Sela's Outfit: Raaaaaaawr!
The whole drive there had been quiet, and she was fine with that. She didn't want to talk anyways. It just made her feel weird to see her daddy all cozied up with someone else. Hugging was fine, that was normal; to her anyways. But...Well she didn't know how to describe it. It was all so uncomfortable and she wanted things back the way they were. She wanted her mommy home. She wanted to do things with the both of them. She wanted to see her mommy and daddy smile at each other again. She was getting so used to it all that she just wanted it all back! All of it was gone now. What had her mommy done that was so bad to cause all this? Sela sniffled as she looked out the window and watched the world speed by in the cold, dew covered city. Her eyes were already starting to gloss over with the tears she wanted to shed, but she didn't want to cry in front of a total stranger. He may ask her what was wrong if she did that. She didn't want to talk about it; she barely wanted to talk about it with her daddy.
Rubbing her eyes vigorously, she looked up at him when he opened the door for her. Everyone seemed so...upset lately. Her. Her daddy. Her mommy. And her daddy's friends. Unbuckling herself, she slid out of her seat and heard the sound of her bare feet slapping against the cold ground. Her toes wiggled a little and as she looked up, felt the wind brush blue locks against her cheekbones. Silently she followed him up to the door and waited until he opened it for her to walk inside. It was warmer in here then out there.
Nervously she stood in the middle of his store as he walked around. Casting casual glances at everything, she fidgeted with the tool skirt of her costume. She wanted out of this thing too. Something he said in the car rang in her ears. Her daddy would have a hissy fit? Like when she threw a tantrum? Why would her daddy get so upset over coming to the candy store with his friend? Was it because she'd be eating candy first thing in the morning? She was pretty darn hungry after not eating yesterday. But she just didn't understand what the big deal was. It's not like she was in danger or anything. She heard him speak but refused to look at him, still in thought about why her daddy would get so upset about her being at a candy store. The reason of her disappearing without a word going completely over her head. When her brain finally came back to the real world, she heard him call himself Trusty again and finally looked up at him. There was the tiniest hints of a smile curling at the corner of her lips at the Lady and the Tramp reference again. Just like that movie, things always work out. Just like all her movies, it's only the end when everyone's happy. No one was happy yet, so it wasn't the end.
Taking the basket from him, she modded and cantered around the store, looking for all the sour treats she could find and filling her bag with them. |

It felt weird not having Dime here with him. He was as much part of the shop as he was, and to not have his little buddy here felt strange. It was cold outside though, so it was better that he stayed home. The shop would probably be closed all day because of how crappy he felt. He should make sure to let Rylee know at some point. Right now, he just wanted to relax and try to get his mind off of the horrors of the night before. Finn was actually relieved that Bree ended up not going with him. She would have been in too much danger for his liking and he never would have forgiven himself if something more were to happen to her.
Sitting in his chair behind the counter, Finn sighed as he leaned against the counter. He was exhausted and it was evident on his face. The bags under his eyes were getting darker and darker the longer he forced himself to stay awake and he knew, if he didn't want to put Sela in danger they needed to make this fast. It wasn't just Ty freaking out that he was worried about. With his lack of sleep, over exertion of emotions and pain, he could fall asleep at the wheel, see something that wasn't there, or even have his leg spasm to the point of flooring the gas pedal. He didn't want to be responsible for hurting an innocent child; especially his best friend's daughter. He was already going through enough with Lillian cheating on him. There was another sigh that escaped the ex athlete's lips. He wouldn't even know how to feel if he were going through the same thing. He felt for the guy. If it ever happened to him, he might go crazy.
"Sela, are you almost done?" he asked, his voice cheerful even in the way of his drained emotions. It wasn't just his emotions, it was everything. Everything was just drained right out of him. He had no strength for anything at this point. Sitting up a little, he stared at the toddler waiting for her reply.

As Sela wandered around the candy store, she let her eyes roved over every single piece of candy available. As she searched, she wondered if her daddy liked candy too. Maybe if she got some for him then he would feel better. She didn't like seeing her daddy so sad; it made her feel sad too. Was it wrong of her to want everyone to be happy? She may not understand what's got everyone so sad, but they didn't have to be. They could be happy, she just knew it. Most of all, she knew her daddy could be happy. She wanted her daddy to be happy. He said that he spent time trying to fix himself, right? Maybe this time, he wouldn't have to try and be happy alone. She could help him. She could be there for him. She was there for him no matter what; he was her daddy and she loved him. But he was the adult and she was the child and he would try to make it seem like his problems were no big deal, just like her mommy did.
Hearing Finn, she looked up at him briefly before turning to her bag. It had gotten pretty full. She didn't know what her daddy liked so she got a bit of everything. Originally her plan had just been to get the sour candy, but her drive to make her daddy feel better caused her hands to just wildly pick things up. Looking back up, she nodded slowly and padded over to the counter, stepping on her tip toes to peer over the top. "Mister Finn..." she started, blushing and dropping back to the balls of her feet to look away from him. "How-...How do you think I can help my daddy not be sad?" |

