Soske already knew that Hirano had opened up a counter portal before Yoh even realized what was going on. Mira did distract him enough that Soske managed to push Yoh back into the portal. As they both fell to the lake Soske growled a bit, his clothes were just barely getting dry again and Hirano had to open the portal back up over the lake. ”The fu…” As he got closer to Mira he didn’t react in time and had her shoe right in his face. The force was enough to knock him out, more so he was drained from the large blast before, then getting thrown into the lake again, and on top of that the energy of the rope was stronger than anything Mira had hit them with before. He slightly came to as Mira threw him on the couch but passed out again. He knew they were in a home somewhere he didn’t know about, hopefully other people wouldn’t as well. Almost 24hours later”So why the ******** did you kill her again?” ”I didn’t kill her, Kale did, though I can't get him to admit it, you two weren’t supposed to live.” Soske gritted his teeth a bit as Yoh spoke, though he wanted some answers. ”Besides, she’s not really gone, you can visit her.” ”The hell are you talking about?” ”Exactly, hell, demons come here when they die, more so their spirits, the living ones can leave and go when needed, the others have to stay.” ”So where the ******** IS MOM THEN?!” Soske grabbed Yoh by the collar of his shirt and lifted his older brother off the ground slightly. ”You’re not allowed to know that, and how Yoh found that out is going to be dealt with.” Soske put Yoh back down as their Grandpa entered the room. ”She is here then right, so why the ******** can’t I see her then?” ”You’re not strong enough to deal with it yet, people try, demons try, and anyone sent here spiritual shouldn’t have interaction with others. More so the journey to get to where they are will kill you.”
”But not you, so lets g…” ”I may be in charge but that won’t stop anything from touching you even if I’m there, so the answer is and always will be no.” ”LET ME ******** SEE HE…” Soske woke up in a cold sweat, more so gagging as what happened after that nearly killed him, since his Grandfather wouldn’t allow him to see their mother spiritually. A small bit of fire went through the room but Soske quickly put it out. Hirano must have got with Mira to make this place fireproof as nothing seemed to be touched by his reaction to the dream. ”…umph…” Soske finally realized he was tied up and gagged. He could imagine it was more so for their sanity rather than to protect them from him, it was so they wouldn’t kill him since he did want to curse loudly at that moment. [[ooc: Throws a curve ball... XD ]]

Hirano managed to suppress an amused snort as he successfully thwarted Yoh's retreat. After all this time, he wasn't all too surprised to know that his older brother was resurrected by their -grandfather- already. The man's reputation didn't ring in any significance to him; Hirano had long denounced any connection to anyone but his twin and biological mother in Hell. As much as he cursed his own existence, she was the only one down there who did no wrong to him at any point of his life, not even by bringing him and Soske into the world and leaving them for good. He felt absolutely no obligation to despise her yet. On the other hand, he was still quite neutral toward his twin, though he was satisfied with the tiny bit of assistance Soske was giving him by helping pull Yoh into the waterfall he made. "Don't act like you didn't miss this," he chided mischievously with a smirk. Ah, at least Soske's hatred of being drenched and fully clothed stayed the same.
By this time, Hirano could see his wife and children standing a few meters away between himself and the portal. Sena looked quite amused by the interaction between the brothers, hiding her grin behind her hand. The kids, on the other hand, seemed slightly intimidated by the display; it wasn't often that they've seen their own father in any kind of combat in the first place. Their daughter seemed more fascinated in the middle of her little bout of fear. Cute. As Sena noticed, she was about to cover both children's eyes, but he shook his head as their eyes met. "They'll learn this sooner or later."
The noise of a piece of metal and plastic crushing drew his attention back to Mira as she suddenly threw her phone into the gravel at her feet, smashing it into oblivion before she gathered the pieces and disposed of the rest in the lake. The action alone was a tip that they shouldn't stay in this place. Just as the half-angel was opening her mouth to tell them where to go, Hirano nodded and was already rushing back over to his family, managing to scoop all of them up over his shoulders effortlessly as he carried them back to the portal and leapt through. It only took a thought for their destination to change from the town of the Guild to the large house that Mira owned. Sena already knew where they were headed, and nimbly lowered herself from Hirano's shoulder to the ground to take their daughter Otani from him as they landed. Their son Yudai, on the other hand, wriggled around out of his grip to wrap around the back of Hirano's neck and support himself across both shoulders as he looked around. "Ah! It's Gramma's house!" he exclaimed excitedly with a wide grin. "That's right, lil' buddy. We just gotta wait for grandma to get here in a few minutes. Shouldn't be too long."
