Wren entered her suite after testing Bowen and simply stood for a long moment looking out over the garden, wondering at her reaction to him. She finally shook her head and moved to take a shower and change. She dressed in a simple pair of golden tights, boots and tunic, her long hair braided down to keep it out of the way and her weapons in place.
She turned at a knock on her main door and opened it to let the servant in with her meal, leaving the door open as she sat down on her knees on one of the cushions in front of the low table to enjoy her meal, nodding when she noticed another servant already carrying a tray of food to the suite she'd reserved for Borias.

Bowen was surprised she healed him and then surprised the ones who were rude to him before were now being polite. He inwardly shook his head. Once he was in his suite which was down the hall from Wren`s, he sat down on a cushion and sighed as it was soft.
It felt good to sit.
Then there was a knock and before he could get up a tray of food was brought in and left on the small table next to his cushion. He thanked the elf before they left him alone.
It all looked very good and he was very hungry....he hadnt eaten in several days and if he gorged now....
He nibbled here and there and forced himself to lay down afterwards and nap.

Wren finished her meal and stood, gathering up a book as she headed for the double doors that lead to a small balcony then the gardens. She took a seat out there on the railing to read in the fading sunlight, grateful for the coming evening. Euphradion would be settling in for the night to enjoy his mother's company then go to sleep. This was the only time she had to herself these days and she enjoyed taking it.
She finally lowered the book and simply watched the sun set, a sight she hadn't gotten to enjoy very much over the centuries. She didn't see what the colors of the setting sun did to her, though, turning her from a pale and untouchable statue to a woman of beauty full of color and life.
As night fell, though, she returned to that ethereal creature of legend, the untouchable female that every male wanted in his dreams. A slight breeze moved around her, making her close her eyes and give a small smile at the scents that moved around her.

Wren finally moved back inside, leaving the garden doors open and headed into her bedroom where she changed into a gown. It was as golden as her eyes, the silk hugging her curves, held up by two thin straps over her shoulders as it fell to her knees. She blew out the candles in her rooms and pushed the main door closed most of the way, still leaving the garden doors open to let the breeze in as well as her bedroom door. She finally crawled under the covers, finding herself tired from the long day. It took her a little bit, but she finally fell asleep. But after so long alone and locked out of time, Wren's dreams were far from peaceful... She was walking down the corridors of the castle and entered her room, looking out the glass doors to the hazy white landscape she was so familiar with. She was still dressed in the gold silk nightgown, her arms crossed over her chest but looking as if she were cold. She even had goosebumps along her arms, feeling as if she were somehow being watched despite the fact that she knew she was alone here. She was always alone and knew she always would be and part of her had accepted that fact. But now, here, she somehow knew that someone was watching her. And they didn't feel right, almost evil.
She shivered where she stood, her golden eyes searching the white landscape outside the doors as she tried to find who was looking at her, not knowing that they were already in the castle with her. Then she was grabbed from behind, a dagger to her throat, drawing a startled sound from her. The arms holding her were strong, bruising her pale skin already as a growling voice at her ear spoke in a harsh whisper, "Mine...," the man said simply.Wren gave a small scream and sat up in the bed fast, not realizing that she'd been tossing around in her sleep and wound up falling out of the bed to land on her a** with her legs tangled in the covers. She looked around the room quickly then down at her arms, giving another scream when she saw the bruises on her arms. She fingered her throat and gave another startled scream when she felt the small cut where the dagger in her dream had nicked her, the fear that the man in her dream had managed to hurt her in both dream and the real world was enough to have her scrambling away from the bed until her back hit the wall with her golden eyes wide and her body shivering as a thin trickle of her blood moved from the cut on her neck to soak into the golden silk of her nightgown.

