Things had not gone so well for Jae, her expectations having been crushed immediately upon meeting the Yukikage. Snow was rising in power and their Kage was too laid back. What Nakura had told her played over and over again in her mind, driving her partially mad. She needed an outlet and training would provide just that. First, she needed to clear her mind. Jae sat on the ledge of a window, facing the outside of the academy. Leaving it open, she let the crisp air clear her mind. Settling into a meditative state she pushed all of the unwanted thoughts out of her mind.

[1/5]
Once she had calmed down she began to train, starting with the basics. It was important to have proper control over ones chakra. The more precise you are the less chakra you waste during a battle. Jae's thoughts returned to her earlier opponents match. It had been her fault completely for the mistakes she had made and she would not mess up again. Jae activated her chakra, no particular jutsu she had in mind to use. It was just control after all.
[2/5]
First she was going to try moving her chakra to her feet. Something they already learned about but it didn't hurt to do it until it became second nature, just like breathing. It was easier than she would have expected, the chakra accumulating immediately at her feet, the sensation in her toes was a little tingling feeling.
[3/5]
Next she decided to channel it to her hands. Immediately she started this, figuring it might one day be imperative for her to go from one jutsu to another. Jae's chakra accumulated in her hands, the chakra taking a physical form. It was eerie to see but was signs that she was doing it correctly.
[4/5]
Jae tried applying more amounts of chakra, failing at first and then getting the hang of it as she concentrated. The visible chakra in her hands brightened, the amount large. As she pulled chakra out the chakra level in her hands dropped, the flickering of it lazy. Jae focused on dropping the level so much that it was a thin line glowing around her hand.
[5/5]
Thinking it would be fun to try, Jae sat completely still, trying to force as much chakra out of her entire body as possible. At first nothing happened, a sheen of sweat forming on her brow as she tried to draw it out into a physical aura around her. Gritting her teeth she tried once more, the chakra steaming out of her but still not glowing around her as she would have liked. Figuring that was enough of that, she stopped. Standing she stretched, it was time to start her jutsu training. She was going to need some scrolls.

Having acquired a scroll from within the academy itself, Jae got to work immediately. Going over the scroll carefully, she mimicked the hand signals that were instructed to be used. She did not apply any chakra to it yet until she was able to complete the hand signal circuit once without having to refer back to the scroll. After a few rounds of this she felt more comfortable, checking the scroll once more to follow through with the technique. A big mistake that she had made during her battle was the improper use of her clones as a diversion. Against stronger opponents if they were easily figured out it was pointless to summon them as a diversion. It would just waste chakra. Jae was going to create clones that held physical form and would not be easily differentiated. Moving to the window, she figured she would use the snow as a basis for her suiton element. Going through the hand signals quickly she applied her chakra into the technique evenly, not wanting to waste any more than she had to. The water from the snow broke down into a liquid state, in an instant an exact replica of Jae was standing before her, staring at her with a dull expression. Jae leaned closer to the clone, checking to see if there were any mistakes. Smirking, she considered it perfect and pulling out a kunai from her pouch she slashed at it, the defenseless clone dispersing completely.

