Watching the cat, a smile appeared on her face. "You are a cute little thing aren't you?" She chuckled softly as she listened to him purr. She was totally going to try and convince her husband to let her get a cat. But how to do it? Hmm? A small smirk then played at her lips as she came up with an idea. She still owed him that surprise she promised to him for going to the ball with her, maybe after that, she would casually mention that she wanted a cat. It could work... right? Either way, she got to pet a cute kitten now, so she would be good for a while until she saw another cute animal.
She was so concentrated on petting the cat that she didn't notice the brunette male come from the back of the store. So when she jumped in surprise when he spoke, an embarrassed blush then quickly made it's way to her face. Just great... way to embarrassed herself! Looking at the male, she didn't get a chance to respond to his first question before he spoke again. "That would be me." She said as she smiled at him. "And you must be Finn, right? It's nice to meet you" She said.
As she looked at the male, she realized he looked familiar, but didn't know how... then it hit her like a bag of bricks, he had been the male that was making that speech at the ball! He was a sweet person for doing that. If Alexus had done that to her, she probably would have turned bright red and smacked him before attacking him with kisses once they got home. She smiled a little at the thought, before shaking her head the slightest bit to get her mind back on track.

"Oh good! Then until we get customers, you can help me stock the shelves," he said with a big grin. Pushing off the boxes, he grabbed the clipboard he had set on top of them and looked through the inventory. "So, we usually get stock every month from the mainland, but I forgot to order a few things two weeks ago, so we got extra shipment this time. Nothing huge. Just a few boxes of the large jawbreakers, gummie and sour bears, chocolate bars and an assortment of sour candies." Flipping through the pages of inventory again, he nodded in conformation at the information he told her. Looking back up at her, he set the clipboard on the counter and pulled the top box off the stack. If he remembered right, he put the chocolate on top, the box of sour candy in the middle and the jawbreakers on the bottom. "Okay, so the gummie bears are still in the back, but the middle box gets emptied over there on the wall where all the plastic containers are," he said motioning to the wall with his head.
Walking over to the opposite side of the store, further away from the counter, he dropped the box of chocolate at his feet and pulled the box cutter out of his back pocket. Cutting through the tape, he put it back into his pocket and knelt down, slowly, and began picking up handfuls of chocolate bars to put in their proper places. He pushed aside the pain that pulsed in his knee from getting up and down and continued to work. He wasn't allowed to give into the pain while he was at work. He had to muscle through; plus he had his pain meds if it got unbearable.

Finn couldn't help but laugh. She had a point there. "Ya know, the mothers like him more than the kids do," he laughed. Dime really was a babe magnet. "If I wasn't already married, I'd have no shortage of prospects." It was a joke. He didn't really mean anything by it. Bree was his soul mate and no one could replace her. Plus, the best part of it was, she was carrying his baby. Now how could he leave her lie that? He wasn't the type to abandon anyone, especially someone he loved. He wasn't his parents. Actually, how much could they have loved him if they left him so easily. Twenty-one years later and not a single shred of knowledge of who they were or where they were. Oh well, water under the bridge now. He was making his own family and he refused to turn out like them.
Dime mewled again at the lack of attention he was getting. If he wanted to be left alone, he wouldn't have come over here. In fact, he shouldn't have come to his master's work if no one was going to pet him. He'd get more love from the female master at this point. Seeing that he wouldn't get anymore love from the woman, he padded over to his master and jumped on his shoulders. Finn's golden eyes glanced back at the gray cat, who instantly made himself comfortable on the ex-athlete's shoulders. Wrapping his bushy tail around his neck, he purred against his shoulder as he watched the teal one stock shelves. "I have a feeling it's going to be a slow day," Finn muttered as he focused on putting the gummie bears away.

