ASPIRATIONS/PERSONALITY/BIO

Aspirations: While his father wants him to become a Hunter Gyuri has other dreams for himself. What he'd really like to do is explore the world, see the home of his mother, and beyond.

Personality:

~ Silent: Gyuri is one of those guys that doesn't talk all that much, he leaves that sort of thing to everyone else, and he will let his size, his fists, and just the sheer intimidation factor that his very aura carries do the talking for him. Why speak when you can just stare someone down after all? Not to mention that those that he is going to be traveling with will talk more then enough for ten people, no reason for him to bother adding to the already overwhelming chatter. He's more the sort that will just sit back, listen to those around him to gather information, and nod when he feels that it is appropriate for him to do so.

If and when Gyuri does speak up it's likely to be about something serious and people should listen up. It's something that will probably cause those who are used to dealing with him a great amount of surprise given that it isn't something that he does all that often. If anyone knows the importance of him speaking up it will be those who travel with him. They will also know that it's time for them to listen up, prepare for whatever it is that is coming their way, and hope for the best... though really, all they have to do is hide behind Gyuri given that he would give his all to keep those he cares for safe.

~ Defender: Gyuri can and will deck anyone that gets too close or too rough with those that he is watching over. He will take his job as a bodyguard very, very seriously, and even though he is still a prentice. Due to his sheer size his age is something that is hard to guess at just looking at him, as such that alone can make people debate whether or not it's a good idea to pick fights with him. Even if they are aware of his age he isn't the sort that will back down. The safety of his charges comes before his own safety, but it's all a part of the job. Gyuri isn't the sort to make idle threats, he won't tell someone to get lost, nor will he give them a choice, instead he will pick them up bodily and toss them out on their backsides if they are bothering his charges. Good luck with getting a second chance with him after he does this, it gets a person a sort of 'red mark' in his book.

~ Affectionate: Actions speak louder then words, especially for someone like Gyuri who doesn't talk much. While he won't voice out loud what he is feeling he will communicate his affection through his actions, being very hands on, very sweet, hugging the one he likes close, patting him on the arm, and otherwise being close by. He is the sort that likes to be near to those he cares for, a bit like a puppy. He will also have the habit of scooping up the one that he cares for up off the ground for hugs and/or to pull them out of the way of any sort of harm that they might come across. He'd likely even pick that person up to keep them from having to walk through a puddle if they were to run across one.

Bio:

Gyuri is a halfbreed, a mix of Shifter and Ice, his parents a strange pair that met only after his father was out searching the world over to find treatment for his twin sister's illness. Upon meeting with a Shifter Healer, one that seemed to know of the illness that his sister was suffering from, the man spirited her away from her tribe to bring her back to Zena. It was there that their relationship began, at first rocky, but one that smoothed out after a time, and the woman ended up staying in Zena with him. After a time Gyuri was born, something that both of his parents were quite happy about, he was a manifestation of their love after all and one that carries traits from both parents.

Gyuri's mother is chatty sort of woman, the sort that was always telling stories about Jauhar to her son, telling about the trees that reached the sky, trees that people lived in, about a whole tribed of people that shifted colors depending on the time of day just as she did, and about the different tribes that lived around her own. It was something that interested Gyuri greatly, making him want nothing more then to set out on an adventure to find everything that she has told him about to this point. His father though, he is determined to keep Gyuri home, to teach him the ins and outs of hunting, and help his son become an integral part of the tribe even though Gyuri has other ideas. It's a difficult thing though, for him to really speak up about anything, as such he found himself getting swept along by the desires of his father, that was until he met with an Ice Tribe woman who seemed to be convinced that he was much older then he was, one that went about hiring him to be a 'bodyguard' for the troupe she was putting together.

Seeing a way to sneak away to have an adventure, as well as people to have the adventure with, Gyuri was quick to agree to the Ice Tribe woman's demands. So what if he isn't quite a warrior or a hunter yet? Nobody has to know, right? He believes that since she felt that he looked the part of a bodyguard that he could surely pull the job off. He has some training as far as what he's learned from his father and he means to train even more, all he has to do is keep it on the down low that he isn't anything more then a prentice. He hopes that nobody finds out about it before he is able to hone his skills enough to make himself into a decent enough warrior that he can actually take on the title of bodyguard.

