Doc smiled at the clones response. "I'm going to work on some ninjutsu now. So don't worry." Doc replied. He pulled out an earth scroll and read through it for some techniques to learn. After reading through it, he picked one out that he thought would be helpful. Doc formed the hand signs and focused on a certain place in the room. Doc put his hand over his right eye to keep it closed. Once he did this, the sand in the area that he focused on started moving around. It quickly came together and formed an eyeball of sand. Kaori gave Knives a shy smile when he released her, but gasped in awe when he kicked the knife into the dummy’s head, “Oh wow...” She said as she blinked. Nova grinned, “That was awesome!” She praised as she jumped over to inspect the damage. Kaori nodded and fiddled with a few loose strands of her silvery-white hair as she looked around the training room, before she looked back at Knives, “Thank you for your help.” She smiled slightly at him. Nova bounced back over, “Yeah, thanks!”

Kaori watched Knives and hesitated for a moment, She needed to learn more hand to hand techniques, just in case she was separated from Nova or was without her jutsu for whatever reason. She couldn’t rely solely on jutsu and Nova after all. But should she ask Knives for help? He seemed busy, but he had told her to ask him for help if she needed it. Nova nudged her, “You seem to want to ask tall dark and strong something.” Kaori gave Nova a look, “Hush before he hears you! He’s busy!”

Knives sighed and finished up with the new academy kids, they were afraid of him, but they all knew he was the best when it came to Bukijutsu and Taijutsu.

Nova nudged Kaori, “Go and ask, the worst he can do is say no.” She told her more timid, at least in social situations, partner. Kaori took a deep breath and nodded, “I guess...” She mumbled before she squared her shoulders and walked over to Knives, “Um... excuse me, I hate to be a bother, but I was wondering... if you could help me with hand to hand, or weapons training? I don’t want to rely solely on my jutsu or Nova, never know what could happen on the field after all.”

Knives chuckled at Kaori and the way she thought she was being a bother. "Took you long enough silly." He said with a slight pat on the head. "Been wondering how long it was going to take you to come over and ask. I most certainly can help you. Some of my styles may not be best fit for you, for somewhat obvious reasons but the same if not similar mechanics apply to some of the jutsu you can learn." Knives walked off to the library section real quick to pull out two scrolls which he carried on in each arm before placing them down in front of Kaori.
"Go ahead and flip through see what you want to learn. If I know it or if I don't I'll do what I can to teach you. Obviously there is only so much I am allowed to teach you given your rank but you'll learn quick."

Kaori looked through the scrolls intently, she needed something that would work with her smaller frame. But her preferred weapon was a scythe, so she wanted to learn something with that as the primary weapon as well. She looked up at Knives after a while of reading, “Um, what about Sazanami? That looks like it would be perfect for me, being as I’m kinda... small.” She said as she looked back down in an attempt to hide her blush. “And I can’t seem to find anything the utilizes a scythe, the closest technique is Shintō Musō-ryū, and that uses a kisari-gama, rather than a scythe.” She pouted.

Knives chuckled slightly at her comment about being small and then looked over the techniques. "Sazanami, not one I know, but again mechanics are similar we can start there. As for Shinto.. been meaning to maybe look into that one.. seeing as I use these." as he finished his sentence he let one of his butcher's hooks drop from inside his cloak and into his hand and smile at it.
"Suppose if I'm going to teach you I should take off some of my equipment for the time being." He mentioned as he took off his outer cloak revealing his arrangement of weapons strapped to his legs and back. The most interesting though, at least to many was the chains wrapped around his forearms attached to two curved Kukri style blades.
'You sly dog.. hmm no not dog.. hate them.. anyway you did that on purpose. You just want her to see how chiseled you are don't you?!' 'Oh hush, everyone already knows. Though if she takes some more note, hey I'm not complaining. Besides don't need to confuse her anymore with the cloak flapping around etc. Plus i feels lighter without all the gear.
Knives even did something none of the academy students thought he ever did, and normally they were right. Normally he never removed his cowl that covered his face but this was an exception for now.

Kaori watched Knives take off his cloak and show off his gear, and that was a lot of weapons, she was truly impressed, he was a walking arsenal. When he took off his cowl, she blinked, he really was handsome, she blushed at her own thoughts and looked down as she licked her lips, “Those hooks look like they can do a lot of damage.” And she had to admit, that was also impressive, Nova hadn’t been kidding when she’d commented that she was shy and timid in everyday situations, but she was fierce and blood thirsty on the battle field. She looked back up, “I think hand to hand might be best for now.”

Knives chuckled, Nova hadn't be wrong at all. It didn't surprise him. "The Butcher's hooks is what they're named. There's a reason I've got the nickname I've got. If you haven't heard it yet, I'm sure you'll find some intel later with the nickname Butcher on it, whether it be from enemy intel or our own." He said to Kaori making sure his weapons were wrapped tightly in his cloak. He kept a few of his leg weapons on out of habit but he wasn't going to need them.
"Alright let's start with the basics. Let me see your stance, we can adjust it from there, as the stance is the beginnings of everything for any style of fighting." he said his voice changing slightly to a more authoritative tone. Yet, it wasn't full drill instructor, there was still a tone of compassion in it as he cared for all shinobi he taught, and perhaps a bit more for Kaori than others he had taught.

Kaori nodded and stood up. She shrugged off her own tattered purple jacket and moved into an easy, loose, stance that would make it easier for her to redirect momentum, rather than a powerful one. It was a little sloppy, something even she knew was an issue, but that was a bit of a given; since she had virtually no hand to hand experience. She looked up at Knives, “Now what?” She asked, curious but respectful. This was a good way to get to know Knives better, even if it was just through learning.

Knives walked up to her and corrected the stance ever so slightly with his hands and feet. Using his feet to adjust the distance of her legs and feet, and his hands to adjust her body. "You remember this stance? I hope so. Cause I want you to get out of it and practice getting into it a few times until it feels natural. I can see this is new for you, so that's why I want you to remember this over and over.
Knives stepped back and watched, letting Kaori practice before moving on to letting her parry an attack.

Kaori nodded and relaxed out of S/he stance that Knives had put her into, then settled back into it. She repeated this process several times until she had it down to an art, it was now muscle memory, more then just metal memory, "Okay Knives, I think I've got this." She told the larger man.

Now the fun of this stage. Knives chuckled as Kaori took her stance and launched a fist at her. "Better parry my attack." He was prepared to move it if she didn't parry in time, Knives had that control and moved quickly without the added weight it was true. But he was slowed down to Kaori could work on the second part of the style to move his attack out of the way just enough to create an opening to exploit in combat.
