At first, this may sound unimpressive. You can always catch and breed a Dragonite, right? Here's the advantage: it's level 50, but Dragonair normally evolves at level 55. Nintendo's official tournament rules are up to level 50, but ban pokemon over 50. This means that some pokemon are unusable. Non-legendaries that are unfortunately excluded are Dragonite and Tyranitar because they can't fully evolve until level 55.
Furthermore, in order to make it more useful, it is reported that it'll have some moves that it normally learns at a higher level, making it actually feasible to use.
Combined with the box trick, we will also be able to fully EV train it.
