___ ___{Wiki Description} → Genjutsu is one of the main jutsu categories. Like ninjutsu, genjutsu requires chakra and hand seals to be performed. Unlike ninjutsu, the effects of genjutsu are not real, being only illusions experienced by those who fall victim to it. According to the Second Mizukage, genjutsu falls under the broad category of Yin Release.
A genjutsu is created when a ninja controls the chakra flow of a target's cerebral nervous system, thereby affecting their five senses. This is frequently used to create false images and/or trick the body into believing its has experienced physical pain. Genjutsu can also be used to manipulate others - similar to brainwashing - by feeding the victim illusive suggestions. Most genjutsu is performed visually, requiring the target make eye contact with the caster. Other methods include integration with nature transformation, and, in the anime, ingesting special pills that activate when the target sleeps. Audible genjutsu is deemed the most dangerous because the user can trap victims from long distances.
Despite its usefulness, genjutsu is rarely employed, most shinobi preferring the real, tangible effects of ninjutsu and taijutsu over the imagined effects of genjutsu. The difficulty of performing genjutsu in the first place presents an additional barrier to its use: genjutsu require precise chakra control in order to manipulate the target's senses and advanced intelligence to make the illusion convincing, prerequisites that even someone as skilled as Jiraiya lacks. Some, however, are able to specialise in genjutsu, with Kurenai Yūhi being regarded as one of Konoha's experts in the field and members of the Uchiha clan being particularly feared because of their Sharingan's generic genjutsu.
Those under the influence of genjutsu will either appear to be unconscious or continue to move around under the pretence of the genjutsu. The latter is very effective in battle as a genjutsu user can make themselves appear to be somewhere else and attack the victim from behind or change the environment to make the victim see a flat plain where there is a steep cliff.
There are three options to combat the effects of Genjutsu. The first option is for the ninja to stop the flow of chakra in their body, and then apply an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the casters chakra. This technique is called a Kai Release. The second option is to have a ninja unaffected by the Genjutsu make body contact and use their chakra to disrupt the casters flow. The third, and normally final option, is for the nin caught in the Genjutsu to inflict some sort of real life bodily harm to themselves, such as stabbing their leg with a kunai. Jinchūriki (fully mastered), Uchiha, & Aburame have an easier time dealing with Genjutsus, due to their unique circumstances. Chilli Pepper Bombs, though expensive, are unique in that they are the only item in which inhalation can immediately cease an active Genjutsu.
___ ___Guild Description} → As the Wiki description, though there is simply not enough room to post it all. Unlike the Genjutsu of the source material, Genjutsu by this description relies on six senses (minimum) instead of the normal five. These basic senses are: Sight, Sound, Scent, Taste, Touch, and Chakra, but can take into account many more. (Senses) The rules regarding how Genjutsu work are likewise different. The first point to know is that Genjutsu can, and will, affect someone physically given very specific circumstances. These are listed into the Genjutsu techniques themselves. The second is that Genjutsu is not always tied to a specific person's brain, but instead draws on the forces of one's own chakra as a trigger to continually maintain an illusion, similar in fact to Holograms or 'Hard Light'. These are described below.

___ ___Guild Description} Triggers are described as the senses, or actions, required for a Genjutsu to be initialized or function. An example is that a Genjutsu creates a mist, and the effect of the Genjutsu only takes place when someone inhales that mist. Another example is if a Genjutsu requires the trigger of someone raising their right hand and pointing their middle finger at the sky, "giving the bird", and someone has to physically see it.

___ ___Guild Description} The Senses, often utilized with a capital, refer to the basic six senses all living creatures have access to, and the myriad of other species-specific senses. The most basic six are Sight, Sound, Scent, Taste, Touch, and Chakra, while the extended list may include such senses as equilibrioception, thermoception, hunger, nociception, and so on. As these are the foundations with which all living creatures experience the world, it is these that Genjutsu interact with to alter the perceptions, and beliefs, of the individual. What each Sense is, and how they are affected, are written in their own entries below. As universal senses, the basic six are considered to be the easiest to produce techniques for, and thus also the easiest with which to fool the opponent.

___ ___Guild Description} The Universal Sense of Sight is, for Genjutsu, one of the most utilized of Senses. In short, this Sense encompasses what your eyes alone perceive. For someone who is Blind the eyes still count as a source of attack, as one's Chakra can be forced into allowing visual illusions, such as "seeing" the world. Given that such things might never have been seen before it can be distracting. This sense, in simply terms, represents what one sees.

___ ___Guild Description} Audio is one of the largest used senses of the Shinobi world as a trigger, often at subvocal levels so as to illicit a response from the subconscious, or id (instinct). As such, the Sense of Sound is utilized often between these two forms: Audible, and Subaudible. With the former, the Genjutsu creates sounds and sound effects to disorient or convince the listener of a particular event. With Subaudible, the target is not truly the victim's ears, but their brain. In these cases the user is often not aware of the change, and as such these techniques tend to be used for Enchantment type Genjutsu almost exclusively.

___ ___Guild Description} The Sense of Scent is regarded as one of the most useful against those with animal senses or animals themselves. The Sense of Scent is quite literally just as it sounds: what the victim smells. Genjutsu can utilize this scent to illicit physical responses of disgust or desire, and can even be utilized to effect behavior through use similar to the manner of pheromones. As such, it is one of the more versatile Senses, with those of enhanced senses being particularly weak against it.

___ ___Guild Description} The Sense of Taste is not often utilized, at least by itself. This Sense is often tied into the Sense of Scent, as the two coincide quite naturally. Often the Sense of Taste is utilized to accentuate a Scent, often replacing it, yet it, too, can be used as a method of overruling another taste one might have. An example would be to make a sword taste like cake. Making the cake, in fact, a lie.

___ ___Guild Description} The key component to Fixed typed Genjutsu, the Sense of Touch is the feeling a target receives when physically coming in contact with a Genjutsu. This can range in strength from being able to stand upon the genjutsu in midair, to obtaining physical damage from the Genjutsu itself. Whilst how temporary or permanent these injuries or effects are depends entirely on the Type of the Genjutsu, the short of this description is that this Sense deals exclusively with what the body physically experiences upon contact with the Genjutsu.

___ ___Guild Description} A relatively unknown, or rather, unnamed Sense that many have written off as a mythical "Sixth Sense", the Sense of Chakra is the detection of another living entity through abstract experience. Feeling eyes on the back of one's head, feeling that one is being watched, are just two among many descriptions for the Sense of Chakra. Any genjutsu that directly afflicts specific emotional states of mind is considered attacking the Chakra Sense of another. This Sense is what Sensor type shinobi, and Sennin, utilize when reaching outwards to detect, or Sense, Chakra. While the control, or manipulation, of this Sense is often the purpose of Genjutsu targeting it, it should be noted that not utilizing it can be just as effective if done properly.

___ ___Guild Description} The Source of a technique details, specifically, what requirements must be met for the technique to work, how the technique effects the individual, and so on. An example would be Phantasm, which means it is an fake sense being generated. Audio Phantasm is generating a fake sound with Genjutsu. "Original" Source means the technique's use is the same as Canon, requiring the user to invade the target with their chakra and altering the flow of chakra to their brain to cause the Genjutsu to occur. If ever in doubt, please contact the Approval or Battle Moderation Committees.



