Entering the Pokemon Center the girl performed the usual tasks. Misa placed her Pokeballs on the counter, asking the Nurse Joy to take good care of the Pokemon. She proceeded to take a seat in the building while the bird Pokemon waited outside. There was only one more region left but it was supposed to have the rest of the Pokemon eggs. Now although she was nearly done she still wasn’t at that 50th Egg. Then she would need to zip back to her nest in the Kanto region to fix the issue there. For Pokemon to steal….it seemed so strange to her but the Lapras there might have some answers.

There was still some time before she would need to make that journey back to Pallet Town. After all, the reason she went there in the first place was to train her teammates. Then she would need to turn her fossils into actual Pokemon too. They weren’t going to be super strong but they had potential to be really strong Pokemon. Plus since there were Pokemon in her arsenal that had potential to evolve, well that meant more of her Pokedex entries could be filled up too. Take for instance her Vaporeon that had evolved recently. Had she not gone on this egg hunt then maybe she wouldn’t have had one of Eevee’s evolved versions.

Trying not to let the weirdness of that conversation get to her too much, Ajicka put her communicator away and looked around. She moved to go find her pokemon, her pace quickening. It was occurring to her that this would be her forty-second egg, which meant that she would only need eight more -- all the ones in Alola -- before she could go exchange them. Which was good, because as the sun was getting closer to setting, she was pretty sure she only had tomorrow to get them. But she was determined to run the night through, and get all she could. As Scarlett flew through the air towards Pokemon Village, she resumed her train of thought. It wasn't that she didn't know how she'd like to reward Zak, the tricky thing was finding something that he would actually find rewarding. For all their flirting, there were still some weird times where Zak would suddenly pull back and be almost... Frustrated with her, for no reason whatsoever. Last time she'd offered rewards for a friendly competition, he'd taken it and stopped talking to her for months. It had been like hell, hell that she didn't plan on going through again. She wanted to tell him as much, take back her promise of reward, but it was a bit late for that now, and she was pretty sure Zak wouldn't appreciate revoking any chance at rewards even if he claimed it to be unnecessary.

...But she wanted it. Whatever it was. It was her reward. He promised to give it to her if there was another opportunity. Scarlett scowled. Arceus dammit... No, she'd think of something... Something simple, for a simple task that he didn't even seem to want any rewards from. She could even ask him what he wanted, as he had done for her, and if he had any complaints, she certainly had a whole case against any of them. She felt like she was riding some emotional roller coaster. One minute, everything was great, he made her smile and laugh and feel attracted to him, the next minute he's brush her off and infuriate her. They'd flirt, then argue. Make passes at each other, then not talk for weeks. Part of it was exciting and worth the frustration when things were good, but it made her all the more pissed off when things weren't.

Scarlett landed in pokemon village, letting Vandal out to help her search around for the egg. This felt more like a traditional egg hunt, with the field of tall grass as far as the eye could see. It would take some time and she needed to focus, but it was hard to do that when Zak was floating around the back of her mind. Speaking of which, she got another text from him.

She needed to keep moving. She could't afford to let him catch up to her. Not that she didn't have a back up plan just in case, but... As competitive as he was, so was she. So she refused to let him get the better of her, at least not without making an attempt to fight back. Thankfully, Vandal had already managed to find the egg and they could move on to the next location, Alola, the last region where she needed eggs. She was hitting the home stretch, and that motivated her even more to finish this quickly.
