Landing in Laverre Town Simon returned Noivern and looked around at the others in the quaint town. He had spent so many hours training Pokemon here only to be defeated not once but twice at the fairy gym. This time however he might have a fighting chance. As he stepped out into the town and took a deep breath of fresh air Simon considering his next steps when an alert sounded on his Pokenav which alerted him that there was a new event. Opening the mail a hologram of Jirachi came up, it wasn't a real Pokemon just a graphic for the email. Apparently there was a summer festival going on called Tanabata on the Sevii Islands. The little Pokemon flew about explaining the fun and games that would occur as well as prizes. Nodding Simon closed the email and decided that he would love to check that out.

Since he wasn't going to train for now Simon decided to go back into the Pokemon Center and switch everyone up again. First off he decided that he would put Arbok away, in a sense. Replacing him once again with Tepig, deciding that since Pokemon gained some experience while traveling with each other than he can train up his starter Pokemon. Once everyone was ready he went outside with Noivern and took off to Island Two.

Arriving in Laverre Town Simon went into the Pokecenter, he liked his team however he did need to switch it up in order to have a team ideal for battle against Fairy Pokemon. That meant putting away Sableye, Litwick and Carbink for training later. He kept Noivern for flight and Greninja just in case along with Abomasnow, not super effective but not weak against the fairy type. That left a fire Pokemon for the Mawile that kept beating him and two poison Pokemon. His fire choice came down to Houndoom, who he was training solely for this purpose. Arbok and Muk were the choices for poison, he removed the shell bell from Arbok giving him a berry instead and the shell bell to Muk.

Feeling good about his team, the only Pokemon he should train up was Muk as he was twenty levels lower than Valerie's strongest Pokemon. Arbok wasn't as strong as the strongest but she would gain the levels battling Valerie's Pokemon herself. So for now Simon took back the Shell bell and handed over another Lucky Egg to Muk so they could train a bit more. Since he already had eaten back home Simon went out into the tall grass to search for some Pokemon to train. The first Pokemon to appear was "Shelmet the snail Pokemon. It evolves when bathed in an electric-like energy along with Karrablast. The reason is still unknown." Sending Muk out they got ready to battle.

Returning Muk since Simon was so close to a Pokecenter Simon just went and healed him up. It brought him to full health and woke him up. Returning back out to the tall grass Simon couldn't help but chuckle as another Shelmet appeared. It was an interesting Pokemon and the evolved form was a Pokemon he wanted but to have to trade it for a specific Pokemon was really odd. So for now it was just another battle as he sent Muk out to battle again.

After healing Muk up Simon started to return him when there was a rustling sound and they found themselves surrounded by the scorpion Pokemon known as, "Skorupi the scorpion Pokemon. It grips prey with its tail claws and injects poison. It tenaciously hangs on until the poison takes." Since they were poison as well Muk wouldn't be a good choice so he was going to trade him out for Abomasnow who was weak against the attacks but whose blizzard may take them all out at once.

Another Weepinbell appeared after Simon healed up Abomasnow which was a good switch after all since he was able to take the hits and double it back at them. Sending Muk back out he decided that if a Bellsprout appeared, the first stage, he would catch it and train it up alongside weed. Until then though Muk rushed to attack the plant Pokemon.

Once again Simon found himself surrounded by more Skorupi. Same plan as before Muk was out first before he traded him for Abomasnow however there were a few strikes against Muk as a few of these Pokemon seemed to know the move Pursuit but it was too late to avoid the attacks.

Sending Muk back out Simon healed up both Pokemon. Returning the Icy rock to Abomasnow and returning him Simon looked down at Muk. The Pokenav told him that Muk had reached level fifty. With the lucky egg in hand it might be okay to try to get him to level sixty at least before taking on Valerie. Out of the tall grass came a Karrablast who was ready for a fight, luckily Muk was too.

This time it was a Skorupi on its own, not surrounded by four other Pokemon. The main reason Simon switched out Muk for Abomasnow was because the later had a move that could instantly defeat the horde. Muk could eventually as well but poison on poison would be a long, drawn out battle. That was one disadvantage was that Muk didn't have any other moves. Against one though he was plenty able to.

Another Shelmet appeared and Simon considered catching one but then he'd have to somehow locate someone with a Karrablast. Then somehow convince them to trade so the Pokemon could evolve then trade back. He could put it up on the boards on the Poke net but that would be time consuming. For now Simon just had Muk attack and defeat it.