___R u l e s // R e g u l a t i o n s ___

___♠ Foundation of Senses
______→ This is a foundation guide for senses. At no time may more than six [6] senses be under the effect of a Genjutsu. The foundation allows up to three [3] senses to be targeted at any one time, with Discipline and/or Personal Attribute choices allowing up to the maximum of five [5] senses. A good way of looking at it would be to say that the average Ninjutsu user who has not invested time, or selections, into increasing their Genjutsu would be allowed to affect three [3] senses at max. Whereas if someone has specialized in Genjutsu, the max they could affect would be five [5] senses. At any time that two techniques are utilized upon an opponent that affect the same sense, that sense will be affected by the higher ranked technique's rank. i.e. if utilizing an A-ranked technique that affects sight and sound, and a C-ranked Genjutsu that affects scent and sound, the sense of sound would be affected with an A-ranked amount of strength. As such, both techniques would work, but one would need to pay the A-ranked cost to break through both technique at once, as the chakra, again, does not stack.

___♠ Sensory Primaries and Secondaries
______→ Every Genjutsu has a Primary and Secondary set of Senses it affects. A Primary Sense for a technique is the Sense the technique most focuses on effecting. This Primary sense sets the Strength and Kai requirement, while the Secondaries refer to which other Senses the jutsu targets. If a Shinobi has an increase to a Secondary Sense, it does not effect the overall Kai rank, only that particular Sense's "realness".

___♠ Source
______→ Genjutsu, once upon a time, was about injecting chakra into your opponent and manipulating their chakra to create this illusion within their mind. This is no longer the case (for the most part). Each Type of Genjutsu utilizes a different "Source" for their effects, whether it is collective belief, a targeted siphon, or the aforementioned method of entry. See "Source" listed under each jutsu, and in the absence of such a listing assume the original method of Source. See, too, the definitions above for more explanation.

___♠ Base Duration // Upkeep
______→ Every technique has a base duration and upkeep listed, whether or not the answer would be zero [0] or a written answer. Every technique lasts at least one post, with the Base being how long the effect lasts until its effect fades. However, if an Upkeep cost is listed, the technique can be extended past its original Base by paying the cost per post of continued usage. This Upkeep can be utilized before the Base, meaning the technique will last it's Base duration after the shinobi has ceased paying the upkeep cost, or after, in which case the effect ends as soon as the upkeep cost is paid, but granting no upkeep during the beginning of its useage. It should be noted that an Upkeep takes up a Defensive Activation every post it is maintained, allowing at most, without any outside factors being considered, three [3] techniques at any one time.

___♠ Reality
______→ Genjutsu is the art of bending the senses to believe a fiction is real. Due to this, a technique is considered 'real' until one Kai's out of it, or somehow frees themselves from the influence of the technique. Besides Kai, other methods of breaking exist, and will frequently be referenced within the description of the technique itself. Depending on the Type of Genjutsu, the injury may, or may not, leave physical effects upon the ending of the technique.

___♠ Auto-knowing
______→ This rule recognizes the relative flaw in all things Role Play where stats, and dice rolls, are not utilized as a savings throw method. The use of Genjutsu in combat or in the roleplay in general comes with an unspoken contract to not auto-know that one is being effected by one, as to do so would be an impossibility without specific rules being utilized from in character additions, such as technique, Personal Attributes, or disciplines. Even previous knowledge, or personal knowledge of the technique being utilized does not guarantee an automatic knowledge of one's condition. To help stop this rule from being abused on both sides of the fence, the ability of a Genjutsu to be detected can be inferred from the description written by the Genjutsu user, meaning the more description and realness created with one's words during use the more difficult a victim may find it to recognize their situation, while the inverse also remains true.

___♠ Increasing of Strength
______→ Senses are, in a way, the Genjutsu parallel to Physical Stats within the Bukijutsu and Taijutsu method of combat. Instead of Strength, Speed, Reactions and Endurance, etc, Genjutsu utilize their six Senses. Meaning, buffs to those Senses would mean that a shinobi's strength lie within those Senses. One Shinobi might invest themselves into making their Sight based Genjutsu ungodly difficult to recognize as fake, while another might invest time and energy into making the Scent and Taste based Genjutsu that much harder to learn than others. This is an important distinction for Passive and Discipline benefits. This does not mean that a Genjutsu user may not draw benefit from physical increases, merely that their Genjutsu Senses may be likewise increased.

___♠ When in Doubt
______→ If ever in doubt of how a Genjutsu works, or what its description means, do not hesitate to contact a Moderator. We exist to ensure that the guild maintains a fun and welcoming atmosphere, and this cannot be done if one remains silent. Do not hesitate to use this resource.

___♠ Trust Clause
______→ The limitations of Genjutsu are difficult to completely define without the use of dice and other chance systems. As such, there is a level of trust to be given with these techniques and system, and the primary concern of any user of Genjutsu is to the fun, and balanced play of this guild. As such, if a shinobi's opponent, or themselves, believe foul play is underfoot or an abuse of the systems true lack of definition for personal gain or the intent to 'prove a point', the infraction will be brought before a collective council of Moderators to decide a proper punishment, with the infraction falling under "God-moding" as far as punishments and severity go. If the situation is, in fact, not-intentional, the severity of the infraction will be lowered to an appropriate level, and the moderators will be required to work with both sides to ensure fair and balanced play. To clarify, just because one can abuse a system does not mean one should.
___♠ Fictitious Summoning
______→ A very common and well known tactic for Illusionists no matter the source material, summoning an enormous monster, or millions of forces, is an effective, but powerful, tool to any user. However, in the interest of role play fairness a limit has been created for this very purpose. No matter the size of the creation, or the number within that one illusion, the technique can only ever deal out damage and strength on par with that of technique's rank. i.e. if a Genjutsu user were to create ten thousand samurai with a technique, the strength of the technique [We'll say A - ranked for sake of argument], the ten thousand samurai can only deal, collectively, A - rank in damage. This means that individually, the illusions do little, if any, damage at all.
___♠ Fictitious Summoning
______→ To further assuage the fear of possible abuse, it will be noted that permanent, physical harm cannot come from Genjutsu of the Chained, Instance, Illusory, or Enchantment techniques. In the case of the current listing, only one such technique has this ability to leave any lasting harm, that of E - rank, and this will be the only exception among these four types. This technique cannot have its lasting damage rank increased by any means. All other effects will end either at the time of the techniques ending, or at most a few posts after its end. See technique descriptions for details.


___C a t e g o r i e s // T y p e s O f G e n j u t s u___

___Enchantment
___ ___{Guild Description} → The genjutsu are ones used to alter the consciousness or emotions of another. While the more common uses are the Voice techniques, more complicated techniques trick the mind into allowing the body to feel differently, this way surpassing normal, natural, and safe limiters. In a sense, these techniques could be seen as manipulative, or "buffing" and "debuffing", forcing the mind and body to react in specific ways. An example of such is a genjutsu that turns the target into a berserker, someone that ignores all pain and damage and keeps coming past the point where most would die, let alone give up.