----------------------
A few hours had passed, but most of that time had been spent securing the living room after Mira threw an unconscious Soske on the couch. Sena kept the children busy in the toy room the whole time until they both tuckered themselves out and fell asleep. After putting Otani and Yudai to bed, she came back out into the living room to offer some input. By then, night had already fallen, the room illuminated by the crackling flames in the fireplace across the room from the doorway.
"Well, you did mention that he's got a bit of a mouth on 'im," she said as she approached the edge of the soundproofing barrier Hirano emitted around the couch area as he watched her walk over, perched on the back of the seat and casually using his currently comatose brother as a footrest. She flinched slightly and shuddered as she walked through the invisible wall of motionless molecules; it was always going to be a strange sensation no matter how many times she had to pass through it over years of being with him. "And I did imagine you'd hate if this douchebag passed his superior language skills to the kids," he remarked with a smirk before changing his tone to something slightly more formal. Slightly. "But yeah. I understand your concerns, and also would not appreciate the kids suddenly yelling out s**t like '******** ********' and the like. 'Specially not around Mom; you know how she hates that."
Sena raised her foot to step up onto the couch cushion, joining her husband on his seat after brushing his tail out of the way and casually resting a leg on his knee as she relaxed and leaned against his shoulder. "Of course I know. My mother would be the same way if she were here and that happened. Both of them, actually." Hirano let out an amused snort. "I figured." "So I suggest doing something to avoid the problem before it actually starts." Hirano turned his head to gaze down at Sena, eyebrow raised as she piqued his curiosity. "Like what?" His wife only grinned impishly as she giggled. "You'll see~"
And with that, she swung her legs over the back of the couch and hopped back onto the floor, starting to prance away after getting out of the boundary of the soundproof barrier, only to stop and turn back to her husband one last time. "You might want to keep him restrained though. Especially that mouth of his. At least until I get this ready." With a swerve around the corner to the stairway, she was out of Hirano's sight.
Oh, how he admired the mischievous glint in her eyes. He chuckled to himself before opening what seemed to be a supply portal and reaching in to retrieve some duct tape and fire-resistant binding.
----------------------
Hirano didn't really need to sleep. It was probably his own energy level refusing to dwindle down, or was it the need to just watch his brother and wait for him to awaken in order to prevent any collateral damage to Mira's house? He figured it was a combination of the two. By then, it was getting close to noon, if he was accurately keeping time. And then it happened as he was sitting in a chair across from the couch. The large flare that blossomed seemingly out of nowhere. Otani, who was walking through the room to go into the kitchen let out a frightened shriek at the sight and sudden fluctuation of heat before darting behind her father. Hirano laughed as he gave the girl a reassuring pat on her head. "You're safe, kiddo. Calm down," he chuckled as he assisted Soske in putting out the flare. "Good morning, sunshine. Say hello to your first niece."

