I've been thinking of starting for a while, and was wondering if anyone has suggestions, I'll probably go for a long board not a generic though.

If you're looking to just cruise on a skateboard then a longboard will do for you, but otherwise you can't really do any tricks on a longboard. But if you are looking to skate I recomend the following: World Industries or Element board for start. Once you get better at it then eventually you'll have a unite choice of boards, trucks, wheels, and bearings.

As they said. I had an Element Board. Yeah, if your really skating, get an Element Board, some skate shoes, and wear a helmet, just for safety, they may think your lame, but it's better safe than sorry. Unless you can land right, then you'll be "OK". *Reveals fall scar on side of a***

I would suggest a shorter board with wheels that don't go too fast... Don't want to land on your butt too much XD I'm still falling a lot due to my wheels...it takes awhile to get used to it. I have an ML...it's a New York skating company...it was recommended to me for a beginner board.

I really wanna start to and i've been reading all the replies. My question: what's a good store to look for those types of boards? Like should I go to d**k's, Zumiez, Online?