Finn watched as she came up to the counter and was just barely able to push herself up enough to look at him over the counter. She was still too short to actually look over the counter, but she was trying her hardest. He blinked stupidly as she called him 'Mister Finn'. She was a cute kid. Hopefully his would be just as cute. And honestly, the more he hung out with Sela, the more he wanted a little girl of his own. He began to silently pray that his child was a a girl. He wouldn't mind playing dress up, or having tea parties with her, or whatever she was into; as long as it meant seeing his baby girl smile. Hell, he'd probably be the one teaching her to play video games!
Giving her a lopsided smile, admiring that she wanted to help her father feel happy again, he slowly stood up. Walking around the counter, he began to usher her towards the door so they could go back home. "Well I think you can start by offering him some of that candy of yours. Wow! Look at it all!" he chuckled as he looked at the bag full to the brim with candy. Walking out the door with her in toe, he locked the store back up and unlocked the car. Opening the back door for her, he closed it once she was inside and climbed into the driver's seat. "I think the next thing you should do is go home, give him the biggest, bestest hug you could possibly give him, and tell him you love him. You're dad's going through a tough time right now so you just gotta be patient with him."
Finn started the car and began the drive back home.

Following with his eyes, she watched him walk around the counter with that strange smile of his. What did it mean? Following after him, she turned towards the door as he ushered her towards it, walking just a few steps behind him. Looking down at the bag, she did get some of her candy for him. She hoped he liked it. If not, she would feel kinda bad that she wasn't able to do more for him. She didn't like seeing either of her parents so unhappy.
Stepping outside, she felt the wind brush by her again, taking her little monster hood off her head. Her blue hair was pulled free and blown around her neck, just inches above her shoulders. Getting into the car, she looked out the window and thought about what he said. How can she comfort her daddy when everyone else was getting in the way? Everyone just kept butting in when she wanted to be the one to help. She wanted to be the one. He said she could help by smiling, but he was too busy finding comfort with other people that she couldn't. She was here too ya know.

Ryan was heading into Sucre's Refinement when he heard his phone buzz. He quickly grabbed it and checked his messages. Her concern made him chuckle slightly, he wasn't upset or anything after all. The brunette male stopped at the doorway to the shop and made his reply to the woman's text.
To Lexi:
Don't fret over it! I was just worried that's all. Why would I be mad?
How about this, I'll buy breakfast and you can tell me why you ran off. Just for some closure lol. But right now I'm at Sucre's Refinements if you want to meet me there.
After he finished the text, Ryan hit send and sighed in relief. He was glad that she was Ok, more than relieved actually. But he didn't want her to feel bad by admitting that he had searched for her all night. It was better this way right? He shrugged off the thought and made his way around the store, looking at all of the candy for sale. His sweet tooth was itching and before he knew it Ryan was carrying a basket full of candy while searching for more. He really did let his wants control his life huh. While he was buying, the male wondered if he should get Lexi some candy too. After all there Halloween was ruined thanks to a blackout on the island. He nodded to himself and grabbed some candy that he figured she would like, although it was mostly guesses. But hey, it was the thought that counted right?

↪ Leaving her house, Lexi walked down the large hill that Pasadena was on and headed down towards the town. She had been to the candy store so much she knew the path to the store by heart. As she got closer to the store, she could feel a blush forming on her face before she shook her head a little bit. She was behaving ridiculously, Ryan was just a friend. Sure she might have a bit of a crush on him, but still. The raven haired female then stopped in her tracks as her blush darkened. Did she have a crush on Ryan? She never really formed crushes on people on the past because everyone would be rude and bully her in some way. Shaking her head again, she huffed a little bit before she continued walking, a smile appearing on her face as she spotted the candy store. She didn't see the male outside, so she placed her hands on the door and pushed, hearing the ding of the bell, she then looked around a bit, a little disappointed she didn't see Finn or Dime, but she knew that Finn was probably with his wife at the moment. Bright blue eyes then spotted Ryan. Lexi's blush darkened a little bit before she shook her head again and headed towards the male. "H-Hey." She said softly as she looked up at him.

