Reality alteration

Mind altering substances, how do they affect our reality, has your reality ever shifted?

I recently came across a flower known as jimson weed, found a mature seedpod, ate some of the seeds and altered my reality, nothing like what I was expecting. All the hype says it's a very horrible reality opened by the datura(*jimson weed), yet all I did was pass out on the bed, aware of my surrounding, but unable to react. I do believe when they say it's a dangerous plant, but still, I wont rest until I have seen an alternate reality.

I see alternate realities in my dreams all the time. Usually it's through my alternate self's eyes, expierencing the world as they do. Crazy...

Sometimes things happen when I meditate, though I'm fairly certain what I'm experiencing are OBEs, so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

the OT had prophets who would take drugs or get drunk (or both) in order to see visions

they were not always reliable however;

our Seneca nation friend made us tea from the swamp wildflower called "boneset" and my whole family got high! he was so amused.

we did see colorful images and had a sensation of floating.

Drugs are like a lubricant to get the gears moving. The problem with them is that people dont stop taking them once their eyes have been opened. While it's good to keep everything loose, you cant get anywhere without traction.

I've left this realm numerous times especially when I go into meditation its quite nice to leave this realm every once in a while. At least that's what I think.

before we discuss reality alteration, we must first define reality.

is it the 'normal state' of our existance? if so, we alter it every day.

is it merely what we percieve? if so, we alter it every day.