___Illusory
___ ___{Guild Description} → These genjutsu are the type more often employed by street performers or grand illusionists, creating imagery that is separate from the mind of an individual and are similar in many ways to holograms. Unlike Fixed Genjutsu, these illusions are not real, meaning that any harm obtained in the duration of the technique would fade once the illusion itself is Kai'd. What many would consider "standard" genjutsu would fall into this category.

___Instance
___ ___{Guild Description} → Basically cantrips, they last one post for low cost. These cantrips are more often employed to lead up to bigger illusions, helping them seem more real, thus making it more difficult for people to have a reason to view them as false. An example of this is having the scent of rotten flesh. Low cast, you can cast two per one activation, and they last scant seconds. You catch a whiff, it vanished. A few minutes later another whiff, different direction. It slowly builds up, until suddenly the mist parts and undead are coming for you. Because you smelled all of that over time, you're more inclined to believe the illusion is real.

___Chain
___ ___{Guild Description} → Chain type Genjutsu are, oddly, not the type a shinobi uses to target and ally, or an enemy, by themselves but rather combine with Genjutsu for various effects. Chain techniques are Genjutsu that augment, in some way, techniques that are being utilized by a shinobi, such as the Double Layering technique that allows two Genjutsu to be stacked on top of one another. These techniques can add strengthening or weakening effects to Genjutsu that may either act outside of the original purpose of the technique, such as an Enchantment technique causing the enchanted to leak Chakra at an increased rate, or come in line with it, such as causing a visual eruption of light to suddenly cause a form of ringing within the ears. These can serve as supplementary effects to increase or decrease durations or strengths of particular Senses being assaulted.


___B a s e D u r a t i o n
  • The normal length, in posts, of a Genjutsu, applicable usually to only high ranking jutsus.
  • This number dictates how long a Genjutsu is active unless it is released prior to the end length, or broken in some manner.
  • Those without an explicit duration are able to be maintained unless it is released or broken in some manner.
  • For convenience, durations of 1 post or less are considered as 'instance' jutsus & do not need to have handsigns maintained after the initial casting.

___H e l p f u l H i n t s
  • Sensory techniques don't always have to look around you to see what chakra is doing.
  • What limb can be easily overcome if used to escape?
  • Can you deal with having an annoying Genjutsu active, to save yourself the chakra cost, pain, or having another take its place?
  • Pay attention to the descriptions of the illusions. See if there is a glaringly obvious mistake, something missing or misused that might give a hint that not all is right.

→→Description: A target's visual acuity is enhanced in the area of their direct focus, allowing for an increase of 1 DR in Reflex. Any change of focus, or anything out of focus, deducts 1 DR in Reflex from the target.

Gensou no Bakuto [ Illusion's Gambler ]

→→Description: A simple suggestion is made, which can be anything from a question to a billboard price, which lures in the target by using their expectation of easy profit. In this way, it is only just a simple lure to bring someone to somewhere, but effective.

Kumo Monokage no Jutsu [ Cloud Cover Technique ]

→→Description: This Jutsu involves the simple creation of a small illusionary cloud, about 1 post-foot in diameter, that has to stay on the ground. Its true purpose is to conceal something that might be hidden in a particular spot, such as a sharp rock, or a small hole.

Etainoshirenai no Fugou [ Mark of the Unfamiliar ]

→→Description: Another fundamental Jutsu, this one changes a person’s writing, mark, or even an inscription to that of another. By doing this, simple directions can be misread or pathways can be changed. It is all up to the discretion of the person reading the sign, though, since merely touching the word or mark in question can easily break the spell.

Dokuji no Kaori [ Scent of Peculiar ]

→→Description: This Jutsu makes use of the sense of smell. It has been known for ages past that there are certain scents that excite different emotions. Scents in the area can make something as simple as dust smell endearing, or make crushed leaves give off a toxic aroma. By this, both traps and warnings can be made of simple objects, not to mention the handy note of covering up one's tracks.

Nirami no Kage [ Shadow Glare ]

→→Description: Manipulating what a shadow looks like is no large feat for the Shinobi of the Leaf. But at this most basic level, they are only able to increase the depth by which a person might perceive a shadow. For example, a shadow can either be lengthened or shortened, giving off the impression that a person is closer or father. When used in large expanses with abundant shade, this Jutsu can prove quite worrisome.

Hada no Kamereon [ Chameleon Skin ]

→→Description: Forming Chakra in the area around them, the user creates a basic Genjutsu whose purpose is to help blend their body in with whatever surroundings are available. The illusion is not perfect however and higher ranked Shinobi are far more adept in seeing through the Genjutsu.

Kumo Bunshin no Jutsu [ Cloud Clone Technique ]

→→Description: The user creates a Genjutsu-based replication of himself, although assuming the speed of a user (if not faster sometimes) this clone is unable to attack an opponent as it is not a physical replication. In return however, instead of the Bunshin dissipating when hit like a standard Bunshin, the attack goes through the clone, at the most causing it to separate and then recombine. Can eventually cause overexertion of the target. E-rank chakra required for each recombination. Does not require handsigns but costs a D-rank chakra to use without seals and a D-rank for each recombination if used this way.

Tendou no Ashi no Jutsu [ Cherub's Foot Technique ]

→→Description: Considered one of the more auspicious moves in the repertoire of a Cloud Genjutsu specialist. After performing a couple of seals while maintaining eye contact with the target, the target will see a giant foot of cloud descending from the skies to step on him. Generally the entire concept of a foot about to descend on the Shinobi is enough to make him disturb any particular action he had planned and instead he braces himself for the giant foot to crush him. However the moment the foot is about to touch the target it immediately dissipates into nothingness, leaving the target confused and open to attack.

A wall appears, the dimensions, materials, and appearance of which is determined by the caster. The wall itself has substance to those who witness it, though a Kai will allow the technique to become translucent to the eyes of the victim alone, allowing safe passage through. Objects or techniques striking it will seem to be absorbed or resisted by the wall, though in reality they continue through it unabated.

The maximum, S+ - ranked, is 5 re-trainings, to which this jutsu will take an additional 5 genjutsu slots. Increase of technique rank raises the area of effect [100 Yards at D - rank, gaining 200 Yards per rank after], as well as the realism of the technique itself. The base duration of the technique is decreased by one [1] per rank of the slot utilized, reflecting the increase in power.

However, when a Clone is hit instead of going through the clone, like it normally does in the technique, the clone instead explodes into a spread of smoke-like fog that becomes denser, stronger, and harder to dispel with every clone that is hit.

While only one bunshin may exist of this type at a time, the fact that each opponent sees it as their own loved one makes up for needing multiple.

The opponent can see only this, and hear, smell, and feel nothing else but the "plains". Easier to use in non-lush surroundings that already sort of look like it. Walking around for a long while will force the Genjutsu into a repetition. When cast, everyone within fifty yards of the point of origin will be affected. Movement is permitted, and when the body of the victim comes in contact with large obstacles their minds will cause them to maneuver around the obstacle, if it is simple such as stepping around over over large object.

This technique appears twice in the Genjutsu Listings, given its dual nature as both an Illusory and Enchantment technique. If utilizing it for the Illusory side the technique is a simple illusion anyone looking that direction can see.

