Well, Theodin was definitely not wrong on the situation for a wooden spoon versus a knife. As they walked, Theo took the lead rather quickly and was becoming a small dot in the distance. The hot sun beating on them but Yoshi doesn't seem bothered by it. It was then she had realized something. Her jaws and shoulders were tight. While walking, she closed her eyelids for a moment and did slow breathing. Slowly, her shoulders and jaw relaxed. She changed her mindset. The man had angered her for scaring her friend and seemed to brag about how powerful he was doing so and it was eating her away. She needed to be focus and calm. Not to mention, whatever she was sensing, was obviously bothering her the most. The snow-haired woman silently thought to herself, 'I met a challenge. Now, I just need to figure it out and go from there instead of letting it eat me.' Just like that, her posture changed and she seems less angry and more... Yoshi. They made their way over and she saw a massive wolf. Her lizard brain almost kicked in and flight and fight were about to be in the drive but she had to calm herself and reminded herself that this wolf belonged to the Kazekage. She had a feeling that she was going to be fighting against her survival instincts for awhile being around the wolf. Theodin was already at her side and they seemed to be talking so Yoshi kept her distance and watched the three of them. She also was working any out of place sensing with the cats, wolf, Kazekage, Theodin, and the stranger off to the side.
Being a genin she doesn't have a lot of information of them of course except for one thing. Whatever was frustrating her in Theo, was much more stronger in Ayame. Her brows furrowed as she frowned. Why. Why was it stronger in the Lady Kazekage than it was in Theo? A deep nagging feeling in the back of her head told her to go home and find answers when she was done here. She had more questions than answers. 'It's just another challenge,' Yoshi silently reminded herself, 'I'll find the answers and remove it from my mind.'

Hikaru followed behind Yoshi with Theodin taking the lead. Getting past the guards was easier than she had initially thought it would be, likely due to Theodin's status in the village. She half-expected some sort of ninja test right out of the gate before they'd be allowed to exit; those who failed being casted off into the desert, never to be seen again. Her imagination was quite active. Ah, ah, ah! Hikaru-chan, the people of Sunagkure are friendly and sane people - minus the manly monster. Think about the puppy! Hikaru smiled as she thought to herself, trying to calm her nerves about meeting the Kazekage. She was really looking forward to playing with the dog, however. She wondered about the kind of dog the Kazekage might own, and how friendly it would be when she knelt down to pet and play with it. After getting the Kazekage's permission of course.
"Aya!?" Except that 'dog' was not a dog. When the trio finally approached the Kazekage, she was met with the vision of a horse dressed in wolf's clothing, for a lack of better words. The scars on this... beast's face and its terrorizing visage overall caused the young (not really, anymore) Hakemoto to freeze in her tracks. "T-t-t-t... tha-tha... w-waah... dog... d-d-da-da-dog?" She stammered in a hushed tone, pointing at the massive beast playing with two smaller... felines, of sorts, that were only adding to the confusion factor Hikaru was experiencing.
At least this time she wasn't screaming or having a panic attack.
Ayame chuckled, They look so young, but their smell is old. Beautiful creatures. The news you brought was no fault of your own. James is gone. That letter was all I got for a goodbye. She said sitting with her predecessor and mentor. Lady Bast had always been someone Ayame had considered at least a friend, and someone she was happy to spend time with. She looked back at the three playing and smiled as Daichi started bucking like a horse, gently mind you, but bucking none the less. Sometimes the best things happene when we least expect it. They're amazing, as I'm sure the rest are. Ayame took a sip of her tea and sighed, before sniffing as she caught new scents on the wind. She turned and saw her son coming to her and two genin stopping a ways off from them. The white haired female was giving off a frustrated vibe and the other smelled of fear. She followed her eyes and saw they were on Daichi. The poor guy was always considered scary by those that didn't know him. Unfortunately it was because of his looks. She took a deep breath before Theodin got close to her. His voice carried worry and she gave a soft smile as she patted his cheek. I will talk about it later, privately...at home. She patted his cheek again making sure her eyes showed all the love she had for him. She then looked around him and motioned to the two genin. You may come closer girls. Daichi doesn't bite unless you're an enemy. He looks worse than his personality.

