A Busy Night

It wasn't all that often that he had to get hands on with those that came to the in these days. It was as though most knew that they would end up in a whole lot of trouble if they messed up or went against the rules that were important to Eira's inn. They were fairly simple and meant to keep things safe, with the most important thing being the first two rules. No weapons were allowed, all of them being handed over to Gyuri upon everyone heading inside. They were tucked away behind the bar, kept their safe, until the various warriors left, to keep them from fighting among themselves in a manner that would draw a lot of blood. Eira would likely strangle them if they were foolish enough to get their blood on the floors here. The idea of the wood floors being stained red didn't sit well with the mistress of the inn. As such the worst one saw here was the occasional fist fight that ended with Gyuri throwing the offenders outside by their scruffs.

Tonight though was a different sort of night, the sort that rather put Gyuri on edge from the start. There was a group of men, those that he'd never seen enough now, that came in after the sun had set. Upon being told the rules there were a couple of them that didn't seem as though they liked said rules. One even went as far as to tell Gyuri that he wouldn't be giving his sword up to some 'half breed' which had merely caused the muscular bouncer to lift an eyebrow. It wasn't all that often, at least here at the inn, that one heard such old fashion nonsense. He'd let it slide though, not everyone was as advanced in their thinking as though in the inn he thought to himself at the time. As for the weapons thing though, that he stood fast on, only allowing through those who would actually hand their weapons over to him.

It took a bit of time, most of which just consisted of Gyuri and the other man starring one another down, before he finally gave up his spear. It was a combination of him not backing down and the stubborn man's friends telling him to 'just do what he's told' that got him to do so. The problem being that it was obvious that they resented the fact that they were being ordered around by someone like Gyuri, they kept glancing his way, the looks on their faces speaking volumes. Gyuri didn't interfere with them though, seeing it as just in their nature to be unlikable and unfriendly. So long as they continued to behave themselves then things would be fine. As such he went about his usual work while keeping an eye on the group of men as they drank... and drank they did.

They were deep in their cups in no time, something that didn't really sit well with him as it meant they would be more trouble while drunk then they were while sober, which was saying something. Gyuri turned away for a moment, listening to another patron as he chatted about something inconsequential to Gyuri. It made the big man smile a bit as it was something quite simple, the fact that a certain flower was finally blooming. Apparently it was something important, getting his hands on such a flower. It was something that people in Sauti liked to bring to a woman that they were courting. A subject that distracted him for a moment as he found himself wondering if a 'courtship bloom' might be something that Borra would appreciate.... and what about Sin'qua? Should he tell Makani about those flowers?

His thoughts on such things were forgotten when he heard the clattering sound of a chair, then loud voices from one side, and a woman's yelp. Whirling around he found one of them men, the one that seemed to have the most problem with Gyuri getting himself into trouble. Not just normal trouble either, it was likely the worst possible trouble possible. The fool b*****d had grabbed hold of Eira's wrist and it had caused the entirety of the inn to stand up, none of them looking at all amused over the drunk daring to grab the woman in charge of the inn. Feeling the tension in the air Gyuri hurried forward, knocking the man's hand away from Eira, before moving to stand between them and her.

His mismatched eyes narrowed on the man before him before he lifted one hand, pointing toward the door, and said in a commanding tone, "Leave." It was simple, one word, telling the man to go. The rest of the group that were with him were free to stay if they wished, but this one was no longer welcome here. Gyuri would see to it that he was banned from the place for daring to lay hands on Eira in such a manner.

The man looked quite surprised, his eyes seeming to clear as he was told to leave. He gave a hissing sound, eyes narrowing, "Leave? I'm still drinking. So how about you and your wench just back off and let me enjoy my..." His words were cut off as Gyuri grabbed hold of the man by the front of his shirt and soon enough they were heading toward the front door, dragging the man along, before kicking the front door open. A moment later the abhorrent drunk was taught how to flying, sailing through the air off the deck in front of the inn and onto his back in the dirt.

"I said to leave." Gyuri said again, turning back inside, "If you return I will leave your fate to Eira... she isn't as kind as I am." The idea of an angry Eira going after someone was terrifying to him. Not something that he really wanted to deal with himself so he almost felt bad for anyone foolish enough to cross her. That the man had actually thought that he could get away with manhandling her, that would get him in even more trouble. Not just with Eira, but with the regular crowd as well. What would happen if Makani or Sin'qua were to find out? He could only imagine the havoc they would bring down upon the idiot's head with that magic of theirs. He gave a shake of his head before starting inside, stopped by the man's voice.