By making eye contact with the opponent, they are able to rearrange the scenery around them to their needs. They cannot create an entirely new environment, but merely shape the existing one in any way they see fit. This allows for a multitude of options in tactics and serves to easily confuse even the most perceptive of opponents. The wind aspect here is a secondary option for most users, since they can simulate the sensation of wind in an opponent’s mind as well. The use of this ability can be very misleading.

However, this Genjutsu acts in a very different way than ‘natural’ wind would. Here, the Jutsu makes an opponent or group both feel and hear the wind coming from every direction, as if a typhoon is quickly approaching. It causes a very definite effect and tends to put people on alert. The sound can be loud, and the visual comes from the darkening of the clouds.

When they are 'destroyed', they pop into existence once more and expose a flurry of leaves. This technique can be compared to Oboro Bunshin no Jutsu, except that its effect is dependent upon plants.

→→Description: This Jutsu, clearly, requires the presence of trees to work. Its effect is simple enough but valuable when trying to escape an opponent. By altering the surrounding trees in an area, the user is able to create a path by which an opponent is ‘forced’ to take. So, rather than being followed into one area, the user can force their opponent to follow another, possibly into a trap. This Jutsu is hard to detect because there is very little difference between these imaginary trees and the real thing. Except of course, if the pursuer is clumsy enough to run or leap into the illusion. That, or of course, they are following the user by any other means besides sight.

This technique is highly effective as it seems to produce all the smells, sounds, and effect of actual lightning. Its most dangerous aspect comes into play if and when the target makes a lot of movements (more than jogging). The lightning will ‘strike’ the target causing pain and even seeming to cause burns.

Anoyo Kiretsu no Jutsu [ World of the Dead Fissure Technique ]

If an Enchantment, the technique activates on those designated by indicating in some visible way those to be affected, who can be no more than twenty [20] yards apart, who will be the only ones to see it. As an Illusory, the technique simply manifests as a phantasm, making it visible to anyone who looks at it.

Konrinzai no Jutsu [ Deepest Part of the Earth Technique ]

While normally just a figment and no more, this particular jutsu unleashes a sort of emotional cloud of fear, inducing a light touch of claustrophobia to those caught within its illusion. This builds slowly, so as to give the impression of being a natural emotion for the victim. Kyouboku Toukai no Jutsu [ Forest Destruction Technique ]

They shape and form various objects of likewise varying proportions. What is actually happening here is that the user is recreating scenes or things from their past which have caused them harm to some extent. It can range as being as complex and morbid was witnessing the birth and slaughter of a newborn, or even to something as trivial as clown-shaped figures surrounding the opponent from all sides. The shadows, of course, have no face or actual presence: They are merely shapes which hint at the aforementioned events. If the user is seen to form handseals the belief of this technique becomes moderately weakened, causing the Primary Sense to be reduced in strength by one half rank [½]

Hana Ninpō: Kyōka Sai [ Flower Ninja Art: Maximum Cutting ]

Scent is likewise blocked, as the scent of flowers overwhelms the effect. Touching the flowers causes abrasions that, if interacted for longer than a few moments, become lacerations.

→→Description: A genjutsu of a more powerful, physical nature, it requires the playing of an instrument for its fullest effect. Attempting to use this technique without its instrumental catalyst reduces the Primary Sense of this technique by one rank [1]. When the target either hears the technique or comes under its area of effect, bindings of any persuasion the user desires erupt from the ground and snatch at the wrists, waist, chest, and throat of the individual before two more ensnare the ankles and drag them down. These bindings feel immensely real, and have the effect of increasing any and all sensation from the sense of Touch to be doubled in intensity. These bindings may inflict pain through tightness of their nature, depending on the user’s choice. Afflicted can hear allies, but the words spoken are twisted to incite rage and hostility, often including themes of betrayal, hatred, and disgust.

Shi kara no Sasayaki [ Whispers from the Dead ]

These voices come from the shadows, and looking close enough, one might well see the twisted, dark silhouettes of figures speaking them. While in effect, the darkness becomes thicker, darker, to the point that even night-vision goggles and techniques will be hampered.

The user could create what appears to be a sudden driving blizzard that rapidly coats the area in snow and blasts the target with freezing winds, or they could create a torrential downpour that seems to saturate the ground to the point that it becomes a thick mud river, causing trees and other objects to fall over. The user could initiate a firestorm, or call up a hurricane. Really, the user can create any form of extreme weather that can be imagined, and the target(s) will be completely immersed in it, including the user. Changing the weather after the initial costs a C-rank amount of chakra, and is not a part of the upkeep.

Chiridaruma Kuuchuu [ Dust Covered Sky ]

This Genjutsu comes with 2 additionals that are pre-built into it to create one horrifying jutsu, Okkuu Chiri no Jutsu [ Annoying Dust Technique ] and Fuketsu Koromo no Jutsu [ Dirty Clothes Technique ]. The Senses of the these two techniques are overridden by the Senses listed for this technique.

Kiretsu no Jutsu [ Fissure Technique ]

→→Description: Drawing upon the somewhat slender mysticism that surrounds the firefly, this technique pushes for emotional reactions to the extent in which almost any victim can be affected. Holding a seal in place and hopefully within sight of the opponent (note that this isn’t eye contact), the opponent immediately begins to see one or two fireflies enter the field as the environment begins to suddenly darken. Next, the technique subtly reaches its crux by the addition of more fireflies entering the dimmed field. They begin to surround both user and the victim and provide nothing more than a lightshow at this stage. The last act of the technique forces the opponent to realize hidden fears when the fireflies suddenly converge upon the user and takes the shape of whichever person or thing the opponent fears most. Swiftly, the scene around them becomes blurred as hundreds more fireflies spin around the two and seemingly lock them within a chamber of light, the target's fears immeasurably brought to life. At this point the user can ‘travel’ between all the light around them and speaks instances which would provoke the user’s mental stability. These illusions are most obviously self-induced, but the user simply manifests them through this technique. This technique affects all of those within the area, as it is a large scale phantasmal effect.

→→Description: A visual effect which only serves to hide them, the bulk of the Genjutsu begins with the ground underneath the opponent collapsing and acting like quicksand. But much unlike quicksand, it is not the ground itself that is dragging the opponent down, but half-skeleton replicas of ghosts or victims from the opponent's past. Mothers, fathers, siblings, and rivals; anyone of significance in the opponent’s life hopes to drown them in the now stagnant-looking earth, a vision of their hellish demise just below them.

Magen: Kyouran no Me kara Kyoufu [ Demonic Illusion: Fear Through the Eyes of Madness ]

→→Description: A rather harsh Jutsu, this one forces an opponent to not only face their fears, but to succumb to them. Trapped within the technique, the user believes themselves confronted by whatever person or thing they fear most in life, ready to do battle and oppose it. But despite any efforts they make, their fear remains immune and imposing. And for every attempt to defeat this manifestation of fear, the user only fails and is instead paid back their efforts tenfold. Stabbing their illusionary opponent in the chest with a Kunai would only result in the user being impaled, for example. Once the opponent realizes this give and take relationship they begin to slowly realize their weakness and fall prey to an extreme sense of paranoia and the terror begins to consume them. Only exploits fears of others, & not those of non-human regards. (such as fear of fire).

