Humanity
A species relatively new to the world, humanity has only existed in these lands and beyond for barely over a millenia. Like all species, the human universe had merged with this current one just as its species reached its technological pique. With devastating losses to both technology and population in the violent merging of worlds, humanity has lived in complete isolation until the past few decades as they did their best to recover their losses. It was a long and difficult process, especially when one considers the outright science fiction levels of awesome their tech had reached and the fact that humans were never predisposed to live in such a magical enviornment to begin with. After a brutal civil war amongst the once isolated settlements five hundred years ago, the few remaining humans merged communities to create a single dictatorship in which they could finally unite against the various lands that now oppressed them. As the years went by they recovered some of their old knowledge and lore, becoming an almost steam-punkish sort of futuristic people who strongly value order and one's fixated place in society. They worship their current dictator, a descendant of their united city's founder, as if he were a god that brought humanity the chance at salvation it so righteously deserves. This would not be so frightening if they did not have such an imperialistic nature and the means to using nuclear warfare whenever they so wish.

Demons
Demons are a physically and magically adept species known best for their violence and rediculously awesome looking horns. There are many varieties of demons, from the physical juggernauts with the wicked claws to the more lithe and devious winged demons that take to the skies. Alongside a normal omnivorous diet, demons literally feed off of the magic that lingers in the air. No matter how fit or well fed one might be, a demon in any non magical area is certain to quickly 'starve' to death. Beyond their physical traits the traditions of their ancient culture praise independance and sheer brutality. Within the past millenia, however, the demons have been making an effort to become a more peaceful - or at the very least more intelligent and reasonable - people. Much effort has been put into the increased study of previously forbidden magics as well as the construction of technology and machine-based weaponry, which makes them the second most technologically advanced of all the species. It is no secret that the Mad King(s)'s taking a (previously) human bride has something to do with that. Speaking of the demonic royal family, it was notorious for the pureness of the bloodline and their violent psychopathy until fairly recently - in which the two kings and their shared queen have shredded several traditions and stereotypes in their effort towards generally improving the lives of their people.

Elvish
The elves were once a proud and prosperous people in the world, dominating the fields of magic and proper education for centuries. Despite their natural longevity they've always had short and frail builds compared to the other more violent species that inhabit the neighboring lands, meaning that the elves have always had to rely upon their cleverness and affinity with magic in order to compete with an increasingly warlike world. Otherwise, they would have been quickly wiped out due to their borderline unbearable obsessive reverance for nature. As one can imagine, these very qualities are what make it impossible for the elves and the humans to get along. Their relationship started terrible, but after an unfortunate series of events, things only got worse between them. Their bitter rivalry met its climax when the humans hit the elvish homelands with several nuclear missiles in retaliation for [the elves] pillaging several human villages. Now with barely under a thousand elves remaining untainted by the nuclear radiation, they've fled from their homelands and have taken up a more nomadic existance within the past millenia. The elves now search for a new land to call home, but as one can imagine, that is easier said than done...

Beast-Folk
The Beast-Folk are the anthropomorphic animal-like humanoids that inhabit the newly discovered land. They are quite the close-knit and loyal community, used to the stability and comfort their culture and isolation has provided. With the newcoming, longer-lived species invading their land and taking it - and their holy stones - for their own, it's all but guaranteed that their peaceful and complacent existance will not last for much longer. Their long-lasting religion and superstitions are being challenged, everything they assumed to be theirs being taken from them, and even their culture is being chipped away at by all that's being introduced and forced down their throads by the invaders.

When one lives in an overpopulated country on an overpopulated continent surrounded by other overpopulated countries, it's only natural that one might get a little sick of the lack of space. The few surviving elves, after having their homeland completely nuked by the humans in a vicious war, were able to discover a large new land ripe for colonization. The humans and demons, for entirely different reasons at first, decided to investigate the island after hearing rumors of the elves' many discoveries - the most compelling being a new sort of stone that can be used to replenish both one's magical energy and one's life. When that rumor proves to be true, the humans and demons are the second and third species to start trying to settle on the new land and relinquish it of its valuables. The natives however, only known to the three settling species as the primitive Beastfolk, are highly protective of the stones and are against sharing their resources for long. As one can imagine, an all out brutal war for the land and potential power it provides is certainly not out of the question.