Soske blinked as he heard what sounded like someone squealing. Where the hell was he? As he heard someone talking to him he realized it was Hirano and he was introducing him to his niece. Wait… niece? He would’ve pulled the gag out but found his hands tied up as well. Well s**t.” He heard Mira speak up as well and sighed as he saw the death glare she was giving him. He would probably get a long a** lecture from her, a few good slaps then be handed over to Hirano for yet another long a** lecture, and probably some rules for being around the kids. ”Would you ******** let me out of this?” Soske attempted to say but only heard himself mumbling, probably better for him anyway, he was sure Hirano wouldn’t want the kids hearing that s**t, well tough. Instead he simply glared at his brother with the “******** do something glare” he usually gave when being impatient. He winced a bit as some pain went through his body and then glared at Mira. The last thing he remembered was seeing her foot in his face. He flinched as she reached for his face and took off the gag ”You look like s**t. He grinned a bit, knowing he probably caused half of her problems, especially at the moment. He knew she’d probably smack him for swearing after the look she just gave him as well but the fact was it was true. Pointing at Hirano and then Otani Soske blinked again. He heard rumors from Yoh he just wasn’t sure they were actually true until now. ”Hi there, sorry about scaring you earlier, sometimes bad dreams do that to me.” He seriously hoped she wouldn’t ask what kind, he didn’t want to explain that to Hirano or Mira just yet. ”So you’re keeping me safe, which most likely means you’re going against orders, so what happens when and if they find us?” Turning back to Mira he grinned yet again, he knew she was most likely going against her orders by keeping away from the army of Angels that had been after him. Thinking of something quickly he raised eyebrows. ”I… saw your dad Mira, you probably need to get him out of their or at least get him to leave, they may try to use him to draw you out.” Wasn’t too likely but at the last attempts of trying to capture him he figured they were running out of ideas by this point. "Also hey bro, how's it been?" Soske grinned as he turned to Hirano knowing that'd irritate everyone, with having no quick explanation of what was going on.

Hirano would never deny being proud that he ended up marrying a battle mage. Even after ten years, he was still impressed by Sena's progression after having minimal physical or magical combat until after their first few meetings during guild missions, with a few training sessions on the side. Also, he had never met a scholar as determined as she was to learn whatever she was able to get to, with as wide a variety in skills picked up on that included armed and unarmed combat mixed with an array of magics, including holy magic. Curses and counter-curses, on the other hand, had always been a specialty in her family, and already with years of experience with both, she found the best times to use them were during extreme cases, with some exceptions. This time of meeting Soske was one such occasion, as she hated the thought of either of hers and Hirano's well-raised children to learn any crude language this early on in their lives. Hirano didn't want Yudai and Otani to experience any part of his past anyway, and that included picking up on the speech he and Soske had grown up with, so he had already given her the okay.
It was a simple censorship curse, of course. But it was also the first time Sena had ever used it, so neither she nor Hirano knew what to expect. Word substitution would've been acceptable, but.... "-Quack-ing hell." The remark echoed from the underground cavern and back up into the kitchen, where Hirano and his family sat around the table for breakfast, and upon hearing it, the white-horned demon nearly spat out his coffee before calmly putting his utensils down and excusing himself from the table to go outside.
He laughed harder than he ever had over the past fifteen years.
----
As soon as he was over his laughing fit, Hirano reentered the kitchen, looking up as Mira addressed him with an apology and a question. Sena and the kids were already back in the living room, preparing a stack of complex runes to surround the house with. "Huh? Oh. Yeah Mom, of course," he said with a nod as he walked back over to the table to finish his coffee. "I'll help her out too, if need be. Don't worry too much."

Mira sighed. As inspiring as Hirano's confidence was, she was still worried. Not just about the security runes and the magic it would take to keep them running, but also about Soske and whatever reason he came back from hell to do. And most importantly, getting to Cian before the angels did anything too damaging to him. The plan was that he'd keep them occupied for a few days and meet up with her in a town a bit away from both places. A midpoint of sorts. Of course that didn't mean that things would work out that way, but that was the plan.
Mira pushed herself from the wall and over to the counter to pour herself a cup of coffee. It had become her life blood, especially in the last few weeks. Demons didn’t know when to quit and the Agency had her doing all sorts of missions. Not to mention all the work she’d been doing to finish the house. Plenty of research on the runes that she was suggested to use in protecting the house. She was sure coffee was the only thing keeping her going at this point. She poured her cup and easily downed half the cup in one sip. It was hot, but Mira didn’t mind anymore. She turned and looked at Hirano.
”I’m going to go check up on your brother before I leave. Make sure he hasn’t quacked himself to death.” She joked a bit before setting her cup down and walking towards the entrance to the underground lake. ”Feel free to join us.” She made sure to mention as she started down the stairs. It wasn’t as if he needed an invitation, he was grown and could do what he wanted, but Mira felt better throwing it out there anyway.