It had been a while since she'd enjoyed a cup of tea with someone else like this. Considering the circumstances, Bast was in no rush to do it again. She didn't have any more words of comfort for her successor, so when Theodin and two new people arrived on the scene, she dropped the subject.
Daichi's bucking knocked Bab and Rai loose, sending the former pinwheeling through the air and the latter scampering across the ground. Bab managed to grab onto the wolfdog's tail for a moment, only to get launched again.
"No fair!" one shouted.
"What a big old fart!" the other hollered.
"That's enough, you two," Bast chided them. She fished through her pockets to find a couple pieces of magnetite, which she flicked toward the electric cats. Bab and Rai both seemingly turned completely into lightning for the blink of an eye to catch the rocks, which they immediately began gnawing on. As they rolled around on the ground, she added: "Give Seda my regards."
With that, she dismissed the twin cats. They popped back in a moment later to scramble all over her in search of more rocks, then vanished again after she tossed them off.
"Dang kids, always looking for treats..." the woman grumbled. She finished her cup of tea, refilled it, then turned to face the new arrivals. Her movements were very precise, even with the sleeves of her robes billowing in the wind. She wore a neutral expression as she spoke: "Daichi's gentle enough to carry kittens in his mouth without hurting them, but he's got a pretty mean bite when he's mad. If Theodin gives you any trouble, just bribe the big fluffball to chase him around."
"Man and Spirit alike tell me I cannot withstand the storm…"
Theo would listen to his mom, nodding quietly before stepping back and aside for the girls to talk. He saw their reactions to Daichi and chuckled slightly as his mom told them he was mostly harmless, “Yea, Daichi is just a big goof ball so long as you aren’t an enemy.” He’d add to corroborate Ayame’s statement. When Bast added that they could get Daichi to chase Theo around if he gave them a hard time, Theo cringed slightly. “Really, Lady Bast? Getting the rookies to sick ol’ Daichi on me now...” Theo would smile slightly nervously, rubbing the back of his head with his right hand.
Theo would sigh slightly and fold his arms inside his sleeves again as he stood off to Ayame’s side, his usual habit to kind of fall in as an extra security detail whenever things were going on that were kind of official. Not that his mom or Bast really needed any kind of extra security. He just figured it’d be good to stick around until the girls got their headbands so he could escort them back within the gates since he had told the guards they were with him.

6’2”, 250lbs solid muscle,white hair to his mid back, held back by his Suna headband with heterochromic blue and green eyes. Wearing thermal insulated leather armor, dyed black, with patches of dull silver metal on the chest, upper back, and upper arms. A pair of steel arm guards and steel backed gloves,all painted black with a dark blue lining. Black boots, a pair of 30” broadswords hanging from his hips. The skin on the inside of his forearms, if visible, is covered in small seals. Over all his armor, generally hiding it,he wears a baggy sleeved black robe with dark blue trim and a black armored cowl hood.

The surprised stuttering of her friend didn't escape Yoshi as she looked up to whisper towards her, "A wolf. He's not going to hurt us. He's playing with cats. There's no raised fur, his ears aren't down." Yoshi explained, the knowledge of predators to keep her antlered friends safe on her farm was coming in handy, "Due to his massive size, your brain will constantly think it's in danger cause we easily prey. Remind it that it's safe and fine around him." Yoshi wasn't sure if this would help her friend. Considering that she apparently had a pair of lungs on her, as she found out earlier, Yoshi can't help but to be slightly concern for her friend's wellbeing. They were talking amongst themselves and when the attention was on them, they kept reassuring that the wolf which was named Daichi, was safe and harmless, as long as you aren't an enemy. With a nod, she glanced towards Hikaru, "See?" She said, wondering if the four of them had helped the girl's nerves any. Yoshi wasn't particularly interested in sending Daichi after Theodin if he gave them any trouble. He already did and Yoshi was the kind of lady to take care of her problems, not send someone else unless needed to.