1. If you truly must go all 'TL;DR' on me, then read only what is relevant to you and your RPC(s). This should mean whatever faction you intend on having your character join, the introduction, the rules, and maybe the profile skeletons of the characters your PC encounters. I just shortened your required reading by..what...five minutes? You're ******** welcome.

2. Blah blah obey ToS blah blah obligatory s**t blah.

3. God-Modding, unless the story or situation demands it in the oppinion of the roleplay moderators, is strictly forbidden and after one strike is easilly a bannable offence. Unwarranted power playing, controlling someone else's character without their permission, auto-hitting, and constant extreme ultra-dodging get to be shoe-horned under the definition of 'god moddery' in my roleplays so don't bother with that s**t either. In a similar vein, if a black hole sue//extreme WSoB-breaking attention whore character is spotted in our midsts, it is ground for auto-bannage. (Not normally a problem, but when it happens it jacks things up worse in a thread than cybering or possibly even flaming.)

4. Respect your fellow roleplayers. Should you have a disagreement and feel the need to argue, please take it elsewhere. Frequent spats and trouble-making can and will easilly result in a ban.

5. Please write your posts legibly and in the third person. LEGIBLY does not mean PERFECT, as I highly doubt any of us have 100% orgasmically awesome/amazingly accurate grammar and spelling. Legibly means 'readable'.

6. When creating your character, use the profile template that I've provided within this roleplay thread. Do not alter what you aren't supposed to, do not bold the entire profile, do not remove the coding that makes it look neat, and do not bother trying to send a character stolen from your favorite ********> For your character's appearance, either a pic or a detailed description would do nicely. You cannot leave it blank nor can you use a Tektek dream avi, as the former is laughable and the latter is an eyesore as far as PCs go. If a picture you use isn't yours, which is most likely if you don't upload your own, just say that you didn't draw it in the appropriate place in your skeleton. You don't have to know the artist's name, but if you do, by all means credit them for their hard work. If you drew your own pic, feel more than free to credit yourself for a job well done.

8. PM all profiles to Animeprincess_9400! Entitle them whatever you like so long as I know that it is intended for MANIFEST DESTINY, as I tend to use similar profile skeletons for a lot of my roleplays and I see no need to go out of my way to make a gawdy new one for this particular thread.

9. Conflict makes the world go 'round! If you have any ideas for future plotlines or events if/when things start to get stale but you don't know if they'll fly, just let me know and I'm certain we could work out something awesome.

Name: Balthazar Schwarzvogel
Gender: Male
Species: Demon
Age: A couple thousand years old.
Bio: Balthazar's story is a complicated one to tell. The best place to start would be with his social standing. He's one of two kings of the demon realm, although there used to only be one. He and the other king, Kaistern, used to be one being. But a traumatizing incident in Kaistern's childhood led to a bipolar, split personality. The other personality, Balthazar, grew into his own being, creating a power struggle for control of the body. But over time, they realized they weren't so different and had a mutual love for Ophelia and they found a way to split Balthazar off to be his own man. Not wanting to have another situation like before, they came to an agreement that both could be king as unofficial brothers. Kaistern would handle the political matters and Balthazar would handle the physical matters, their duties pandering to their respective strengths. With everyone in agreement, they've also become the first case of royal polygamy with two kings and a queen. Despite the happy medium, however, Balthazar felt a tad useless, lacking the smarts Kaistern had as king. So when the expedition to the island was brought up, he volunteered to go and oversee things, planning to leave the castle anyway where he might do more good out in the field than from the throne.

Appearance: Tall and lean, Balthazar has light gray skin and deep black hair that falls to his shoulders and usually kept in a somewhat messy style. He has a piercing pair of yellow eyes, and tall horns that go straight up. As with most demons, he has rather sharp teeth and claws, and also sports a set of claw mark like scars going diagonally across his face. He also has the ragged scar of a rather large stab wound on his stomach, but that's usually covered by his clothing, either the more casually clothes of upper society, or some nice set of light armor should the need arise, both always in some combination of black, yellow, purple, and sometimes red on occassion.
Other: Technically only married through proxy. He hadn't been released from Kaistern's head when he got married, so he's been thinking of proposing again for his own peace of mind. And for obvious reasons, he and Kaistern aren't technically brothers, but calls him such anyway for the sake of convenience of himself and everyone else.