Bowen had no idea how exhausted he was until he fell asleep and he continued to sleep late into the evening. His dreams were blissfully blank and for the first time he felt at ease. Sleeping out in the wilderness in different realms always on guard, made for a stressful sleep.
He was about to fall into that much alluded deep sleep when he heard the scream and he was up grabbing his sword. He was running out the door and into the hallway moving faster than the guards who came rushing. He went to Wren's door and found it open. He thrust it open and found her on the floor a hand to her throat. The guards searched her room after he barked the order for them to do so, as he kneeled by her side.
"Are you alright? Do you know who hurt you?"
He asked as he saw the blood on her golden silken nightgown.
When she didn't answer he was reaching forward and moving her hand away from her neck to look at her wound.

Wren was shaking when Bowen pulled her hand away from the cut on her neck, blinking as if she finally saw him in that moment, "No one attacked me here... I was dreaming... He grabbed me, put a dagger to my throat, said 'mine' to me... The dagger started to move and I woke up... I've never had a dream where I woke up with the injuries...," she told him softly, her voice shaking and showing that she was at least a little frightened.
Seeing Wren afraid had a strange effect on the guards. Instead of being more confident in her, they were less confident in her. After all, as old and powerful as she was, there shouldn't be anything she was afraid of by now...
By the time she finished explaining what had happened, the bruises on her arms and around her waist were showing up in stark relief against her pale skin, proving what she was saying.
For someone to attack her in the dream realm and make the attack travel through to the real world was an almost unheard-of ability. And it seemed that someone with that ability was now fixated on Wren in a rather unhealthy way.
The guards told Bowen that they didn't see anyone in her rooms or outside then they left him to take care of Wren, closing the door behind them and leaving Bowen to handle her and the problem...

Bowen nodded to the guards who then let themselves out of her room and they went to take their stations they left.
Bowen placed a hand on her shoulder and guided her to relax back against her pillows.
"What else can you tell me? Is there anything in particular you remember? Perhaps a smell? The sound of his voice?"
He looked at the bruising on her arm and measured it with his own. The man's hands were almost as big as his own.

Wren finally forced herself to stop shaking and took a deep breath before speaking again, "Just a few things really... I felt like I was being watched and it felt almost evil to me... Then he grabbed me and put the dagger to my throat... His voice was soft but growly, as if he didn't use it much... He was taller than I am... Probably about as tall as you are, maybe a bit more... And he was strong, stronger than I am... That's about it..." she said, hesitating over the details until she was sure of them before speaking them out loud.
She put her hand to her neck and found that it wasn't healing, that it was still bleeding and gave a small growl of frustration over it, "There's a kit in the bathroom, in the cabinet on the opposite wall from the door... I need to get the bleeding stopped and bandage it, at least...," she said softly, hating the fact that someone had gotten to her like this when there had been nothing of the sort for centuries...

Wren entered the suite and moved straight for her closet, removing her first set of clothes for tomorrow: the same outfit she'd worn when she'd chosen him but with his personal crest newly stitched in black and gold on it.
She knew it had to be his mother's idea and approved of it, knowing that it would separate him from his father in one subtle move that would be unmistakable.
She pulled out a small trunk for her second outfit but hesitated to open the trunk, her hand gently running over the top for a moment. Then she opened it and pulled out the dress and laid it on the bed, followed by the boots, gloves, and a piece of folded silk. When she wore it for the reception, she would be giving an answer to someone she didn't know. But she couldn't think of a better time for it.
Her second outfit was a traditional wedding trousseau for a Golden-Eyed Elf. She'd spoken to one of them in her dreams since she'd brought the castle out of hiding and considered that it might have been him. But she knew better. Very few people could get through the wards set up on the castle and most of those were gods. She picked up the bundle of folded silk and caressed it with one hand without unfolding it. If she did so, it would take hours to fold it back up. It was a full veil made of sheer silk and embroidered at the edges with rose vines in gold and would cover her from head to toe on all sides. She knew because she'd tried it on once, then had spent three hours folding it back up.
She set the veil back into the trunk along with the gloves, knowing that she wouldn't need them, and focused on the dress. She finally gave a soft sigh and nodded, hoping she was doing the right thing.
She finally set everything aside for tomorrow and got into bed to sleep.
Thankfully, it was dreamless this time and she woke up refreshed and put on her first outfit for the day then left the suite and headed for the throne room where their guests were gathered and waiting.

