healed him up with a potion before climbing on and telling him where they were going next.

Takanobu let out a roar as he defeated the Slugma, easily the closest fight they’ve had since coming to Route 13. It was a close one but he knew that they would be able to take it. He was enjoying his time training out here, most of the Pokemon had resistances to his regular moves, this would get him used to fighting enemies who were strong against him. It was going well and he felt his team was growing in spades.