As she stepped off the last step, she was on alert. It was quiet in the area; Soske seemed to have stopped trying to curse out loud. Which was what made her think to come check up on him. Just in case her precautions weren’t enough. Call it paranoia, but Mira just didn’t trust that the house was completely secure, no matter what her ‘source’ had to say on the matter. Especially because of who this ‘source’ was. All seemed well as she looked around the area. It wasn’t luck that she had this underground area. She purposely built the house on top of the underground lake. It was intentional.
”Soske?” She called out as she approached, announcing her presence so Soske wouldn’t have a heart attack at her usually silent approach. ”Just coming down to make sure you haven’t died on us.”

*** Time skip to a few hours later, middle of the night... blah blah blah... ***Soske growled a bit as something kept jabbing him. He had been fast asleep, well sort of. Nightmares can even keep a demon from sleeping. He hadn’t gone into the house in fear of scaring the kids or starting some s**t and asked Mira to make the spells stronger in the cavern to block any excess energy in case he had a random outburst. ”WAKE UP! ”Ugh…” ”WAKE UP YOU IDIOT!” At the second attempt Soske felt something small jump on his chest and repeatedly. He easily swatted it away and heard a splash in the distance and went back to sleep. ”Little s**t.” Soske felt himself moving along the ground, a bit roughly and was coming out of slumber when his whole body suddenly fell into the underground lake. ”WHAT THE ********> Except of course it came out as a quack again. He was going to have to get Sena to remove that spell but he was pretty sure that she wouldn’t, at least for a while. He looked around and glared to see a black and green Imp laughing at him. ”Serves you right.” Getting out Soske stalked over to the Imp and went to grab him but was instantly repelled back a bit. ”Ok…” From what their grandfather told him Imps were generally one of the lowest level demons but this one still had enough power to bypass Mira’s wards and push him back. ”Ugh…Who the hell are you and what do you want?” Something about the imp seemed familiar but Soske couldn’t quite place it at that moment.
”ALSO, besides that how the ******** did you get past Mira’s wards?” Again a quack and the imp tried to stop from laughing but couldn’t. ”I take it Sena doesn’t like swearing much?” Soske glared at the imp, apparently he knew things he shouldn’t. ”Talk before I get Mira to come kick your a**.” ”She’s probably already on her way, I think her wards also have a count detection, and alerted her already.” ”Well good, get to talking.” The imp shrugged and hopped up on a rock bench. ”Lou sent me.” ”For?” ”BOY, stop interrupting me and let me finish before you ask stupid questions that I can answer in one go.”
”Lou sent me to help you, well more to explain things.” The imp starting pacing back in forth. ”Your memory was slightly wiped of this but essentially Lou sent you to kill your brother, but that’s a false flag so say. He wants you to do nothing but act like your taking your time.” Soske was about to ask something but the imp just pointed at him making him stop. ”Kale and Yoh are in a power play at the moment, they’re trying to usurp Lou and take control. Lou is going along with their little plot as a smoke screen. He actually sent you to get Mira and Hirano in one place with you.” ”Why Mira?” ”Do you still think you ended up with her just out of pure coincidence. You really are dumb. You know of Mira’s Daughter, that’s how Lou knows Mira as well. And even though they don’t see eye to eye the two actually agree on some things, such as Kale not taking control at all.”
”Kale is a p***k…” ”I’ve known that longer than you’ve been alive kid.” Soske blinked at the comment, so the imp knew Kale, Yoh and even Lou. ”Who the ******** are you?” The imp whirled around and pointed at Soske. ”Figure it out or ask Mira…” The imp pointed to the entrance to the underground cavern and Soske could hear someone coming down now.
** Edit:
Imp Just green and black instead red... also he's only about 2-3 feet tall...

The hours seemed to have gone by quickly. Before Hirano knew it, the skies had darkened as dusk had fallen. Though he didn't visibly do much in his own opinion, today had been a long day. He was finishing his checkup on his son and daughter for the night, making sure they were both still sound asleep in their beds. All day, he didn't let it show on his face or his demeanor as they were slowly and cautiously getting used to the fact they have a blood-related uncle, but he had been hiding something from them to keep them blissfully unaware for the time being. They were only children, after all. It was only after he closed the door to their room that he let his smile falter. Turning away, he let out a long, drawn-out sigh as quietly as he could muster. As glad as he was to have his own twin around again, the feeling that he couldn't fully trust Soske again was eating away at him. Even with how many times he had returned to this earthly world again for however long he needed to be here, it seemed to get worse for Hirano.