Back on his feet the quickly sobering man demanded, "What of my spear?!" He had given his weapon over the Gyuri at the start of the night, begrudgingly, and now he'd been tossed out without it. It seemed he wanted it back and Gyuri wasn't really of a mind to return it. If anything they should keep it as compensation for what the drunk had done. At the same time he didn't want their establishment to look bad or as though they were thieves. Best that he gave the man's weapon back to him, though that didn't mean that it this would be forgiven.

Turning around slowly Gyuri starred the man down, then held out a hand, "Pay your tab. I will return the spear but you aren't allowed back inside." He saw no reason to let someone like this back in. The man had been trouble from the start. An obvious racist, one that didn't follow the rules, and wanted to man handle the very woman that owned the inn. All good reasons not to allow him back but to be honest another good reason being that if he returned there were those that might decide to avenge Eira. There were a lot of regular customers, fans of Eira, that would be only to happy to play the part of her knights in shining armor. It was best that the man was banned for his own good before he ended up beaten to a pulp or worse.

Only after the now glaring man had begrudgingly handed over what he owed for his many drinks did Gyuri return inside, fetching his spear, before handing it over. After that he headed back inside, giving a glance to the rest of the group. They weren't willing to look his way... it seemed seeming Gyuri throw their buddy out the front door and onto his backside had been enough to convince them all the behave. Here was to hoping that they kept in mind that he would be only too happy to do the same thing to the rest of them if the need for it arose.

From there Gyuri had gone to check on Eira, finding her with a few of her adoring fans who were all fawning over her in a manner that seemed to please the woman. He couldn't help but to shake his head a bit, glad to see that she was alright as well as a bit amused as she allowed the others to flit about in such a manner, worried over her wrist, and wanting to help her out. Makani seemed to have been summoned as well to check on her, meaning that she was in the best of hands. He'd be able to get back to work without worry now that Eira was with her younger brother. The Sage could heal her if there was need and protect her with that magic of his were any of the others in that group to start trouble.

More rounds were made, with him checking on everyone else in the inn but much to his actual delight it seemed as though everyone was on their best behavior. That always seemed to be the way of things, with everyone behaving themselves after he tossed someone out on their ear. It were as though they recalled that it was in fact his job to do just that, which put them on good behavior so that they wouldn't find themselves as the next one thrown out. It was something that made his job a bit easier, which made him feel it was a shame that he didn't toss more people out in such a grandiose manner. At the same time he'd much prefer that people just remained peaceful and happy, enjoying the inn instead of trying to pick fights within the walls.

After making sure everyone else was well before he circled back to the bar, moving behind it, and put away the coin that he'd fetch earlier from the man he'd thrown out. The amount given was likely more then what the drinks were worth, what he'd consider as being a good tip. It wasn't nearly good enough to ever get the man passage inside the inn again but he hoped it would be enough to make Eira happy. Once the customers had cleared out Eira would likely voice her displeasure about the entire incident to him since he was the inn's bouncer. He hoped that he was fast enough in his intervention that she hadn't been hurt... that was what he was most worried about, though if something had been sprained or strained Makani was sure to have patched her up.

Walking around the bar he found himself leaning against it once more, looking across the inn again. Now that the one who was causing the most trouble was gone things seemed to be a lot calmer. Turning to the young man that was still there Gyuri said, "You were telling me about 'courtship flowers'?" Now that the worst of the night was over he meant to try to make it better. He'd see about talking to him about the flowers, where they were and what they looked like, so that he could get one of them for Borra. He wasn't sure how much Borra knew about such flowers but maybe they would help when it came to him showing his true feelings for the musician? That's what he hoped at least. He want to get through to Borra, to show the somewhat oblivious young man how he felt... and if Borra felt otherwise so be it.

He just felt that it was time that he really told him, so that he at least knew. It was something Gyuri had mostly kept to himself all this time and it was something he needed to share. Borra deserved to know and Gyuri deserved to know what Borra thought of him in return. He'd either have a chance with Borra or he'd know that Borra wasn't interested, either way he'd finally get the feelings out in the open with the flower's help.