Bio: Believe it or not, this is the current Queen of the Demonic people and quite obviously the mother of its current heir. What's more unbelievable is that Ophelia was once apparently a normal human woman. Through obviously magical means she traded her mortality for agelessness and a never-ending thirst for the life forces of others. As she can't just keep feeding on the help, she and her two husbands have been tirelessly looking for an alternative source of life essence only to hear the rumors of the life giving stones from the newly discovered island. Not that the common people are too aware of her dire circumstances, or any reason beyond expanding to make room for the rapidly booming population.

Unfortunately, one day, the king grew ill, and the welfare of a sword was not one of his priorities. Caledfwlch was abandoned in the back of the Royal Armory. In the intervening time period, he has gone quite mad.

A dog of the government, Ren became famous when it came to conquering lands and the such. Demanded that he be the first of his race to travel to the land with the magical stones, Ren set off to obey.

Bio: Scarlet is the oldest daughter of one of the miners sent to gather the life-giving stones of the new island. Instead of following in her father's footsteps, however, she plans on opening her own bakery. (She has quite the talent for cooking, in fact!) Well, she plans on doing so if she ever gets the opprotunity - which is highly unlikely considering her family's complete lack of wealth. Even if her dream seems impossible at best Scarlet's still fairly happy with her life as a whole. She has a loving and supportive family, plenty of opprotunities to cook and hunt, and of course a strange new world to explore to her heart's content...and her family's exasperation.

Bio: Merewif was born in the midst of the war and lost her mother as a child, so she has very little recollection of her. She has never married nor had any interest in such affairs, in spite of her father's wishes to keep the ancient traditions and the bloodline alive. Merewif would rather delve into her [quite scandalous] obsession with machines in order to take revenge on the human race that took her mother away. She's even considered wiping out the demons for interacting with such a foul species. In spite of coming from a powerful family, she sees and knows that the magic is dying on the planet and knows that the elves need to at least accept machines in order to survive...and stay beautiful, of course.
Likes: Swimming, sea creatures, small animals, human inventions, potions (especially cosmetics), walking and wandering in forests, jewelry, fables of the beast-folk, and research.
Dislikes: Most humans, plastic, unnecessary explosions, the smell of a dirty demon, anyone telling her she's wrong - especially when she knows she is, and weapons - even though she's quite adept with a javelin.

From the start they seemed friendly enough willing to help the tribe with things that have plagued them since what they were told there technology was not enough for it. Tho he was interested he has started to distrust the creatures intentions as they found out about there stones. Tho most still keep there true intentions hidden Cryon knows there is something larger swelling.

With no other option the elder entrusted their villages stone to him. Traveling for a while has learnt to forgive those humans who had no part in the destruction of his village.

Bio: This young she-wolf was a bit wary when new creature invaded her people's homeland and would continually tell her parents to be careful with them running around. Even so, these invaders eventually ransacked the village she and her mother and father lived in when Alexia was 18 years old. She had to watch her own parents die in front of her eyes before she could escape to freedom. Nowadays, she will never even give a soft glance to these killers; she wants them dead.

He doesn't remember much of what happened, but at least, he knows Alexia is not his birth mother, just "adoptive" mother if you may.

Bio: Lenore very much disliked her life in the forests. Her tribe was nomadic and constantly moving. It was hard especially on Lenore, who was young at the time and felt very lost without having a “home”. Lenore saw how the humans lived, with their many buildings and the type of technology that promised them happiness. And Lenore desired that. She wanted it. She was always one to day dream and explore. And when she found the right time to escape, she did. She adopted a last name, a human thing to do, and began her new life. Lenore’s life quickly turned around. Now, Lenore takes pride in her trade as a con artist. She trades mediocre supplies and gadgets of all sorts, telling fortunes, using magic tricks with her elvish magic and scams people into getting what she wants. Illegal or not, Lenore knows very well how to get her hands on anything, and will do anything she so wishes.
Yet she realizes she will not live forever. Lenore thus seeks the power to remain youthful. She knows her own magic, which has turned minimal over the years, cannot sustain her for long, so she has travelled to the lands to get her hands on one stone for herself.
Likes: Money, since it is power to her; gullible people, prime in her scams; luxurious things, she's developed a taste in the finery of life; food and wine, she's grown into liking to eat human food; and getting what she wants, even though she wants a lot of things