He caught himself grimacing at his own thoughts, relaxing his face as much as he could before looking up and around to make sure his wife hadn't been walking around while he was unaware and seen his expression. To much of his relief, she hadn't; she was nowhere in the hallway or in the stairwell. He could sense Sena's presence in the room they shared, and he could tell she was also in a slumber. Hirano only felt a little bit of relief from this, and knowing her, she would start worrying about him again like she always did if she saw him at this time. As she had mentioned to him before while they were just dating several years prior, empathy was as much a curse as it was a blessing. Especially hers. Opening a portal into their room instead of using the door, he silently walked to the bed and stood at his wife's side, gazing down at her face as she lie on her side facing him. Even during times when they didn't talk, she still had a calming effect on him. He lowered himself onto to his knees and rested his chin on his left arm on the bed, fixating himself on her visage as he raised his free hand to brush her hair out of the way as he contemplated the situation.
Hirano already had multiple attempts on his life during times of his twin's absence. He already knew the source of those attacks were coordinated by those whom he was aware were directly related to him. They were people he knew Mira wouldn't be happy to know he had already denounced any kind of tie to him and his family, and Soske was very close to being on that list despite how much he had been missed. It was difficult for him to get his thoughts in order about everything though. At least Mira had been somewhat aware of the turmoil in his mind, but he was almost getting desperate to talk to someone else about it and get their input. He couldn't. Not even the Wolves could be allowed into this current state of affairs, in his fear for their safety and the confidentiality of this situation.
After a few minutes of stroking his sleeping wife's cheek, his attention snapped to something different. There was something downstairs in the cavern that didn't belong there, and he could feel it through both his demonic senses and through the disturbance in his energy field. Mira's and Sena's barriers should've kept anything out, but what the hell made it in? Hirano's pupils narrowed as he withdrew himself from the bedside, and he teleported himself underground to where he could sense his twin, Mira, and the intruder. Appearing next to the stairwell with an audible fwip, he took a few steps forward to Mira's side as she started to threaten their current guest, eyeing the intruding creature. "Gods, they're even uglier in person," he remarked offhandedly as his scowl returned to his face. Does this imp's appearance in the area mean Hirano would have to tamper with the portals here on the surface too?
.... Probably.

Soske blinked as Mira came in and well, her response was not what he expected. ”Wh…” She cut him off before he could continue the question and glared at her. ”Hiya toots.” Soske’s attention went immediately to the Imp again. Ok, so they knew each other, well the Imp knew Kale so that wasn’t so hard to believe but what the ********? ”WHAT THE…” Before Soske could finish that as well the Imp jumped on his shoulders being lighter than he appeared and smacked Soske on top of his head. ”Quiet. Adults are talking now.” Soske growled, or would’ve if he was able to open his mouth or even make sounds for that matter. ”And… there’s the other, good, wont’ have to… And you little s**t, just remember not to piss off your grandfather and you wont end up like this.” Soske turned as Hirano popped in, well this should be… wait what? ”Lucy sent me to keep this idiot out of trouble. Your ex is causing issues, again, so we’re trying a different tactic to keep them busy and slightly confused.” Soske tried to pull the Imp off but when he reached up something smacked his hands HARD. ”As for your question, Miss Angel over here cant really block family from coming in, well ones that know how to fluctuate their own aura to match another and I’ve been around you plenty to get yours down.” We are NOT related to an Imp you a… ”I WASN’T like this always you idiot.” Soske blinked, apparently the Imp could read minds. ”Just the ones I silence. And weaker ones.” Soske could’ve sworn the Imp winked at the last comment. Smartass… ”Runs in the family… I think your twin though isn’t as susceptible to it though.” The Imp finally got off and looked Hirano up and down. ”Lu sends his apologies on the matter of trying to kill you. Kale strikes again, just be glad we managed to send weak and dumb demons and not professional hitter types.”