Mougo Mukuro no Jutsu [ False Body Technique ]

→→Description: A very simple but useful Jutsu in which the user creates a false version of themselves. This is unlike a regular Bunshin no Jutsu in both its purpose, and the power of the technique. The false version of the user is created to look like the user has died, the exact cause of death up to the user to determine and tailor to current circumstances. The body will stand up to close inspection, look and even feel extremely real to any that look upon it, leading them to believe that they are indeed dead, and can even be cut apart and it will continue to appear as it if were real.

Kurayami no Oii [ Shroud of Darkness ]

→→Description: Requires Ataeru Kanjoo no Jutsu first be known. This Jutsu calls into being a sheet of inky darkness over an area of roughly five hundred square yards in length and 40 yards in height. This mass of darkness cancels all forms of natural light and sound, causing the area to become a perfect inky black. While inside the shroud, individuals are essentially rendered blind by the complete lack of light, and deaf by the loss of natural environmental sounds. However, the creator of the shroud is able to see clearly and unhindered by the loss of sound. If used by A.N.B.U. personal for village defense (non-npc), this jutsu's cost is that of a C-rank. If used by Oinin personal for tracking purposes only, this jutsu's cost is that of a C-rank.

Yawatanoyabushirazu no Suna [ Sand Maze ]

→→Description: After forming a series of seals, the user sends out a pulse of Chakra, somewhat similarly to the Yamanaka's Shintenshin no Jutsu. (for switching minds with their target) As such it is possible to dodge the Chakra, but as it is fast moving and invisible, one must be prepared for it in order to dodge. Once the blast touches, the target will immediately see great walls of sand rise up around them, forming into a great maze. Though the walls of the maze are not vastly high, whenever the user attempts to leap above them, the walls will grow, and the maze is without any exit, as it will constantly change in order to keep the target inside. The user, unlike the target of the technique, will be able to move through the maze however they wish, and as such they may repeatedly ambush the target while still being able to retreat behind the illusionary walls to avoid retaliation.

Trying to self-Kai out of this jutsu will result in an immediate reapplication, as will trying to injure one's self. Does not need to be maintained with a handsign. Any reapplications can be dismissed instead of allowing it to continue, by paying an A-ranked amount of Stamina. Breathe of Dirt's paralytic ability is negated here.

Gaishuukketsu Tsuchi no Jutsu [ Bleeding Earth Technique ]

The blood continues to flow, sticking everywhere, including the victim. It causes loss of movement, fear, panic, disorientation, and possibly disgust. The effects are compulsion based, for it brings with paranoia that someone is watching, someone is waiting, and this blood? This is what the world will look like when they are through with them.

Hitokiri Jutsu: Tsuuda Tsuchi [ Assassination Technique: Crushing Earth ]

While this happens, the victim's body slowly becomes tighter as they are being slowly crushed to death making breathing nearly impossible. This leaves the victim open for being easily eliminated. Paralytics to the target's upper torso, minus head. Intense pain wrecks everything from the waist on down.

Yougan Kiretsu no Jutsu [ Lava Fissure Technique ]

But, as the fissure continues to follow the target, the traces of the fissure begin to spew lava, producing great volumes of heat and choking ash. The force of this technique is so great that it becomes partially real, though in this can only cause E - ranked damage at most, equivilent to a sunburn in damage.

The entire world changes before their very eyes at an increasingly fast rate, in which a year can pass in one second, a decade passes in one [1] post, and so forth. It can literally cause a person to go insane if held long enough, since to the victim the world changes at a rate that is fast and horrifying. The worst effect is that this is long lasting: it mirrors the exact aging process that the objects will take if left for nature to take its natural course. The victim will also find themselves unable to move fast enough to save anything before it ages into dust.

Due to this, the afflicted will find themselves unable to register attacks coming from either flank, and will in turn also find targeting foes for attack more difficult than normal.

A simple Genjutsu, one merely only needs to wave their weapon or arms in a willow's fashion to produce the visual trickery.

Effects include the feeling of intense heat bearing down upon them, but does not include physical damage or pain.

The target feels completely relaxed and at ease, and then the user triggers the second stage by saying something along the lines of “The clouds are so nice and free…” When this happens, the target begins to get the feeling of becoming a cloud, and rising up to join the others in the sky. This Genjutsu is useful because it can make the target off-guard.

Fuketsu Koromo no Jutsu [ Dirty Clothes Technique ]

However, the cost remains at E - rank, effectively making this technique cost an E - rank instead of D - rank, and causing the duration of the technique to become set to six posts [6] per useage. Furthermore, Sight becomes a Primary sense, giving this combination no Secondary, requiring a double Kai to remove it.
→→Description: A Jutsu in which the target(s) see a large amount of dust rise up into the air and attach to the their clothes and any surrounding environments. The clothes then become incredibly uncomfortable to wear and move around in, making the opponent lose mobility and speed.

Sei Kyuuten no Jutsu [ Gender Sudden Change Technique ]

→→Description: This is one of the rarer techniques that uses Chakra as a Primary Sense, which means it is specifically anti-sensor. A simple Genjutsu in which the opponent hears the sound and feels the Chakra of approaching Shinobi, presumably allies of the user. This Jutsu can be used as an intimidation tactic, for stalling if necessary. A Sensor attempting to overcome this must pay double the amount of chakra of the original casting of this technique.

Suna no Akushumi [ Taste of Sand ]

While not a particularly deadly Jutsu the taste of the sand is quite disgusting and will usually cause the victim to stop what they are doing to spit the imaginary sand out. The sand will however remain until the Jutsu ends regardless of what the target does to spit out the sand. Causes cottonmouth.

Dokuji no Gyoushi [ Leer of the Peculiar ]

→→Description: A somewhat harmless Jutsu, this one is made through eye contact. A form of intimidation, this one seemingly communicates malicious intent upon a victim and is often used to open up attacks for teammates. Not necessarily stunning, it does provoke an opponent into thinking twice before engaging in battle. By paying an additional D - rank in cost the technique may be cast without handsigns. After duration ends the emotion that was caused remains, though it is no longer compulsory.

Kugurinukeru Meikyou [ Through the Looking Glass ]

This type of compound vision tends to make it a lot harder to decide exactly where something is by presenting a multitude of images and if nothing else it is extremely annoying but it isn't inherently dangerous. Does not need to be maintained with a handsign for the full 4 posts. Additional posts beyond that will need it, though.

Dokuji no Onsei [ Voice of the Peculiar ]

→→Description: This is a wonderful technique, comparable to the Chouba no Kage. A verbal aid, it manipulates a person’s voice and makes them seem either more or less imposing. When coupled before or after the Chouba no Kage, it can make the user seem possessed: changing both their voice and their shadow to those more intimidating. By itself, it can be used as a very noteworthy distraction and can also deter opponents from engaging the user right away. Skilled Shinobi can make their voice sound like that of other people they have encountered rather than just changing pitch and tone. →→Synchronization: If using Chouba no Kage and Dokuji no Onsei together, one upkeep activation will count for both techniques.

Youma Tacchi [ Ghost Touch ]

At first, the opponent is merely annoyed by these fragrance-filled, white petals being blown in their face. But then after a few seconds, the technique's effect kicks in and makes the opponent think and feel that they’ve been poisoned. Allows the technique to replicate the Oleander Hazard.

