I hope this is okay, I think I've got the gist of the whole mission thing.

A Pain in the Grass. No. 001

Poster: Youngster John

“In our small town here, of Pallet, there has been a lone pokemon attacking trainers who have received their first pokemon from Professor Oak. The reason that the pokemon is doing this is...well...I don't know. The pokemon is a Bulbasaur, just...a regular Bulbasaur. I don't care what you do with the pokemon, just take it away so the new trainers aren't beaten when they leave for the first time on their journey. It's obvious that the Bulbasaur is stronger than the pokemon given to the new trainers by Professor Oak, giving it easy wins. Please, find a way to get the Bulbasaur to leave one way or another. Again I say, I don't care what you do with it, just take it away from our town.”

Now, this is what is stated on the poster. To make a long story short, there's a Bulbasaur that is attacking the new trainers of Pallet. The poster just wants you to get rid of it. You can do what you want with it, catch it, drive it away, or give it to someone. It doesn't matter to me, just complete the bounty.

-Objective:
Get the Bulbasaur away from Pallet .

-Pokemon:
Bulbasaur if you want to catch it, or a pokemon egg may be given on the mission

-Rewards:
Depends on quality of mission.

Erik stepped off of the small ferry, waving to the captain in the wheelhouse. Whew. He'd been living on boats for the past twenty-four hours: first to Vermillion City, then Cinnabar Island, and finally to Pallet Town. It was good to be on solid ground again. He smelled the warm sea air. And good to be home, he thought. He might have lived in Celadon for most of his life, but Pallet was where he grew up, and he still thought of it as home. He strolled through town, just watching the people, looking at the buildings; a lot had changed since his childhood, but it was still just a little village, mostly forgotten by the rest of the world. He smiled - he liked it that way. He was watching a couple of kids, brother and sister, he guessed, play with a large red ball on their lawn when a notice posted on a wooden board in the center of town caught his attention. He read it quickly, apparently a rogue Bulbasaur was picking on the newer trainers. That was no good. And by the looks of things, nobody in town had anything that could stand up to it. He finished reading the poster, and noticed that the boy had stopped playing, and was now standing next to him, ball in his hands. His sister stood farther back, apparently keeping her distance from the stranger.

He spoke up; couldn't have been more than ten or twelve years old. "My daddy said that sign was about a mean pokemon. He said that's why we can't go play in the field. So now we have to play here. But the field was bigger an' more funner."

Erik smiled at the youngster. "Your daddy takes good care of you, huh? Tell you what - you can go tell him that you'll be able to play out there again soon, okay?"

The boy's eyes lit up. "You mean you're gonna go beat that nasty monster? But-"

His sister chimed in. She looked to be about two years younger than he was. "But Julie's big brother saw it an' he said it was a hunnerd feet tall an' it weighed five t'ousand pounds an' it was mean an' it was scary an' he never ran so fast in his life!"

The girl finally paused to breathe, and Erik cut in. "Well, I'll have to be extra careful, then, won't I?" he asked with a smile. He stood up, reaching under his jacket and taking one of the Poke balls off his belt. "Go, Miyagi!" The Machop burst out, an immediately began to flex its muscles. "Show-off," muttered Erik, still smiling, but the youngsters were thrilled. "I'll be back soon, okay?"

The pair nodded, their eyes wide with excitement. The nice man with the new pokemon was going to make the field safe to play in again.

As he waded through the tall grass north of town, Erik looked down at Miyagi next to him. The Pokemon was flexing even as it walked. He laughed a little bit. Arrogant little thing, but he'd grown attached to it. And at least it lived up to its own expectations. All of a sudden, a short, high-pitched cry erupted from a bush nearby. As Erik turned, a shape leapt out at him, but was intercepted in midair by Miyagi. The pair rolled over and over in the bush, and the attacker managed to wiggle free. It was a Rattata; not a real threat, but those teeth were definitely nasty, and who knew what kind of diseases it was carrying. Erik had been on the receiving end of them all too frequently. Miyagi sprung up in a fighting pose, facing off with the rodent.

"Nice catch," muttered Erik, and the Machop nodded briefly in acknowledgement.

The Rattata gave another cry and leapt at Miyagi, fangs bared. The Machop sidestepped the Quick Attack, and grabbed the rat by its tail.

"Miyagi, Karate Chop!" The Pokemon immediately brought its hand down on the rodent's skull, and it dropped to the ground, hard, but managed to shake its head and stand back up.

"While it's stunned! A Low Kick!" Erik shouted. Miyagi responded accordingly, dealing the Rattata a vicious blow. It was blasted backwards by the force of the kick, squealing, and disappeared into the growth. Miyagi resumed his flexing, all the more flamboyant with a recent victory under his belt.

Erik shook his head. "Yeah, yeah. We know you're great. Can we move on?" The pokemon followed him as he strode off.

The sun was nearly setting by the time the rogue made its appearance. One second, Erik had been peering into a bush. The next, something had wrapped around his ankles, yanking them out from under him. He quickly sat back up, straightening his glasses. A few leaves were stuck in his hair, but there would be time to worry about that later. He had this to deal with now. The Bulbasaur growled, and Miyagi once again adopted his ready stance, this time striking the first blow.

"Miyagi! Mach punch!" The lightning-fast blow struck the grass-type in the nose, but it recovered quickly, blowing a flurry of razor-sharp leaves at the Machop and Erik. Erik leapt less than gracefully out of the way, accumulating still more greenery in his hair, while Miyagi dropped to the ground, covering his head with his arms. The pokemon was back on its feet before its master, bearing some cut arms, but no serious damage. It gritted its teeth; the rogue had merely gotten it angry.

Erik spat out a leaf, getting back up in time to see a pair of vines lashing his pokemon. The Machop could do nothing but bear it at that range, and bear it he did, stoically. "Alright then. If that's how you want to play. Miyagi, use Revenge!" Miyagi grinned, charging the Bulbasaur. The rogue slid backwards under the furious onslaught, digging its claws into the ground.

The battle raged for quite a while. What I wouldn't give for a Charmander right now, Erik thought. Both pokemon stood panting, bruised and cut, but neither competitor was going to yield. The rogue rushed Miyagi with a tackle, and Erik straightened up. "This is our chance! Miyagi, Counter, now!" It seemed to Erik as if the scene unfolded in slow motion. The Machop remained stock still as the rogue loomed closer and closer, its head lowered. Miyagi closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and punched with all his might. The blow caught the Bulbasaur in a brutal uppercut, completely staggering the feral menace.

"Gotcha!" shouted Erik, hurriedly digging out a poke ball and heaving it at the Bulbasaur. It took the pokemon inside, and wiggled once, twice, three times, and went still. "Yes!" he cheered, running to the Machop's side. "Good job, Miyagi. Good job." He pulled the injured Machop into its poke ball to rest, and made a beeline back to town. The Route was safe once again.