Now that she was moving, Jae shoulder was beginning to ache a little, the wound was not as deep as Shigeru's had been but it was still something that caused pain. Wincing, she pushed the pain out of her mind, as her parents had taught her and continued on. Putting back the first scroll she had gotten, she fished out another one, Fuuton. Something about the wind element please Jae greatly and it was exciting to think that she would begin practicing with it now. As she had duely noted during her battle, without a tantamount amount of supplies explosive tags were useless. Jae wanted something that could go off with a band and cause damage, elemental damage. Kaze Bakuhatsu Jae read, pulling out the scroll and reading it. Smiling at her good fortune she pulled it out and began to read it.
[1/3]
Going through her hand signal once again, she read and re-read the scroll a few times prior to even doing anything. The hand signals were basic and what this technique focused more on was the precision of chakra control and manipulation of the wind around the chakra. If done properly the wind/chakra combo could be thrown at someone, having the same impact as an explosion. Slowly going through the hand signals, she activated her chakra, concentrating it into the palm of her hand.
[2/3]
The chakra continued to swirl as she fed more and more of it into it. Once she had a continues swirling spehere she focused on calling forth the wind she needed. As soon as she tried this the chakra became imbalanced and disbursed, Jae stomping her foot in frustration.Trying once more, she flew through the hand signals, trying this in a different approach. It was more difficult but she called both the chakra and wind element at the same time, molding them into a spherical ball in the palm of her hand. Using her chakra, she gave it shape and form while the inner parts became packed with condensed wind.
[3/3]
Feeling secure with her creation she pivoted and swiveled her hips, using the gained momentum to hurl the wind ball at nothing particular. It reached a certain point and then both the chakra and intermixed wind element reacted to each other and it imploded, pushing out an explosion as the chakra and wind tried to over power the other. The wind lashed out invisibly in several direction, if someone had been standing there they would have suffered minor cuts at least.

Totally absorbed in what she was doing, Jae did not feel her energy depleting and took no notice of the fatigue she ought to have felt accompanied with it. Her shoulder wound had opened slightly, the puckering scar had still been soft tissue and it was cracking, small spots of blood speckling her bandage as it began to soak through with more effort she expended. Putting away the scroll she had just learned from she skimmed through the collection, looking for something she could use. Immediately something else called to her, Jae grabbing a scroll and pulling it out. Boufuu Kyouzuu no Jutsu. It was a jutsu used when surprised and caught of guard. It was good for using as a defensive last resort against such surprise attacks. Taking the scroll with her to her practicing area, she took a seat, her legs giving out on her strangely. She dismissed the reaction and went over the technique.
[1/3]
Going through the hand signal clumsily, Jae perfected the combination before finally getting to her feet. It took her a little effort to do so but she dismissed the notion of being fatigued. Now, she prepared to apply her chakra, going through the hand signals more quickly and ending with the tell tale sound of chakra being activated to a jutsu. She sent out a wave of physical chakra, the chakra distilling the air around her. As this occurred, a short burst of air follwed suit and pushed outwawrds, anything that would have been in a short range around her would have been knocked backwards.
[2/3]
Wanting to strength her range, she looked around for some dummies to use. Pulling them out from the supply room, she set it up in front of her. Once again, she went through the hand signals and activated her chakra, sending it out in an instantaneous chop of raw energy. The chakra mingled with the wind and created a sort of burst of it's own. The dummy she was using rattled, side to side before being flung back. It could not resist against the force.
[3/3]
Still wanting to test the range of this technique, she pushed the dummy back, setting it up a few more feet away. Doing everything in exactly the same pattern she pushed her chakra out, the wind reacting and sending a burst. The dummy flew back, just as it had prior but it did not go as far as it had compared to the distance of the other one. That meant that whatever was closest to her would feel the effects the greatest. This made sense. The technique was defensive and used when one was surprised. It was instantaneous and would probably save her butt in case she ever got careless.

Slowly, Jae opened her eyes, realizing that at some point in her meditation she had fallen asleep. Getting up, she realized her shoulder was extra stiff today. Something she had not expected to feel, her injuries having been healed the day before. Getting up, she stalked off to the back room, her teeth chattering. Stripping off her sweater, she realized the bandage was spotted around her wound. Cringing, Jae knew what the repercussions were going to be. She needed to find some bandages to re-wrap herself. If she went to the hospital they would just scold her for her reckless antics. Heck no... She settled, slipping her clothes on and leaving. She would come back, once she sorted this out. There was still so much to learn. Going home was out of the question for her. Her parents would not let her hear the end of it, growling at her for being indecent and spending two nights away from home. The young kunoichi was not really up to a lecture.