When an attack is nearing, the user of this technique forms a single seal to activate the technique, and then immediately moves to dodge the technique. The attacker instead of seeing the user dodging, will instead see (and if applicable feel) the attack strike their target with the appropriate effect (blood gushing out for example), and with their eyes drawn to the illusion instead of the real user, the user is afforded a short moment in which they are as good as invisible to their opponent in which they can use to either seek better cover, or even quickly counter-attack. While the technique is quite convincing, repeated use is not advised, as once the opponent is aware of the way to technique works, it is quite possible they may be able to counter it.

However, this dampening of the nerve endings is a double edged sword, as it can make discerning the amount of damage one has taken very difficult, and also greatly hampers the user’s ability to grip his or her own weapon.

The target of the Genjutsu then all of a sudden notices the fog coming toward him encasing him into a cloud. The victim(s) then feel himself ascend into the skies, or so it seems. Then, when brought up high enough, the cloud begins a rapid descent towards the ground, enabling the user to see what is happening. Overall, the effect is quite horrible as the body begins to feel itself reaching a Negative G-Force, which includes nausea, wasted adrenaline, possible blurry vision, definite tunnel vision, and if the Genjutsu is not dispelled quickly enough total red out of vision. The Genjutsu finishes as the ground is shown.

This technique may be learned as either an Illusory or Enchantment Genjutsu. If an Enchantment, the technique activates on those designated by indicating in some visible way those to be affected, who can be no more than twenty [20] yards apart, who will be the only ones to see it. As an Illusory, the technique simply manifests as a hologram, making it visible to anyone who looks at it.

Hitoiki no Chiri [ Breath of Dirt ]

Once activated, the Jutsu inhibits certain extents of rational thought by portraying the target as overly skillful. This, in turn, causes them to become overly brash and confident. And though this doesn’t necessarily improve combat effectiveness, it does block out certain skills from a victim's memory. In short, it makes them ‘forget’ to use certain techniques and only allows to them use more simple ones. In allies, this works exactly the same. Blocks B-ranked and higher defensive Jutsu from being thought about.

Using only a pre-designated seal as the focal point, the user is able to alter their Chakra to affect memories to a very basic extent by creating new ones which replace or block out anything current. For example, an enemy might come up to the user and try to interrogate their purpose. With this technique, the user will ‘suggest’ that the victim has mistaken him as somebody else and should carry on with his duties. Another way to use this technique is by making a victim suddenly remember that they have something to do. Another example would be like making a guard recall that they have to check the keys in at the barracks and must return to do so. The limits of this technique are obvious. Actual memories cannot be recreated, only suggestions which would allude to real memories. Also, these memories can be so false that a victim will realize immediately that there is something the matter and will see this as a sign of provocation. Not for combat use, but you can try!

They will see themselves, with the sand around them reaching upwards to form into bars, creating a square prison around the user with no apparent exit. Once the prison is fully formed the user’s perspective will snap back to their normal view, and no time will have passed, but the prison they saw will be surrounding them now. If the target attempts to push against the bars, they will feel completely real and they will be unable to push through them no matter how hard they try as their mind affected by the Genjutsu will hold them back.

The Jutsu, due to its simplicity [ even simpler in some ways than the false strike technique ], can be used in tandem with another one-handed technique, allowing the user to do things such as create a wall of sand to defend themselves, for example. On the fifth post and up the target is usually unconscious. To stop this Genjutsu the target must either disrupt the use's concentration or destroy the bells - their choice.

Once the illusion makes them believe they are captured, Kurenai will appear from the tree itself and stab her target with a Kunai. Produces a general numbing effect on the torso & arms, which a person's body takes to mean that they are being held in place, though in reality they are not. This numbing effect takes place during the second post of continual usage, after the user performs the disappearance in the first post.

These grotesqueries will reach out and grab a hold of the target. They will then be thrown into the void to the mercy of a spectral dragon. The terrifying Oni can even extend from the targets own body to attack them. All aimed at transfixing the victim with fear and shock while Kamina herself chokes and kills the target. Requires that both hands be unclothed & upon the target to work properly. Missing one or the other will diminish this jutsu's abilities to that of a D-rank.

As soon as the apparition appears, it lunges forth at the opponent and screams maniacally, among other actions. As long as the Genjutsu user keeps their hand on the target, the target continues seeing and feeling this illusion. By the end of the technique, if it has not been dispelled by any means, the targets feels themself suffocating, followed by a loss of consciousness. Requires a minimum of 4 posts of continual contact to initiate a loss of consciousness (which is considered paralytic)

When it impacts the target, it creates slashes and cuts all across their flesh and clothing, causing intense pain. The Enchantment is cast upon the user, and as such the Kai must be utilized upon the caster instead of the target to break the genjutsu. The slashing airwaves can only be used on one target at a time, but the “wounds” will last until the end of the technique.

Kimitsushitsu Wana no Jutsu [ Airtight Chamber Trap ]

This swirling wind gets stronger the longer it continues, until a true hurricane is manifested after five [5] posts of continuously moving air. The sounds generated by this wind cause sounds to be impossible to hear.

While the Genjutsu has no other effects, the feeling of doom that accompanies it can be more than enough to force the user to pause or rethink their actions, giving the user an opportunity to escape or counterattack while the opponent hesitates. This Jutsu cannot be kai’d.

The effects of this technique last for three posts, and the victim is then left disoriented and hard of hearing for an additional three posts.

→→Description: By subtly altering the way the target's brain interprets sound, a Shinobi who uses this technique can cause their opponents to twitch or convulse at every sound they hear. Most sound at normal volume levels - footsteps, someone coughing - will cause slight and nearly unnoticeable twitches in the target. Louder sounds like clashing steel or someone shouting will cause a momentary spasm in usually the arm or leg muscles. Extremely loud sounds like an explosion or someone scratching their nails down a chalkboard will cause the target to collapse and shudder momentarily. Anything in the upper echelons of human hearing - say 110 decibels - would cause violent and nearly bone breaking convulsions and if anything this loud was maintained for more than two posts the target would surely break their own back.

Damaged caused by the murder will linger for six [6] posts after technique end, though any attempt at healing them would reveal their illusionary nature.

When the enchanted object moves it creates a sort of blur, and by thrusting the limb at the individual they will see a barrage of attacks that will be unable to be avoided. It is over in an instant, leaving behind bruised muscles and flesh in a form of memory. The pain will fade over the duration, with the initial attack counting at the first “post” in the base duration, and the pain fading at the end.

→→Description: This is a unique and powerful Jutsu which is supremely hard to master. Much unlike other Genjutsu, this one affects an opponent’s mind very differently in that it causes hallucinations based on situation. Quite unique in this respect, it makes it so that every time the afflicted were to cause harm to another person, they would envision themselves being harmed instead. For example, an opponent making a lunge at the user would cause the afflicted to envision themselves in their place; visions of masochism, as it were. There have been stories of people too afraid to make any offensive attempts after being placed under this Genjutsu, unable to either defend or attack their opponents out of utter fear. As far as explaining the actual Genjutsu, it’s quite simple. In the above example, the person under the effect of this Genjutsu will always picture and ‘feel’ that they are dealing themselves some sort of pain. So when they try to stab an opponent with a Kunai, they will instead feel as if they are being stabbed with a Kunai, regardless of the outcome of their attack. The same goes for Ninjutsu or even other Genjutsu.