Ryan was so lost in his candy collecting that he almost didn't notice the girl quietly approach him. He turned his gaze to the Raven haired girl and smiled brightly. Heya! Oh here I got you this! He said before handing her some chocolate. He wasn't sure what she liked so it was simple Milk chocolate. The males eyes naturally examined Lexi from head to toe just to make sure that she hadn't gotten hurt the night before. You look great. He said, giving her a compliment in an attempt to excuse his rude stares. He didn't want her to think that he was perversely staring at her, what kind of gentleman would do that? Just to be sure she wasn't hurt though, Ryan placed a hand on her head and raised an eyebrow. You didn't get hurt while running around in the dark last night right? Sorry if I'm being a worrywart. He said with a sheepish smile. He felt like an overprotective parent, making sure that the female wasn't hiding some sort of injury. Ryan confirmed to himself that she was OK and sighed in relief. Alright so where do you want to go? Then you can explain why you decided to run off. Granted I'm not upset or anything. He said, still not admitting what he had actually done for majority of the night.
Ryan let out a yawn and wiped his eyes softly, he didn't get much sleep of course but he figured that he would survive. The brunette scratched his head lazily before walking over to the counter to check out. He bought all of the candy in his basket, surmounting to a payment that he wouldn't like to share. After that he turned to Lexi and smiled. Alright all ready to go! He exclaimed, walking over to the front door.

↪ Lexi looked at the male before she blinked and glanced down at the thing he placed in her hand. A smile appeared on her face as she looked at the chocolate bar. "Thanks!" She said as she grinned up at him. When the raven haired girl noticed the male looking her over, she felt her face heat up just a little. "Huh? Oh! Um! Thanks!" She said. "You... look nice as well." She said, her blush darkening a bit. 'Idiot!' She thought to herself, resisting the urge to facepalm. Shaking her head a little bit, she then chuckled softly as he placed a hand on her head. Looking up at him before she shook her head. "No. I didn't get hurt." She said before she stared into his eyes. "It's okay." She chuckled, though, on the inside, she felt warm and fuzzy, glad that somebody was worried about her and he wasn't one of her family!
Nodding her head a little bit, she then tapped her chin as she thought. "Well. Moonbucks has a good breakfast selection. Or maybe Mickey C's?" She said, not entirely sure as to where they could go, but then again, she wasn't really too concerned about where they went as long as the two of them could sit and talk to each other. She was immensely glad that the male wasn't upset with her, she didn't know what she would have done if he was mad at her!
Noticing him yawn, she then tilted her head. Had he not gotten much sleep? She instantly felt bad, wondering if he had stayed up all night looking for her. Lexi then noticed that Ryan was no longer by her side. Looking around a bit confused, she then hurried over to the counter before looking up at him and smiling. "Okay!" She said as she followed after him.

Ryan tapped his lower lip thoughtfully as the girl gave him a list of places they could go to. Unable to decide, Ryan pulled out a quarter and smiled at the female. Heads Moonbucks, Tails Mickey C's He said while placing the quarter over his right thumb. With a quick flick the piece of currency flew up in the air, spinning and spinning. It quickly descended soon after, being caught by the brunette male. He covered it with his free hand for only a moment before looking. It was tails! Well then I guess it's Mickey C's! He said putting the quarter back into his pocket. It wasn't the most rational way of thinking but he was oddly in a good mood today. Even though he was dead tired he felt great! Weird huh? Ryan shrugged off the thought and lead the way out of the store and towards the restaurant. As the two were walking, Ryan turned his head back and got a last look at the candy store. I wonder who owns that nice shop... He mumbled, the words slipping out before he could stop them. But he did have a reason to know, he hardly knew anyone besides Lexi in the town yet, shouldn't he make more friends or acquaintances?

↪ Lexi looked at the male, her head tilted to the side a little bit before she smiled at the male, chuckling softly. "Okay." She said, watching him curiously before standing on the tips of her toes to look at the coin. "Yep!" She said as she tilted her head back a little to look up at him, a smile on her face. She then looked forward as they stepped out of the shop, her head tilting to the side just a little bit as she heard Ryan mumble something. "The owner of the shop is Finn. He lives in the house next door to mine. He and his wife are nice." She said, though, she didn't really know Finn's wife too much. She didn't even really know Finn outside of saying 'Hi' to him or striking up a small conversation whenever she stepped into the store. After Levi moved away, Ryan was really her only friend... she was such a pathetic person... Sighing softly, she shook her head a little bit before putting on a smile as she walked with the male.

