First of all I am not condemning any one to hell when I say this. I am a Christian, the term translating to little Christ, I am not claiming to be perfect because of my religious choice I am simply stating it so that It is out of the way but what I am going to say has absolutely nothing to do with what religion I chose to profess as a matter of fact it will almost make me sound like an agnostic. I hear a lot of people talking in a sense about god. BUT What I would like to say the most is this how do you not know that your "God" Is simply put not the same god that I believe in just presenting his/her self in manner that the person that started the religion or the group that started the religion could best understand/comprehend. For instance the Wicca belief system Is based around a goddess depending on the branch of the religion you delve into, while Native American religion revolved around a deity know as the Great Spirit, how are we to know that the deity that they worship while very similar was in fact not the same, the bible is littered with scenes where "God" manifests himself, now granted these may have just been hallucinations but like I said if the god that I worship is the same one that you worship what is to say that god didn’t plant these in that persons brain so that the one entity could gather more followers?

Enough of my rambling please leave comments and discuss this at your leisure I will check in on it periodically to leave my two cents

interesting, kinda reminds me of joan of arcadia, but anyway i agree this theory is extremely possible, but the beliefs of christianity and other religions are very different. i myself am Christian and God's beliefs are as far as i know only attain to christians and some Catholics. Then again i could be wrong and could have insulted future readers and i apologize if i have, for myself dont know much about religion outside my own.

Sounds sort of like emmanationism.
One God, and from that one God, comes multiple gods.

Which I believe came from the collective unconscious, in which we humans have made the gods.
God being without a gender, not separate from the world or anything, but the gods being apart of our minds in the great metaphors of mythology to come forth and help lead us through life in the way of an epic journey.

Btw, Wicca has both a god and goddess. 3nodding

I agree a lot with riku4245. Gods and such things my be real, but it depends on what you believe in. So, it seems to me that they are 'created' by humans. If there are no believers, there is no god/goddess/deity. Religions only survive if there are believers. If no one believed in God then Christianity would cease to exist as would God. If no one believed in Shiva then there would be no Shiva.

How do we know that God and Lucifer are not the same person? Could it not be that God slip himself to create his perfect angel, and that piece of him had been his darkness? He created Lucifer to be his right hand, but he was corrupted by God's power, which is why he thought he could take God's power from him. And is that why God cannot destroy Lucifer, becuase Lucifer is part of him? There are many different 'God's' and many different "Satan's" but could they all just be the same person? Two sides to the same coin?

lol... how do we know that God and Satan aren't the same entity? Because we believe the scripture. If you don't believe the scripture then there's no reason you must believe that there is a God and a Satan. So if you believe one, you believe the other; and if you disbelieve one then nor must you believe the other.

Truthfully, though, it seems to me that ALL things are a part of God. In the same way that our children are a part of us.

i think i saw a thing on tv about a excerpt from the bible that was taken out for fear of the people not needing the church. i think it went something like:
"there were many things left out of the bible, one stating that if someone where to ask god about hell he'd say 'hell is for people to repent' then ask haven't they repented enough? god would reply 'yes' finally asking to let them come to heaven a bridge would span between the two and take those who have learned their lessons to heaven" or something like that

Actually, Purgatory was made from fiction in medieval Italian literature, made popular by the poet Dante, and is not true canon as many people for some reason believe it is confused

According to Dante IN HIS POETRY (as in, not real, but fictional), Purgatory was the highest level of Hell in which righteous pagans were held until they were redeemed and allowed into Heaven. Since scripture states that Christ is the only way to Heaven, Dante related that all pagans would therefore go to Hell, where obviously they would realize firsthand that Christ IS the true God and correct their ways.