Lady Kazekage gave them permission to come closer so she did. "I'm sorry to bother you, Lady Kazekage, your secretary at the office said you would be out here and that you can give us headbands. That is if you see us worthy." So many questions, so little time to what she was sensing. She can slightly sense it with Theo but more with Ayame. What does it mean? For the first time, when she gets home, she's also going to sense her parents. There was this nagging feeling at the back of her mind and she was hoping she was wrong. That it's just a flux in her brain system.

"AHAAH." An outburst of nervous laughter was the response upon being invited closer to the Kazekage's general area. Hikaru did not wish to be any closer than she was, her eyes still on the large wolf-beast-dog-horse. "I-I-I'm fine right here, thank you." She whimpered, quickly waving to the new faces that were the Kazekage and Bastet. Whether or not what the others had said about Daichi - the beast's name - had been registered, the young chef preferred to keep her distance. She didn't even think that animals could grow to such a size, let alone be domesticated enough to be companions with humans. She fell silent, letting Yoshi take the reigns, who inquired about receiving their headbands.
Ayame gave a soft smile to Bast, It's not your fault don't let it bother you. News always seem to best be shared with tea. Whether it's good or bad. Having tea with you Lady Bast is one of the best things that could have happened today, besides seeing these new faces in Suna. Ayame looked towards the girls again as she grabbed some headbands from her pocket, she walked toward the girls as Daichi whined realizing his new friends were gone. He huffed and grabbed the ball, before calmly making his way to his tamer. His tail wagged and he stopped a few feet away, dropped the ball and nosed it to Hikaru. He turned his body to his better side and entered into a play bow. Could you throw that for me, please? Ayame chuckled and headed the girls their headbands, Daichi likes to chase Theodin, especially if he's got just a bit of electricity running through his fur. He's rescued plenty of people, kittens included, and is much more than the scars you see. She looked back at her pet then to the girls, If you have need of anything just ask, and Hikaru..I promise you being a shinobi is much more than killing and harming someone. We protect what is ours, but we also need those that can, to make Suna home.

The Kazekage mentioning tea sent the aspiring master chef into a daydream of sorts, thinking about all the combinations she could make with different types of food and tea. Hikaru was a fan of sencha green tea herself, and enjoyed pairing it with Sashimi; a dish that she has taken a particular interest in since being taught how to cook by her father. Her imagination got the best of her, creating a scene where she was serving tea to the Kazekage and Bast while waiting for their orders. Upon returning their menus the Kazekage asked, "Could you throw that for me, please?", in a voice that startled Hikaru out of her daydream before she considered throwing the menu as the Kazekage had requested.
"Hm? O-oh, um... sure." Hikaru spoke, not even fully recovered from her daydream before coming back to reality. She saw the headbands in the Kazekage's hands, but was unsure of what else was said before she got to this point. Did I... still need to throw that menu? She was genuinely confused, that was until she spoke again, her voice entirely different than what she heard just moments ago.
Then it hit her.
Only a few feet away was that massive beast, tail rapidly wagging. "D-did you... just...?" Her face went pale, a horrified gaze locked onto the 'gentle giant' as the other referred to him. It was all background noise at this point, soft echoes that did nothing to calm the erratic thoughts that plagued her mind. This is a trap. This is a trap. The ball is a trap. A test. If I pick it up, my guard will be down and he'll eat me. Her eyes dropped to the ball for half a second before returning to Daichi. This is not a dog. This is not a pet. This is a monster. IT TALKED. IT TALKED TO ME. Talking animals weren't a common thing for Hikaru, and she was struggling to believe that there was anything remotely gentle about something this big and scary looking. The headband that was in her hand, remained there for only a moment before falling to the ground. However the hand that clutched it - attached to the horrified, pale face that belonged to Hikaru - had not moved a single muscle.