"So you're still pretty new here, huh?" Antonio stepped inside the store, breathing in the candy coated air that it produced. "You have a favorite place yet?" no matter where he went, the beach would still always be his favorite place. That salt water, and salt water air, the sound of wave upon wave crashing onto the shore... it was the definition of peace. "But you followed your sister? That's pretty cool, at least that way you came here knowing at least one person." he himself didn't have any siblings, and even if he did he didn't know if he'd follow them. It wasn't as if he didn't think they wouldn't have a good relationship, but different life goals and all that. "That's actually pretty noble of you. You two must have a good relationship."
After those few words, Antonio turned his attention back to the shop, and more importantly its wares. "Welcome to Sucre's Refinements, where the products are almost as sweet as me." he winked at Jason, but couldn't fight back his own snorts at the bad joke. Rubbing the back of his head, he smiled lightly. "Eh, take your time. I definitely won't rush you." and with that reassurance, he moved to begin trailing down the aisles. Ah, see, this was the hard part: deciding what to get and how much of it he should buy. Of course, he knew how much he wanted, but he was an adult: his hard work and dedication to his job filled his wallet, not anyone else. So, he'd have to be smart about his spending. Of course, this was easier said than done. Especially when they offered... jawbreakers and more lollipops!? Whoo boy. Antonio mumbled an unintelligible string of sentences underneath his breath as he flexed his fingers and tried to exercise restraint. Candy... it really shouldn't have been this big of a weakness.

Jason nodded with a smile, it seems like everyone he's met has lived here for a while. At least there's plenty of people to get directions from if he's ever in any need of them. As for Antonio's next question, he hasn't been to many places.. The beach, Neon Lights, the museum.. the hospital too, but that's definitely not his favorite place. "Maybe the beach, but this place could definitely be my number one!" He said, as he excitedly scanned the aisles. Ah, so much candy, which ones should he buy? Ah, this store would be the best place on Earth if they had -- THEY HAVE IT. Quickly walking towards the gummy candy section, he saw what he was yearning for: Trolli sour neon gummy octopus candy! These things are the greatest! A lot of stores don't have these 8-legged candy! He is so getting, like, 4 bags of these things! You don't get in the way of him and his sweet tooth. And Rina's, two of the four bags will be for her. A bit of a present for her, since they haven't had this candy in years! Looking back at Antonio, he nodded. There would always be someone for him to talk to. "Yeah, we do. Ironically enough, we haven't been spending as much time as I would've liked." The reason why is lingering in the back of his head, like an occasional annoyance that he is. Wow, he was liking the guy yesterday, and now it just deteriorated. This is negative progress, but he doesn't care. Anybody but the redhead would've been better. Maybe not anybody, but still!
Jason was looking out for anymore rare candy when he heard his companion crack a pun, and that wink sent him over the edge. He began snickering, then outright laughing, jeez, puns are terrible. As he continued to go down the aisles, he smiled happily when Antonio said he could take his time. Thank goodness! Next thing ya know, he had picked up 2 chocolate candy bars, and was still looking for more. Someone better stop him soon!

Antonio's grin couldn't have gotten any wider when Jason said that he too liked the beach. The more time they spent together, the more it was revealed just how much in common they had. "Yeah, the beach is a pretty great place." he agreed, a bit too eagerly. "But, I guess around this time of the year most people wouldn't be too keen on visiting it." just a few more months, that's all he had to wait for. In a few months he could actually begin going to the beach to actually swim, instead of just walking along. "Heh. Be careful not to spend all your money here, Jason. You can't survive on candy alone." though that didn't he couldn't try. Besides, he was almost positive 'sugar' was on the food pyramid. The Hispanic plucked from his selections another bag of Blowpops-- gum inside a lollipop!? What a godsend-- and fiddled with the plastic, half tempted to just open it then... he'd still pay for it, of course. "Oh. Well, that's understandable. She must have her own things to do, as do you... I assume. Maybe you two can plan to have breakfast, or something, together." that's what everyone did in all the shows he watched, so why couldn't it be applied to real life?
Pleased that Jason could derive some amusement from his terrible pun/line, Antonio chuckled, and returned back to his final selections. Should he get a huge jawbreaker? Or play it safe and just get a medium? And just how many more Blowpops should he get. He already had two, but maybe five more wouldn't hurt? And, oh, oh, oh! Rock candy! Lime green eyes positively shined as they landed on the individually wrapped hardened sugar; that light increasing as he saw the price. 3 for a dollar... Ah, this was such a terrible place for him to be... Terribly wonderful. Finally, he settled on 6 rock candies, 3 lollipops, and 4 huge jawbreakers.