Rowan carried Wren into her suite and gently put her in her bed where he undressed her and got her under her covers then set himself to considering her room.
She'd decorated the place with very few things that were personal. Those things she kept in a special trunk at the foot of her bed. The rest of her suite was decorated in a very subtle style, meant to automatically put one at ease. Everything was done in natural shades; browns, golds, bronzes, coppers, soft greens and dark reds. Everything was soothing. And there was not a single spot of white at all.
Only her clothes possessed any white throughout the suite, marking that it was not her favorite color.
And now, she slept in her large bed, with her hair spread out around her pale face. While she was healed from the attack, her energy did need to restore itself. Only rest would do that.
As it was, she slept for two days. As she slept, the funeral passed. Rowan watched over the king in her place and oversaw those that came to swear allegiance and forge treaties with Eru.
Then, on the third morning, Rowan was sitting on the side of Wren's bed, knowing she would wake at any moment. As the sun rose, her golden eyes opened, his face the first thing she saw. She gave him a shy smile and wondered what to say to him, a little shocked to find herself wanting to kiss him again...

The last few days had been busy as Rowan had taken over Wren's duties as she healed up and regained lost energy. At first some were uneasy that Wren was not around, but as a 'priest' that was accepted by the lady, questions and suspicion upon him eased some. Rowan had been sure to check on wren after daily affairs to check on her health, and watch over her. Today was the third day and as the sun rose, so did wren.
A shy smile spread across her delicate features, lighting up as bright as the sun. He smiled to her as he leaned forward in his chair.
"Good Morning my sleeping beauty. How do you feel?"
Rowan wanted to move closer to the bed but he knew if he did move any closer, he would probably pin her to it and do things he promised he would wait on doing.

Wren gave him a shy smile and sat up in the bed, bringing the sheet with her. She knew how much time had passed, her connection to the castle ensured it. But now she had something else to think about besides getting up and doing her duty. She cleared her throat as she watched him, his smile actually making her blush a bit, "I feel much better... Restored, even..." she told him softly, part of her wondering if she'd only imagined the kiss he'd given her while she wondered why he was keeping away from her like he was. Admittedly, she'd needed the time to restore her energy, but now her imagination was running rampant. She couldn't stop thinking about that kiss and how it could have ended differently. She'd even dreamed about it. She knew that he wanted things to go slow between them and she'd accepted that but she had no idea what to do in this situation. No one had ever tried to court her. Hell, no one had ever made a pass at her...

Rowan wished she would forget about the sheet and allow him to garner a peek. No, he told himself....be patient.
"I am glad you are feeling restored. You had many people of this court and others, worried. I think some thought I had incapacitated you."
In his mind he had a dirty thought as his inner voice laughed as it told him how 'yeah, shes incapacitated....too much passionate bed thumping will do that.' Thank heavens his inner voice could be silenced easily.
"Today seems like a fine day to go outside. I think fresh air and a good meal are in order. Would....would you like to do that with me?"
Of all things the god was capable of, asking for a date was way out there for him.

Wren's eyes moved over his face as he spoke then watched his hands as he asked her to have a meal with him outside, her mind on the things he could do with his hands that had her blushing. She cleared her throat and raised her eyes back to his face, still blushing, and gave him a small nod and a smile. "I would like that..." she said softly. Then she realized that she would have to get dressed and blushed again, "Um... I should probably... get dressed for that..." she said and tried to figure out why she was suddenly so body-shy around him. She'd never had a problem with that before. Her body had been nothing more than a tool to her, something to hone and train for her duties. She'd never considered her body in terms of a man looking at it before, much less doing the things she'd read about.
