I read maybe the first eight or nine when I was in middle school, but someone had stolen or misplaced the next one in the series, so I was kind of stuck. I don't like to skip books. D: I've forgotten most of what happened, but a lot of my subsequent fantasy writing has been influenced by the Xanth series. biggrin

Have you read any of Piers Anthony's other books? (as if the Xanth series isn't enough--lol)

The land of Xanth, where each individual person has a special magic that only THEY can use. there are Elves and Dragons Merfolk and Demons and Harpies and Goblins and Ogres who are as strong as they are stupid, and can curdle water with a grimace. A world of puns.

Ah, my favorite will always be the first in the series. A Spell for Chameleon, but I think The Color of Her Panties comes in a close second (and no, not just because of the name)

I am a bit biased. Stork Naked, also, not for the name, but because HE USED MY IDEA IN THE BOOK. I AM IN THE AUTHOR'S NOTES!! 4laugh 4laugh