It was an afterimage. A trail of sand raising up suddenly behind it before it faded from existence, traveling in the opposite direction of the ball and Daichi. "AYAYAYAYAYAIIII!"
Ayame watched the interaction between Hikaru and Daichi raising and eyebrow and giving a giggle as the girl seemed to be in a daydream. Then Hikaru smelled of nothing but fear and ran off screaming. Ayame's chakra was a blue blanket around her body before she could even stop it. Her eyes started glowing, her claws and fangs elongated, and a soft growl came from her chest. She dissappeared from beside the others leaving a small breeze in her wake. Daichi barked and within a millisecond she was on Hikaru and had her lifted by the back of her clothing. She made sure not to choke the young girl, but she was pissed. Her chakra was a multitude of blues and white by this point. Her eyes glowed and her fangs were showing. Ayame had to control her anger to make sure her elongated claws weren't piercing the girl's skin, and her grip loosened just a bit. She looked at her, glowing greens and blues to the young girl's blue. The first lesson you will learn is never to disrespect that wolf. He is family and the reason he got those scars was protecting me when I was but a bullheaded frightened child, such as yourself. He is my partner, my friend, my family, and you will treat him with the same respect you show me. She gave Hikaru a small shake before dropping her to the ground, maybe a little too hard. She looked down at Hikaru, I want people like you in this village Hikaru, but you will need to grow some semblance of a spine if you never wish to see this side of me again. She looked at her partner and sighed then looked to Yoshi You and Hikaru will be trained under Theodin, maybe he will teach you some respect.

Theodin listened to Yoshiand his mom say their bits as Ayame went to hand out the hand bands. When he noticed Hikaru was off in some day dream, Theo would chuckle slightly to himself. But when she freaked out at Daichi just trying to get her to play, he mentally facepalmed ‘oh... oh ********... this isn’t gonna be good.’ He would think to himself as he felt the anger radiate off his mom. When she bolted after Hikaru amd had her by the throat, Theo’s hands would twitch through a handsign before he would disappear in a bolt of lightning.
Appearing next to Ayame, Theo would put a hand on her shoulder, “Mom.. she’s seriously the most skittish rookie I’ve seen.... please don’t kill the genin... not only does it not look good, but think of the damned paperwork it would create!” When She said that the pair of genin would be trained by him, Theo nodded sternly before looking towards Hikaru, “you’re going to need to get used to seeing shinobi tamer animals... they’re a lot different from what you see anywhere outside a village.. Now get up , pull yourself the ******** together, and act like the ninja you’re supposed to be.” Theo wasn’t nearly as angry as Ayame, but he was annoyed that the cowardly girl couldn’t even tell that Daichi was in about the least threatening posture possible and posed zero threat to her at the time.

Yoshi rolled her eyes softly as she sighed at Hikaru's comment. Fine. Maybe it was best to stay there. With a half bow, she took the headband, "Thank you, Lady Kazekage. I'm Yoshi Noroi and that's Hikaru Hakemoto." Her eyebrow rose in curiosity when Ayame had mentioned that there was more than just killing and harming someone. That they protect theirs. How did she know what they were talking about back in the office? And Yoshi was pretty sure she mentioned the protection of Sunagakure. Oh no. Did she leave that out? Mentally, the snow-haired girl started to beat herself up for forgetting that part. No matter. She was here to learn and learn was what she was going to do. Daichi asked Hikaru to throw a ball towards her and a warm smile appeared on her face. Maybe. Just maybe, this would help Hikaru see that he wasn't bad. I mean he even said please. Who said please anymore? Yoshi, while already pale, became porcelain faced when she realized that Hikaru was off in some faraway land and not in reality and she was starting to snap back into reality. 'Please don't scream, please don't scream' The young genin thought to herself but Hikaru didn't scream. No. She did something much worse.