~ Despite really not looking it Gyuri is a prentice still starting out and figuring out his place in the world. His father has plans for what he feels his son should do in life and Gyuri has far different plans. It's going to be interesting from here out.

~ Gyuri has been given the rank of Guard to go along with the job that he'd been given by Eira. He wants to take good care of his group, to keep them safe from the various things that might threaten them. He will train, get stronger, and protect them no matter what!

~ Gyuri is getting stronger, doing all that he can to help to keep the troupe and those he cares about safe. He has even learned to speak up, at least a bit more, when it comes to them that is. For the most part he is still a quiet presence but if the need arises he will find his voice! Now, if only he could find it when it comes to Borra and his feelings for him. So much time has passed and he's still gotten no where with him, something he needs to change if at all possible.

~ Gyuri lives in a modest sized home with his parents at the moment in Zena, it's a nice place, the one he's known all his life, but he looks forward to when he can head out on his own to see more then just their little slice of Zena.

GYURI'S FAMILIARS

~ A strange creature from a foreign land that Gyuri found lost in the snow. He took the creature in, brought it home, and is currently training it to pull a sled to help him out with his various chores. It's a cute creature, one that is as calm and quiet as Gyuri himself is.

EARTHLINGS: ICE TRIBE

Although their society does not possess a true aristocracy, the people of the Ice Tribe certainly give off a regal vibe. They live in the mountainous area of Zena, towards the boundary of Sauti, where it is cold and often snowy. Therefore, their clothing is often lined in fur, protecting them, to an extent, from the harsher elements.

These Earthlings have light blue skin. Their hair is usually a darker shade of blue, but can sometimes be mistaken as having a slight tinge or purple, or be dark enough to be considered black. Their eyes range from yellow to amber to gold, but all seem to possess a radiant, almost glowing quality. Like all Earthlings, the Ice Tribe sports crystals. Theirs, however, seem to have an almost rockier quality. They are a dark, bluish purple and can usually be found in bulk around these peoples’ necks, front torso, and inner thighs.

Many (although not all) of the Ice Tribe members consider themselves superior to other Earthlings, especially the nomadic Wind Tribe. Due to the structure of their government, some Ice Tribe members feel that they rule over the Wind Tribe, although their relationship has never degenerated to the level of slavery.

Religion: Like the Wind Tribe, the Ice Tribe worships Bergchi, or “Chi”, the goddess of the mountains. Bergchi is their creator and mother, although not necessarily the highest power in Tendaji. When a person passes on, they meet Bergchi in the next world. Their sacred mountain, far to the east of Zena, is called Mount Xi’i. There, a secluded group of female oracles live, protecting the mountain.

Government: The Wind Tribe of Sauti and the Ice Tribe of Zena share a council-style government. Both tribes have a varying number of council members; however many each group deems worthy of the position. All members of the council sit in on meetings and vote on any matters that come up. The Ice Tribe, however, has a heavier hand, and their decisions are weighed more heavily than those of the Wind Tribe. The nomadic Wind Tribe, however, doesn't seem too discouraged by the arrangement.

EARTHLINGS: SHIFTERS

The Shifters comprise a small, rudimentary tribe dwelling in the heart of Tendaji’s rainforest. Like other Earthlings, they stand at about four feet, on average. They possess long, rounded ears and their slim bodies are speckled with blue crystals. The length and style of their hair is dependent primarily upon their trade and rank within the tribe.

This race’s most distinguishing trait lies within their skin and eyes. Both features change from light to dark with the rising of the sun, and back to light in the evening, to match the silvery shades of the moon.

Personality-wise, they are across the board, although each individual’s disposition tends to coordinate with whether they are more nocturnal or diurnal. Their temperament, thus, greatly contributes to the form in which they are most commonly seen.

The Shifer Tribe shares Jauhar, their rainforest home, with the Alkidikes. Because of the war-like nature of their opposing female rivals, however, they tend to do what they can to stay out of the way and to remain unseen. They live predominantly in the upper canopy where food can be found in greater abundance, creating strange nests and hammock-like homes from the thousands of thick, dark green vines that twist between the trees. This diverse tribe prefers an elevated position where they can still observe the movements of the sun and moon.