Kioku Shoumetsu no Jutsu [ Lapse of memory Technique ]

The first time a target is exposed to this Genjutsu, they instantly forget what they have been doing. The second exposure, they forget what they have been doing for the last 3 posts. A third exposure, and they forget what they have done for the last 10 posts. The fourth time of exposure, the target forgets the last in-real-life week. The fifth and last possible time of exposure causes the target to generate a temporary form of amnesia, stretching back an entire in-real-life month. However, the target slowly regains their knowledge after every 5 posts (descending in exposures), and cannot be reafflicted with a lower exposure until all healing has been performed.

For example, when the ANBU used this technique to bring back Naruto's memories about his conversations with Gennō, Naruto was more specific about the ramen he shared with the old man rather than their conversations, which the ANBU were asking about. The technique was also used, without success, by an unnamed medical-nin to attempt to reverse Menma's amnesia. Menma's memories eventually returned without the aid of the Time Reversal Technique after the Konoha hospital was struck by lightning. A.N.B.U. using it will allow for the chakra costs to be reduced to B-rank. Oinin using it are allowed to do so offensively, which causes the target to become exceedingly slow & drowsy as their mind is flooded with their entire history (or parts of) being relived all at the same time.

Sharp pains will turn into agony as the user can feel every tiny mouth ripping and eating the skin tissue and tendons until finally they break through. Hundreds of fat white maggots will spill out of the torn stomach and writhe on the ground, usually resulting in the user collapsing unconscious from pain, shock or horror.

→→Description: This technique was originally devised by a rather mischievous teacher who wished to impress upon the class the fearsome nature of Genjutsu, but once its effectiveness was seen it became a popular sand Genjutsu. It simply starts with the user stretching their hand outwards towards the intended target, and slowing closing as if grasping some invisible object. The target at that point will feel a tightening in their body, as if one of their organs were being grabbed (note: the particular organ isn’t specific, but it is typically the heart). If the target looks down at their body at that point, they typically will see several claws of sand embedded in their body near the affected area. With one swift motion the user will then pull, and the target will see and feel clearly one of their organs being torn free from their body, leaving a gaping hole in its place. Naturally this is incredibly painful, but that is the nicest part of the Jutsu for the target. Their body will quickly feel the effects resulting from the loss of that particular organ, and in the case of the heart, this will quickly lead to an incredible feeling of weakness such that any movement at all can quickly become impossible, as well as numerous other very harmful effects.

Shinkirou no Yogensha [ Prophet’s Mirage ]

In the desert formed by the Genjutsu, the victim sees those precious people getting killed in horrible ways, all while the images float and swim out of focus, like objects sometimes do on a very hot day. It generates a feeling of helplessness and despair, and leaves the target open to attack. Outside of the technique, the target is paralyzed while experiencing this illusion.

This Jutsu may also be used on someone who is asleep, not requiring eye contact in this case, but touch. While asleep, the victim begins to dream the scenario that the user plays out. This technique may also be used so that while speaking every word causes intimidation in the people spoken to, causing intense terror and paranoia to build within listeners.

Anger can be as liberating as it is blinding, and in a battle of cunning can bring about swift defeat. This technique embodies the mental state of fury and puts the opponent into a frenzy showing them various self-images and experiences. A spirit racked in archaic armor befriends the user as the technique begins. Then, after a few moments, the image seemingly breaks into the user's mind with its own icy hands and brings about the Jutsu's effects. Bitter defeats, times of struggle, loss of loved ones, anything that is already present in the opponent’s mind are distorted and amplified to shroud the user’s thoughts in utter rage. They become self-absorbed and can think of nothing but that solitary moment that replays over and over in their head. It is so engaging that they lose all sense of self and slip into mindless fury, increasing their Strength and Fortitude by two [2] Supremes, but reduce Speed and Reflexes by an equal amount. Eventually, however, this technique wears off and the user is left only with a lapse in memory (which can prove dangerous on its own).

Magen: Jifu no Gongen [ Demonic Illusion: Avatar of Conceit ]

→→Description: Pride has always been the downfall of many great men. The inability to accept the truth because one’s personal merit contradicts it can prove quite devastating when controlled properly. By this technique, the user distorts the scene at hand by reversing it to only black and white. Then, a man garbed in elegant clothes and sallow skin arises from just in front of the victim. From within his robes he takes a brilliant ruby and literally embeds it within the victim’s head. From that point forward, the illusions desist and the victim suddenly feels elated and able to do even the most impossible of feats. This sense of pride, however, blinds them from the fact that their movements are now clumsy and their senses dulled due to the mind-numbing focal point in their head. In effect, their battle effectiveness drops considerably, reducing all physical statuses by two [2] Supreme amounts.

Magen: Katsu no Gongen [ Demonic Illusion: Avatar of Thirst ]

→→Description: An arid desert sets the scene for the beginnings of this technique, withered trees and dying patches of grass littering the area around the user. Meant to only somewhat mimic the area in which the opponent once stood, the scene is used only to represent what is about to occur within the user. From wherever the user was last seen, a man cloaked in rustic and disheveled brown arises with staff in hand. Looking up slowly from sunken eyes and clearly diseased skin, he screams out with such force that it pushes against the user. At this, the scene quickly swirls around the opponent and all their senses are drowned out by the howling wind and sand. When they come to, a severe sense of dryness erupts from their throat and mouth. They lose the ability to speak under such stress and every breath taken is sharp to the touch. Difficulty breathing follows this pain, and a lethal sense of discomfort forces the user to break down. While under this effect, concentration is nearly impossible, reducing those afflicted to utilizing only one [1] activation per post.

Magen: Tentan no Gongen [ Demonic Illusion: Avatar of Apathy ]

→→Description: Laziness and idleness have also led many men to ruin during the course of history. But even more dangerous is not the inability to act, but the choice not to. Through this technique, that point is proven to the utmost by using false images to create doubt and an even greater scope of sluggishness in a victim. The setting begins in a darkened forest littered with cobwebs and the general sense of dread hanging over everyone present. Then, a child is heard weeping in the background as it finally reveals itself from within the shadows. A boy barely over the age of 10; his clothes depict a struggled life and the bags under his eyes hint at depravity. But his most prominent feature is the word “Choice” carved deeply into his forehead. After observing the boy for a few moments and drinking in the words he communicates by his very presence, he lets out a scream which plunges the victims back to reality. From here on out they are faced with hesitance in every action they take, their speed and reflexes diminished Supremely. The lesson they take from this experience is that their actions directly decide whether people live or die, that their actions carry so much weight as to decide to fate of an innocent child. This technique acts quite unlike every other Genjutsu thus far in that it makes it so that, for the duration, the user is unable to use any offensive techniques (even Taijutsu and unique ones). This does not, however, deactivate bloodlines; curses or anything of the sort.

Kotoba no Omomi [ Weighted Words ]

Being told to drop to one's knees will cause one to do so, being told to bark will make the target bark, etc. Does not work absolutely on foes of equal rank, but they will feel a strong compulsion to do the assigned task.