She ran and scream. Everything happened so fast. Ayame was gone. Theo felt heavy and looked serious and quickly, Yoshi reacted by jumping onto him. He was fast. So fast that during that burst, she could've sworn that her body was used as a cape for Theo. Flailing and flapping in the wind like a torn ratted rag on a pole during a category five hurricane. Her hand that was holding her wrist around his neck was so tight that it was affecting her wrist. When he appeared by Ayame, Yoshi landed with a silent thump behind him, sand flying everywhere as she groaned softly. Her hair was an electric afro, sprayed at the ends and puffing up. She could feel all the hair at the back of her neck and arms standing up. She was a ration user herself but damn. She needed a moment after piggybacking Theo at such a speed. It wasn't her head that was hurting, but her wrist. Glanced down, she saw the purple bruising around her wrist. Was she... really holding on that tight? She tried to move it and grimaced. It felt swollen and painful. Maybe even out of place. She wouldn't know. She's not a medic. Yoshi was trying to come back to reality while her head was spinning and in the aftermath of being Theo's cape, she heard them. She wanted to say something to them, to inform them that Hikaru moved here and wasn't used to this world but nothing came out. Yoshi breathed a sigh of relief as Ayame didn't kill Hikaru and placed them to be trained under Theodin. With a groan, she rolled over to her back and glared up at the blue skies above, the sand was helping take away the electricity as her hair was getting back to normal. This was not how she wanted the first meeting to go.

Gotta run, gotta run, gotta ru- Hikaru was gone. She didn't know where she was running to, but she wanted far away from all of this. The mean manly monster, the giant beast; all of it. She felt like she was going insane, none of this made any sense to her. "Ack!" Something caught onto the back of her clothing, yanking her out of her forward momentum and had her suspended above the ground. Her feet were still moving as if she was running for a brief second, until she turned to face the awfully powerful presence she could feel behind her suddenly. "AYAYA- ..." Hikaru wanted to scream, but pure dread left it caught in her throat, witnessing the terrifying visage of the Kazekage. Trembling took over her small body, tears welling in her eyes; her body unmoving otherwise while she was scolded for disrespecting Daichi, her tamer pet. She wanted to apologize, she really did, but she found herself unable to speak as tears silently fell from her face. Fear, shame, and helplessness were mixed into a boiling pot of a failure, known as the 'next generation of Hakemoto'.
Theodin, the mean manly monster, appeared just as quickly to try and soothe his mother, begging her not to kill Hikaru. Only a weak squeak could be heard from the girl held in Ayame's hands, tears streaming from her eyes now. Yes, she was skittish. She was also anxious, clumsy, and weak. These were not shinobi qualities, and Hikaru knew all along that she did not belong. She was better off dying, if that was Ayame's intention. Hikaru did not catch herself when she was released from the Kazekage's mighty grip, falling face first into the sand beneath her pitifully, attempting to get on her hands the first time only to fail, falling back into the sand. Through the particles of sand that clumped within her face and hair, sticking to the streams of tears falling down her face, she saw her friend Yoshi lying on the ground. Even with two of who could quite possibly be the two strongest ninja in the village standing between them, Yoshi still found a way to be by Hikaru's side.
"I-I'm not..." She replied weakly to Theodin, coughing up sand before she could finish, finally bringing herself up to rest on her knees. Her hair was all over the place, and sand caked most of her face as she appeared to be looking at both Theodin and Ayame, but she was actually looking beyond them. Towards Yoshi. "I'm... sorry." Her words came out shaky, choking on immense weight of shame and sadness that accompanied these words. "I'm sorry!" The weight broke her, her head lowering to face the sands once more, sobbing uncontrollably. She didn't belong here. All she was doing was making Yoshi's life miserable, someone who had to literally carry Hikaru through the academy only for her to barely graduate.
Obstacles are like wild animals. They are cowards but they will bluff you if they can. If they see you are afraid of them... They are liable to spring upon you; but if you look them squarely in the eye, they will slink out of sight.
