Thank you, HarlequinGoddess for educating me, and hopefully a lot more people of this site called gaiaonline. ^^ I enjoy reading your 'Facts of the Day' and do hope you'll do something like this every day. I just wanted to say thank you, and do know you don't have to write back to this. Thank you again.

That is the sweetest thing ever! I am always happy to teach people. I'll try to keep this up even after the contest is over too. ^^

People like you and the others on gaia who are trying to educate other are well deserving of a thank you or at least a hand shake. I mean, heck, I hope you do continue this even after the contest. I enjoy learning new things every day. ^^ And besides, I wrote this thread to say thanks for at least trying your hardest.

You have no idea how much that means to me as an educator. I don't hear many people telling me they want to learn. More often than not they tell me they are in my class because they are being forced to take it.

Thank you! heart

I guess I'm one of those weird kids who actually wants to learn all there is to learn about anything and everything. Though I must say, it's sad that people in this world do not wish to learn. It will not get them anywhere in this world without knowledge. And please please, not thank yous, I'm simply saying thank you to you for doing something you love doing.

I was one of those odd kids too. I wanted to be a scientists when I grew up. I now work as a researcher, but I'm also an educator. It is a lot of fun, and I do love it.

I hope you can continue to learn as many things as you want to know. Don't give up!

Never shall I give up on my dream, as I hope you do not give up on yours. ^^ And thank you for the request, I do hope we can talk in private messages in more depth. ^^

I hope so as well! You are always welcome to contact me. I may not reply right away, but that is because I have a tendency to log on, make one post, then log off again because a book has caught my attention. xp

It's a shame that learning isn't cool these days. Sometimes I feel like kids think that being ignorant is something to be proud of. confused Educators definitely deserve more appreciation.

HarlequinGoddess: It's fine, I do the same thing actually. I'll log on for a bit, do something really quickly, and then log off and go read a book or play with my animals. So you'll have to excuse me if I do not reply quickly as well.

Uadzit: I'll agree with you on that subject. Oddly enough, I'm only 14, going to be 15 in about 20 days, and I'm on of the few kids at my High School who actually listens to the teacher, jots down notes, and thanks the teachers for doing their job and putting up with the other kids. And you're right, kids should start taking appreciation of the teachers for they have hard jobs when you really think about it, and not listening and blowing them off does nothing to help them.

I think this term I'm going to try to bring a little more excitement and energy to my class. I wonder if that will help the students be interested if I'm more excited about things. I can certainly see it as helping!

Hm. I'm off for a while. My boyfriend gave me a book on the Silk Road I want to read. See you guys tomorrow!

Definitely, kids enjoy doing things that excite them and the teacher. ^^ And alright, talk to you tomorrow and have fun reading your book.

That sounds good. It's good for them to be involved, too. Just listening to lectures and reading stuff is hard sometimes. I like to know the facts, but I also like to know the why of it, because that makes the facts more interesting. (:
