Water Master Mission 1

The Sun Bubble

Recently, the water level of the Lake of Rage has been decreasing. There's been rumors going around that there's a reason for it. Years ago, it was just a Red Gyarados that caused trouble for sightseers to the lake. Now, there's a golden Gyarados – giant – that could be tied to the lake's receding. I don't think it could drink that much water. How it could cause this phenomenon is beyond me. In fact, how a golden Gyarados could come to be is beyond me as well.

I have an idea, though. A few months ago, a jewel was stolen from Ecruteak, the Sun Bubble. It's a bright, amber colored bauble that when dropped into an eight ounce cup of water, can evaporate the water in eight seconds. It seems unlikely, but what if a Magikarp swallowed it? Could it be the cause of the mutated evolution? If it is, then you gotta retrieve that jewel before the Lake of Rage is gone and the residential Gyarados go out on a rampage! I'm willing to bet that this Gyarados is a tough cookie and it'd be even tougher to get that jewel out of it if it has it...

I don't even wanna know how you'd get it out.

If that weren't enough, there's a more natural disaster happening in Sinnoh. At least, I think it's natural. It's been pouring over Lake Verity nonstop and its water level is raging out of control and already threatening to flood the nearby towns. If you can get the Sun Bubble, see if there's a way you could use it to stop the rain and bring the water level of that lake back to normal. In fact, see if there's a cause of that rain. When you're done, make sure no one will be able to find that jewel again.

...And don't toss it in the ocean.

---

Taakuin was already on his way to Lake Rage, not wasting any time on getting there. He wasn’t very happy that all the water of the lake was being unnaturally evaporated, so of course, he had to stop it. He was on his hover board, just entering a town. He jumped off, putting the board away and walking to a store. He checked his PokePalm map, checking to see how far he was from Lake Rage. If he kept going, he could make it there by tomorrow morning, but he’d need to set up camp. It was a big lake, and it’d take more than a few hours for it to dry up. He’d set up camp when it got dark, and continue in the morning. “Alright, good plan.” He said to himself, suddenly realizing quite a few people were looking at him weird. Apparently he’d been mumbling to himself. “Ehehehe…okay then…” he said, rushing out the door in an attempt to get away. It was unsuccessful though, since right after he pretty much collided with a bike rack, causing all the bikes to fall over, and him to land on his face. He didn’t want to move, he could feel everyone’s eyes barring into him. When would it stop? D:

Then he heard it, an all too familiar voice. “I see you found the bike rack huh, Taakuin? X3” Taakuin lifted his head, looking up. His eyes widened, in front of him was his old friend, Kyra. She held out a hand to help him up, grinning. Taakuin took it, getting pulled up off his face. He brushed himself off, smiling in an odd way. Kyra looked like she did a few years ago, but now she was older, and things had changed since then.

“Kyra? I haven’t seen you since you left!” he said. He had made friends since Kyra had left, but she was still his best friend, although they hadn’t been in contact since she left on her journey.

Kyra smiled, “Yeah, I traveled around and finally ended up here as a Ranger.” She showed him her tool that she used to control wild Pokemon, and then tucked it away. It looked legit to Taakuin, but her outfit….

Taakuin looked at her, her outfit was nothing like a Pokemon Rangers, “But you don’t look- ._.” he said, but was cut short. Kyra held out an ID card with her picture, name, and a seal indicating her as a certified Ranger.

“I hate their outfits, so I don’t wear it. It’s pretty good for undercover work too…. so what are you doing here?” she asked, looking him up and down. She apparently didn’t think anything of his hybrid appearance, must see some interesting things as a Ranger.

“I’m actually on my way to Lake Rage.. there’s this Gyrados an- ._.” he started to say, but was cut off yet again. Kyra held out a paper.

“Already heard about it. The Golden Gyrados is evaporating the lake’s water, something caused by the Sun Bubble. I was planning on heading out there myself.” She said, looking at Taakuin. He jaw dropped.

“How do you know all of this?!” he asked. He didn’t think Pokemon Rangers knew –everything- that was happening in the regions.

Kyra grinned, “I know plenty of things that the other Rangers don’t. Surprised?” Taakuin grumbled, putting his hands in his pockets.

“You were always a step ahead of me…” it was true, Kyra always seemed to know what was going on, and always had a plan for things.

Kyra giggled, putting away the paper. “Anyways, as long as we’re both headed there for the same thing, how about we go together? Save us some grief in the long run.” Kyra said, putting her hands on her hips.

Taakuin nodded, “Sounds good, I was going to keep going, set up camp, and continue in the morning. It’d allow some rest before we plan on taking on that thing.” He said, referring to the Gyrados.

Kyra nodded, “My thoughts exactly. I’ll get my things, meet me at the other side of town okay?” she said, running off. Taakuin nodded, walking to the towns other side, the one towards Lake Rage.