Finn sputtered and coughed as Dime's tail flicked into his face. Blowing at his tail, he shook his head and continued his work. When he was finished, he pushed himself to his feet, wincing as pain shot through his knee. Dime meowed at him, his ear turning when he heard the pained hiss come from his master's lips. "Eh, I'm fine buddy," he lied, petting him. Dime knew the truth about his master's pain. He'd seen that look, heard that sound, every time his master was in pain. He meowed again before jumping off his shoulders and padding back up to the counter. Finn picked up the box and tossed it beside the dolly before bending down beside the box of jawbreakers; painstakingly slowly. As he was cutting open the box, he heard the door swing open. A mother and her young daughter walked in, the child immediately growing a big smile on their face and running through the store. "Good afternoon Finn! How are you and Bree?" the woman asked as she walked over to Dime and began petting him.
"Oh hey there Sharon!" he greeted happily, despite the pain surging through his knee. "We're fine! Bree just got back from visiting her parents actually." The woman smiled as she looked over to her daughter before turning her gaze to Rylee. "Oh my! Who are you? Finn, I didn't know you started hiring," she cooed with a kind smile. "Well, need all the extra help with a baby on the way, ya know," he replied with a casual shrug and a kindhearted chuckle.

Rylee put the box to the side before she jumped just a little bit as she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. Knowing it was from Alexus, she was extremely tempted to look at the message, but knew that it wouldn't be a good thing to do while she was working. But she was oh so tempted to see what her husband had said. No, she would just have to wait, it would be bad for her to get in trouble on her first day of the job. She then looked over at Finn and tilted her head to the side as she heard him hiss in pain. She could see that the man was clearly in pain and felt bad for him, but she knew that her powers probably wouldn't offer him much help. She went to ask if he was okay, but before she could, a woman had entered the store. Watching as the child ran through the store, she then looked at the mother and smiled. "I'm Rylee." She introduced herself before she glanced over at Finn. A baby? She smiled a little bit. She felt happy for him and his wife, though Rylee herself was nowhere near being ready to have kids. Actually she hadn't even really considered the possibility of having children. She and Alexus had never talked about it. Would he want kids one day? Hmm, oh well, no time to be thinking of such things anyway.

The little girl looked up at the woman with shimmering eyes of happiness at getting to eat candy. "Gummie bears!" she exclaimed with a big smile. Her mother chuckled softly. Fishing into her purse, she grabbed her wallet to pay for the candy. Sighing softly, Finn finished his work and pushed himself to his feet. Grabbing the boxes, he hauled them away, along with the dolly. Throwing the empty box away, he stored the still half full box of jawbreakers for when they began to run low again. Walking back out, the mother and child were leaving. Waving at them both, Finn smiled and waved goodbye before walking over to the counter and sitting in the chair that sat behind the counter. He needed to rest every once in a while; when his knee began to act up. Leaning back a little, he grunted when Dime jumped onto his stomach, curling up into his lap and beginning to purr. "Rylee, you can take your lunch break now if you'd like," he said as he looked over at her. "But if you do, could I ask you to do me a favor by chance?"

Rylee chuckled softly and smiled at the girl. "You have good taste in candy." She chuckled softly before smiling at the woman as she look the money from her. "I hope you two have a wonderful day!" She said, handing her her change before waving bye to the woman and child. She then jumped a little bit as her phone vibrated again. Blushing gently herself before she looked over at Finn as he spoke to her, a smile appearing on her face. "Okay." She said. before tilting her head to the side a little bit. "Sure." She said as she looked at him curiously, wondering what he had to ask. Though, while she waited, she quickly glanced at her phone to see two messages from her husband.
To: Alexus
I'm always thinking about you sweetheart. ;3 You're so wonderful~ I'm starting my lunch break pretty soon. It doesn't matter to me, feel free to surprise me!
Smiling a little to herself, she quickly pressed send, wondering if Alexus was on his lunch break yet. The teal haired woman then turned her attention back to Finn, her head tilting to the side just a little bit.

Rylee looked at her boss before smiling at him. "Sure! I could do that." She said, going to reach out and take the money from him when he told her to wait. Her hand returned to her side as she tilted her head at him. As he sent a text to someone, she then glanced at her phone, having felt it vibrate earlier. Smiling a bit, she then replied to her husband.

Can't wait. ;3
Hitting send, she then slipped her phone into her pocket before looking at Finn again, shaking her head. "No. I don't mind." She said as she smiled at him. She was sure that Alexus wouldn't mind either. Or, she hoped he wouldn't. It would give them an excuse to get out and go for a short walk. Hmm. Oh well, either way she would do that for the male, especially since his knee seemed to be bothering him. She then smiled at him a little again. "Oh. That sounds nice." She said. She hadn't spoken to her dad in a while. She'd have to text him later and her mother... well, she hadn't spoken to that woman in years.