Shigeru's footsteps were quick as he ran through the streets. He kept his arms back for balance as his speed increased. He only moved his shoulder back if someone got to close, he did not want to slow down. Shigeru saw the academy nearing and shifted his body so that he slid to a stop at the entrance. Shige then stepped forward with a bounce in his step and walked through the academy halls. He remembered where everything was since it had not been long ago that he graduated. Shigeru found the academy library and went to return his scroll to it's place. In the same area, he found the scrolls for the style he was working on. He took two scrolls. One for stage three and another for stage four. Shigeru then looked for another scroll that would help him with the Celestial Gates. He found the area but saw that it was restricted to high level shinobi. Shigeru took the scroll he needed and placed them all in his coat for a total of three scrolls. Shige quickly jogged out of the academy and darted towards the snowfield.

Jae did not want to return home, if she did they would not let her leave. For some reason, her family was getting all jazzed about her upcoming birthday, both parents getting even more harsh with her training. Jae was expected to learn at accelerated rates with training material that was sometimes beyond her. Although her father said it would benefit later on Jae was very doubtful it would. Basics was on her mind at this point and returning to the academy to train seemed appropriate.

[1/5]
Taking a seat, Jae concentrated on her breathing and feeling her energies stir inside of her. It was important to be very in tune with your chakra, something Jae was learning to control more and more as she grew as a Kunoichi. Clearing her mind of unwanted things, she shut her eyes, simply getting a feel for everything around her. Her sense were highly sensitive as she patiently gathered her concentration.
[2/5]
Letting out a slight stirring of breath, she opened her eyes and began the basic training. Slowly, she reviewed basic hand signals, practicing the older ones and newer ones at a painfully slow pace. As a shinobi, it was important to know these hand gestures and it was doubly important to go through them with speed and accuracy. Even a split hesitation could spell doom.
[3/5]
Picking up the pace a little bit she continued on with her training, getting a little anxious as she went. This was so boring. There plenty of other thing she could be doing but starting at the basics before every session was mandatory. If there was a chance that should could improve that much faster with this training she would grit her teeth and comply. It was not as if she had other things to do.
[4/5]
Already out of her mind with boredom, she stopped, deciding to practice her chakra control. That was something that felt more concrete versus the boring circuit of endless hand signals. Taking in a small breath she guided her chakra to specific points on her body. Starting with the soles of her feet, then to her stomach and then to the palms in her hands.
[5/5]
Once again, Jae attempted to force a thin line of chakra around her body. Nothing happened the first few times and when she had finally gotten a good grip on it it only steamed out in whisps of energy tendrils. Starting with her hands, she guided the chakra up her arm and across her chest. By that time she was soaking in sweat and decided to call it a wrap. She was warmed up enough.

After a full day of walking in the freezing cold, Zenphon had finally arrived at the academy. As he walked in through the entrance, he wistled once. It was a very quick and powerful whistle meant for an animal. Soon after the whistle, a navy blue and white dog came running through the snow from behind Zen. It was his pup, Yuki, who had just been given to him from his mother not too much earlier. She was running with quite some power as all pups do, but she ran a little too hard and when she tried to stop as Zen's side, she slid past him, stumbling and try to catch herself as she slid. When Yuki had finally balanced herself out, she sat with her tongue out and tail wagging. She was huffing and licking her lips, as if she were exhausted but at the same time, it appeared as if she was smiling. Zen chuckled at her little mishap as he walked in. He had whistled to tell Yuki to stay outside and wait, which is what she did. He walked in and heard someone panting. It was light and feminine. He tried to locate the source of the panting with a somewhat puzzled look on his face as he tried to match the voice of the pant to one of his classmates. He slowly approached a door to his left and slid it open, slowly as to not startle whoever was training. As the door slid open, a view of Jae slowly started to become more and more clear.

"Hey there."

Zen said as he took a step through the doorway. He then stepped to his left, crossed his arms and leaned up against the wall behind him. He had a smile on his face as he did so.

