effeminate adj 1: having unsuitable feminine qualities [syn: emasculate, epicene, cissy, sissified, sissyish, sissy] 2: characterized by excessive softness or self-indulgence; "an effeminate civilization" [syn: weak]

what an awful ugly word!
now, "womanly" has no such connotations; that word conveys strength and self confidence.
the opposite of womanly is manly, which is a word i mostly see in romance novels but it at least has positive connotations.
but where is the male equivalent of "effeminate"?
we need a suitable derogatory word for men, that implies an undesirable excess of testosterone!
the very fact that there is no such word should tell us that we remain a male-dominated society.
so i humbly ask you, would you please suggest some appropriately demeaning adjectives for the male species?
yes i deliberately did NOT say the male "of" the species.