A charging enemy will stop dead in their tracks, just to listen to the wonderful sound of the speaker’s voice. Oddly enough, it is more difficult to make an enemy retreat than to make him join your cause. Enemies ordered to retreat will often begin to weep and beg the user to let them stay. However, a listener will carry out nearly any request short of killing his or herself.

Flashing a series of signs the user "primes" an area or object with a conditional Genjutsu. Whenever someone crosses the said area or tampers with said object loud thunder is sounded and can be heard well from everywhere. While partially unsettling for most people who were just walking around or touching something the Genjutsu does nothing more then alert the setter of this Genjutsu that someone set off one of his signals.
Guild Description: See official description. In essence, this jutsu affects all living beings in the area. This jutsu is stackable with more instance genjutsus. Other Instance Genjutsu may be primed, to a maximum of one [1] additional Instance per rank of the Genjutsu user.

Much unlike the rest of these Jutsu, this one is activated once a person touches a particular object that the user has placed the seal upon. It can be as obvious as a Kunai being sent at an opponent from any distance, or even the leaves of a tree. In short, what it does is it makes the user question whether or not the particular item existed or not. So if a person were to be stabbed with a Kunai, they would seem to not feel the pain of the Kunai, but would realize it much later since the effect of the Jutsu is quite short. In the example of leaves, a person could pass through a veil of leaves and only have their other four senses to rely on as to whether or not those leaves even truly existed, causing a very distinct sense of confusion. Applies only to the object that is sealed, & sets off when anyone touches it.

→→Description: Making a single hand sign, the user must first throw a Senbon, Kunai, or other projectile weapon, and then the Genjutsu takes effect. Working on the perception of the target, the weapon becomes many, turning anything from one Senbon into one hundred. Mainly used to get the opponent to get caught up with the oncoming weapons, it is a good distraction Jutsu. Can work on projectile Ninjutsu as well.

Dokuji no Gyoushi [ Leer of the Peculiar ]

→→Description: A somewhat harmless Jutsu, this one is made through eye contact. A form of intimidation, this one seemingly communicates malicious intent upon a victim and is often used to open up attacks for teammates. Not necessarily stunning, it does provoke an opponent into thinking twice before engaging in battle. By paying an additional D - rank in cost the technique may be cast without handsigns. After duration ends the emotion that was caused remains, though it is no longer compulsory.

→→Description: While the official description in the source material is that Kurenai disperses into flower petals to escape, this technique will cause an illusion of the user scattering in some sort of multiple particles. This can range from ash, to flowers, to leaves, to sand, etc. This serves as the Genjutsu variant to Shunshin, covering the escape movement through trickery, and follows the same rules and restrictions as others of its type. If used to avoid an attack, the user’s Reflex statistic is counted effectively as one rank higher [+1].

Go Kasho Fuu: Raikou Seki no Jutsu [ Five Point Seal: Lightning Barrier Technique ]

→→Description: A technique similar to Thunder Trap Seal, but proves to be stronger by manipulating the senses of the target. By flashing a number of seals, the Shinobi primes an area or object with a Genjutsu in the same manner as the Thunder Trap Seal. However, unlike the Thunder Trap Seal, when a target attempts to walk through the area or tampers with the object that has been primed, they receive the feeling of being electrocuted that even includes the smell of burning flesh. Specifically, if the Genjutsu was primed on an object, the target will have difficulty letting go. Dispelling the Genjutsu will remove the barrier.

→→Description: A technique fashioned for defense, this one takes a rather different approach. It is, in fact, fashioned for reversal and is quite dangerous in effect. Preparing the Jutsu ahead of an opponent's attack, it is passive until activated with precise Chakra control. Through any of the senses, the Genjutsu is passed on and it quickly alters the image an opponent sees. What appears to the opponent is a direct hit on their target. Whether it be as simple as a Kunai plunging into their thigh or a Genjutsu immobilizing them with fear, an opponent will see this outcome played out as exactly as if it would have really happened. Yet, it is the ability of this technique to make one think that and thus leave a very critical opening in any person’s defense.

→→Description: Raigen Raikouchuu is a Genjutsu technique that generates a large flash of light which blinds the enemy. Shii will first do a string of hand seals, then he generates a large pillar of lightning which hinders the eyesight of his target. A secondary visual genjutsu can immediately follow this one [not costing an activation] so long as the technique fits thematically with this genjutsu, and is no more than C - rank in strength. Due to the differences between anime & manga, this jutsu can also appear as lightning around the user's body, just before the main effect.

Iwa Semeku no Jutsu [ Rock Torture Technique ]

→→Description: The user performs a powerful Genjutsu on the opponent by first performing a series of seals. The opponent suddenly feels and sees himself chained naked to a large rock. Seemingly unable to move, the opponent sees a large flock of crows and ravens come swooping down. They land on and around the opponent and begin immediately ripping out bits of flesh from the body of the opponent and eating the flesh. The user feels immense amounts of pain. This is a Jutsu used specifically for torture, and it is incredibly effective. Not entirely useful inside of combat, as it does not contain any paralytics.

→→Description: Forming a series of short but complicated seals, the user once they're finished appears to concentrate as if summoning a vast amount of energy. Once the technique actually takes effect, the user will appear to glow for a short moment, before the whole area around them seems to explode. Those close by will feel the power of the blast, and may even suffer slight burns. This technique however, is purely false. In truth no explosion has occurred, and the user will typically use that illusion to cover their escape, often combining it with other techniques such as the false body technique (though in this case it will likely create nothing more than a red stain upon the ground). Though this technique can seem harmful, creating fake burns from the explosion, its purpose is to provide opportunities for escape, or counterattack for the user, making it a very powerful technique.

The reactions are psychologically inhibited and occur in the span of a few seconds, activated by both sight and touch. An opponent merely imagines themselves going through one of these reactions in quick spurts: blurred vision, delayed motor reaction, dulled sense of hearing, and trouble breathing. When used over and over again, they wear an opponent down and make other Genjutsu more invasive. The next Genjutsu, up to C-rank, is increased in effects by 1 rank on the chosen Primary Sense.

Magen: Nijū Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu [ Demonic Illusion: Double False Surroundings Technique ]

→→Description: This Jutsu places another visual illusion on top of a previous illusion created by the user. If and when the target dispels the first illusion, they will not realize that a second is in place. This essentially makes 2 visual genjutsus into 1, with the second half of the genjutsu being immune to 1 overall dispel attempt.

→→Description: ”This unnamed flower petal technique is a Genjutsu utilized by the Leaf Jounin Yuuhi Kurenai. If Kurenai becomes trapped in a Genjutsu or wants to appear to be trapped she can disperse into a shower of flower petals. With this technique these petals will fly around and consume her targets, dissolving their bodies away.“ The actual cost for doing this Jutsu is relative to the Genjutsu that is active. This is a form of “Kai”, but with an added bite: when breaking the genjutsu, by paying an appropriate cost and without costing one of the three activations each character receives, the user may ensnare the would-be attackers in a genjutsu of the user’s own list. Flower Petals need not be used, but terrain-appropriate replacements must be utilized.