Already warmed up and ready to go, Jae was about to move into the backrooms to fish out scrolls when she heard the faint crunch of something plowing through the snow at a clumsy stride. It had been a distraction enough that Jae had stopped to listen to it. Not long after that, she could feel the faint presence of someone heading towards the very room she occupied. Her gaze flickered immediately towards the door. It was only fractions of a second later that they slid open, as if on par with her intuition and in popped Zenphon, a student that had been in the academy with her when she had attended. He had graduated at the same time as she as well although their ages were different. It was wonderful that academies did not hold back those who were proficient. As he nonchalantly struck a pose of mock comfort as he leaned against the wall, Jae returned his smile with one of her own.
"Woah! Zenphon! How kind of you to grace us with your presence." Her words were figurative and sarcastic but there was no malice in her tone. Usually her smiles were forced and false but she truly was glad to see someone from school. As of late she had been in a foul mood and training was her only distraction from it. It was getting to be a tad bit too routine for the girl.

Zen chuckled at her mockery of him. He always viewed her as a little comedian and enjoyed her company. But he didn't have much time for chat, for he had just remembered what he came there for. With a quick bump with his back, he pushed himself off the wall and uncrossed his arms. The smile still on his face, he slowly took off his jacket, revealing a black t-shirt and a small silver necklace that dangled above his heart. He looked to his left at a small stand with bokken racked up on it. He slowly walked over and picked one up with his right hand. He moved his wrist in a circular motion, causing the bokken to twirl around. Zen was just testing it's weight and control ability. After it was done twirling, he looked down at it, as if examining it.

"Ya know, it's been a while since we've last sparred in the academy."

Soon after he spoke, he tossed the bokken in his hand to Jae, knowing she would catch it. He then quickly picked another up with his left hand and tossed it to his right hand. He then slowly started to walk towards her until he was about 5 feet away, at which point he stopped. He had a somewhat evil smirk on his face. He wasn't trying to be scary or anything, he was just excited to battle with a former classmate.

"So, you up for it?" He said, his bright green eyes unwavering and strong.

Watching Zenphon with dying curiosity, she pondered mildly what he was doing. It wasn't until he had picked up the wooden sword that she caught on to his antics. Her smile dimmed down a bit, a casual smirk replacing it. "Ya know, it's been a while since we've last sparred in the academy." He said mildly then, his gaze fixed on the tool. Jae was not a dunce and knew where he was already headed with this. As if on par with her own thoughts, he threw the weapon at her, Jae reaching out instinctively to catch it, her grip loose as she weighed the practice sword in turn. It was light, not as hollowed out as she would have liked but it was not impossible to wield. Truth be told, she abhorred practicing with such things. She was no Bukijutsu specialist and had no reserve for it but passing up a sparring match was not in her nature. Watching as he approached her with that impish persona, she scoffed, shaking her head as if there was no other way. "Not even two seconds since our reunion and you already have a proposal for me. I feel so sought after." She teased, tossing a lose strand of pink hair that had spilled over her shoulder back into place to join the others that hung in a long wave along her back. Slipping into the weak stance all beginners were taught when learning to wield anything that was an extension of their bodies, Jae answered his challenge with actions instead of words. Her form was decent, nothing impressive or professional but what she lacked in technique she usually made up for in her agility. "So, no Ninjutsu then. How sad." She added with a little puff, giving on the air of a pouting child.

Her mood had been lightened extremely at the thought of sparing with an old classmate but that impish smile faded quickly as she stood there staring at Zenphon. Jae was no longer a child, idly passing time by doing pointless things. The gap in her power had been big and made blatantly obvious by the girl she had fought in the mountains, on both accounts. She needed strength, not companionship and sparing. Her grip tightened on the make shift sword momentarily before she released it, letting it clatter to the floor. Her expression became more reserved, a giddy and nervous laugh ensued. "Sorry Zenphon. I'll have to get a rain check on this one. " She ducked her head in an apologetic bow and the darted off towards the exit, her face a little flushed. She needed to train in solitude while she awaited the opportunity to speak to the Yukikage. She brushed past the exit and outside, the cold immediately adding more color to her face. In her haste she didn't even take notice of Zenphons companion.