Nova strode into the Crevice, the entrance to the great Sunagakure, her partner Kaori on her back. They were carrying the spoils of their lengthy hunt. They had been away for over a year, sent on a hunting mission by their Kazekage. Their appearances had changed some, Kaori's hair was no longer in a series of ponytails and braids, instead only two braids were framing her face, the tips of her hair had darkened, turning the pure white hair black at the ends, her eyes were hazy, giving her an odd looking gaze, while the color had changed from it's former near amethyst to a pale lavender that was flecked with silver. Her beloved Akuma Flowers were still tied up in her hair, giving her an almost crown of blossoms, even as more cascaded down the impressive waterfall of hair that reached her ankles, making her seem almost like some kind of child of the forest. Her clothes had changed some as well, a dress of tanned leather, with three belts keeping it close to her body, though her shinobi gear had not changed locations with her new clothing. With her change in attire came a complete abandonment of shoes of any kind, instead she was barefoot, with her toenails actually being sharp cat-like retractable claws, just as her fingernails were. Nova was fluffier than ever, clearly having spent some time in colder climates for an extended period of time. They both looked wilder, as if they had gotten closer to their more animalistic natures. Behind Kaori on Nova's back was a couple of bags that clearly held the spoils of her labors. And anyone who Nova from before their departure would recognize that she had a entire hand's worth of new fingerbones on her necklace, around her own headband.
Kaori lightly tugged at Nova's fur to get her to stop, her pale lavender eyes took in the scene before them with surprise. There were two girls, probably Genin considering there were a couple headbands that looked new and unblemished, Theodin and the Kazekage. Ayame was standing above one of the genin, who was crying and saying sorry repeatedly. Frankly, to Kaori, the girl; clearly no older than sixteen, looked broken. Then there was the second Genin, behind Theo and Ayame, laying on her back, it looked like she had been electrocuted, but the sand was grounding her and taking the worst of the effects away. She had only barely caught what Theodin had said, and frankly she was just confused. What had been going on while she was away hunting? It looked almost as if the Genin had done something to anger Ayame, but the only thing that would do that would be insulting Daichi in some way. And who would want to insult the lovable fluffball? Kaori drummed her claws against her own arm as she tried to make sense of what she was seeing.
Nova was pouting, a nine-foot tall snow leopard, pouting like a child. And Kaori could just tell why,"Oh, the Kazekage can eat someone, and no one bats an eye. But I ask to eat people and I'm yelled at! It's not fair! It's because I'm not the Kazekage, isn't it?!" Kaori groaned and lightly smacked Nova between her ears, "Lady Ayame is not eating the Genin, you're not allowed to eat people unless they attack Sunagakure. We've had this conversation." It was clear from her tone that this was a conversation that had happened more times than she liked to remember. Nova pouted more, her long fluffy tail swishing behind her with her mood. Kaori's own tail twitched, as did her ears, when she heard more tears continue to leave the crying girl. It tugged at her heartstrings, but she would not interfere, since she did not know the situation. Nova stalked closer, sniffing the air as her ice-blue eyes took everything in, scanning the Genin as well as Daichi, Theodin and Ayame. From her back, Kaori sat above the rest of the group, giving her a rare view from higher ground. She wanted to report, but didn't want to interrupt something, so for the moment she would remain silent, waiting to be addressed.

Ayame's anger died quickly and she kneeled down in front of the young girl with a sigh. She picked her up and dusted off her face, brushing the tears and sand from her face. Hikaru, do not apologize for being you.Ayame wiped more sand from Hikaru and tried to dry more of her tears, You are a Suna shinobi little one, be proud of that. Ayame stood and ruffled the girls hair, Stop crying, I would never "eat" a genin she glared at her son then looked back at Hikaru, Y'all are too chewy anyway. She raised an eyebrow at Kaori and Nova then gave a small, sad smile, as Daichi bolted off towards Nova.