Nia Ketsueki

It had been a silent retreat to a private room in the academy. Nia had a stranger learning process than most, because of his specialization. The only real bonus to it all was the lack of a need for Groaning at the sight of basics, he turned to look at his thumb. Akaishi.

[1/4]

Biting into his thumb, he watched the blood trickle from his thumb into the capped palm of his. Letting it swirl about in his palm, Nia smiled to himself. It was plain, but it was nice enough.

[2/4]

The swirling fluid seemed to retain form more. Chakra flowing ever so freely from the palm of his hand. The little droplets stuck, a sheen of crystal like qualities. It seemed that it wasn't going to be as difficult as the violinist thought it would.

[3/4]

Now that it retained its shape, and that was most important. Chakra was pumped carelessly into the little bead, relishing in victory, the performer laughed.

[4/4]
[Saiketsu: Akaishi Learned]

Looking onward, the boy read the next technique on the list. Drawing blood from his single pour, to create a needle. That didn't sound... Pleasant. It sounded irritating. Looking to the hand of his, he took on a fierce look. As if trying to force it.

[1/3]

After a few minutes of staring it seemed fairly useless. Closing his eyes, he let the blood run normally through his veins, as he coaxed the track to deviate ever so slightly to his index finger. A trickle seemed to bubble free from it.

[2/3]

With chakra flowing freely, the small font of blood crystalized. Longer and longer, it found itself in solid form. Just a simple needle, but more than enough, it was a pleasing bit.

[3/3]
[Saiketsu: Sasu no Hari Learned]

Again, the performer looked over the scroll. The array of needles was next in line, and that only pleased him. He could take the time to learn this one properly. Setting the violin aside for the moment, his palm was presented openly.

[1/5]

Focusing on what he'd utilized with the previous technique, he let the blood redirect itself calmly. Pooling beneath the skin, the pressure built, and the performer thought simply. A layer of chakra coating the palm of his hand.

[2/5]

The blood let itself loose freely. The fifteen strands fired, crystalizing at the very touch of the air. It seemed the system was a bit better than he had hoped for the time being. There were only a couple of bits left to cover now.

[3/5]

Raising Alistair upon his shoulder, Fay slid easily from his hip. The small area on the back where it wasn't sharpened and covered with a thin layer of steel settled easily. Playing a moment to warm up, Nia turned to play a small bit. The bow hummed and whined against the strings. A proper tune it seemed.

[4/5]

The bow flipped easily again. The light bow's handle slipped between his index and middle finger, the blood pooling again. The needles flew quickly, shattering against the wall with force. The bow called Fay flipped back into his palm once more.

Entering the icy, yet beautiful academy, Ranson sighed. Furtively, he found a soundproofed room, one with no one in it, and entered. Barring the door behind him, he pulled out his family scroll and read it. He'd have to start with the basics, he supposed, even though he really didn't want to.
1/4 Koukou no Hekkai

Reading the instructions carefully, he nodded and gave a small smile. Concentrating, he watched as a few tiny mouths unfurled in his skin. He seemed a bit puzzled, because that was not how it was suppose to go at all. He'd been trying for at least 10, but he only got a measly 4? Hrrmph. He let the jutsu go and concentrated some more.
2/4

He noticed a couple of diagrams in the corner, and nodded. Concentrating once more, he took a pose, focused on his internal strength, and watched as several dozen mouths unfurled on various parts around his body. That was more like it... but still there was something wrong. They weren't producing any sound.
3/4

Confused, he wondered about this for a few seconds, before deciding it was because he was hesitant about singing. He remembered how he'd been pushed to sing, even when all he'd wanted to do was play an instrument, and after several moments of intense thought, eventually got past it enough that the mouths began producing a simple song. Nodding, he let the mouths furl back up, and returned to looking like his normal self.