A while later Kyra came walking up, a backpack slung over her shoulder, and a sleeping bag strapped to the top. Taakuin was about to take out his hover board when Kyra threw out a Pokeball, sending out a Charizard. Just as he was about to ask if it could carry both of them, she threw out another Pokeball, this one containing an Aerodactyl. “You can ride my Aerodactyl. He’s well trained, don’t worry.” She said, climbing onto Charizard’s back.

“Worried? Of course not…” Taakuin gulped, climbing onto the Aerodactyl’s back, holding on tightly, making sure not to look down. Before he knew it they were in the air, flying over the forest. Taakuin eventually looked down, watching the trees fly by underneath them. He eventually got used to it, and was enjoying himself. He hadn’t had this much fun since he and Kyra were kids. After a few hours, the sky was getting dark, and before long it was filled with stars. They started to descend, landing softly (or as softly as a Charizard and Aerodactyl can) on the ground. Kyra returned Aerodactyl, and began setting up a fire pit. “I’ll go get some wood.” Taakuin said, walking off.

He began to pick up pieces of wood, letting out his Feraligatr to help him. The two came back with plenty of wood, setting some of it on the pit with some dry grass and twigs underneath. “Alright, Charizard, if you would be so kind.~” Kyra said. The Charizard nodded, shooting out a small flame (at least for a Charizard) and lighting the fire. Kyra thanked him, returning him and putting the Pokeball away. She layed out her sleeping bag, getting inside and laying on her side, facing the fire. Taakuin got out his sleeping bag, getting inside. “So tomorrow I think we should stop at the town before Lake Rage. We can try to figure out some things about the Sun Bubble, and if there’s any way to stop it.” Kyra said.

Taakuin nodded, “Yeah, it had to come from somewhere, but who would make something like that?” the question was really nagging Taakuin. He had a few ideas, but he still couldn’t think of why someone would purposely drain a lake. He would’ve thought about it more, but he was tired.

Kyra turned facing up, looking at the stars. “I’m not sure, but we’ll figure it out sure enough…. Well, goodnight Taakuin.” She said.

“Night Kyra..” he replied, falling asleep in a matter of seconds. The question tucked away in his subconscious. He’d unknowingly be working on it all night, bits of things making their way into his dreams. His dream included parts of previous missions he had done, and two specific things kept coming up…

The next morning Taakuin woke up to find that the fire was put out, and Kyra was all packed up and ready to go. “About time you woke up. x)” she said, tossing out Charizard and Aerodactyl again. Taakuin mumbled, rubbing his eyes and packing up his things. He climbed onto Aerodactyl’s back, too tired to be nervous this time. Kyra nodded, the two Pokemon taking off. Again they were flying, and in an hour or so would be close to Lake Rage, and hopefully finding out some things about the Sun Bubble. Kyra hadn’t mentioned anything about Taakuin being a hybrid still, and he was beginning to wonder why she wasn’t acting surprised. After a while he decided he’d ask later, most likely after they got the Sun Bubble taken care of.

After about an hour and twenty five minutes, the town they were headed to was in sight, and they began to descend. Charizard and Aerodactyl made their land on the ground, and once Taakuin and Kyra were off, they were returned. “Alright, I think we should split up and see what info we can find on the Sun Bubble.” Kyra said as they walked into town.

Taakuin nodded, “Meet in the middle of town in an hour.” The two then split up, Taakuin taking the east side and Kyra taking the west. Taakuin walked along the streets, asking everyone he saw if they knew anything about the Sun Bubble or what happened at Lake Rage. He wasn’t having any luck, until he found a middle aged man looking rather suspicious. Taakuin quickly hid, making sure not to get seen by him. “Maybe he can lead me to something…” Taakuin said quietly, following the man down an alley, hiding behind boxes and garbage cans. Taakuin peeked his head out from behind a dumpster, to find that the man was gone. “What?! Where’d he go?” he said silently, running up the alley, which was still empty. He then heard footsteps, ran back and hopped into the dumpster, completely disgusted.

The footsteps got closer, and Taakuin now noticed that there was more than one person. He barely opened up the top of the dumpster, just enough for him to see out of. Two men were standing next to the wall of the alley, holding some crates, about two each. Taakuin tried to get a closer look at the crates, but before he could, the wall opened up in front of the men, allowing them to walk in, and disappear. Taakuin opened the lid of his hiding spot as the wall closed again, a bit dumbfounded. “Well that counts as suspicious for me. >.>” he said, climbing out of the dumpster. Luckily nobody had dumped any garbage on him. “Hmmm… how’d they get it to open?...” he said to himself, examining the wall. After a bit of pushing bricks, turning them, and trying to find a hidden button, he decided to wait for more people to pass. He hid behind some crates next to the door, making sure he’d be out of sight. He heard footsteps again, and this time it sounded like one person. ‘Alright, I’ll see how they open the door, and then knock them out. The old disguise thing, usually goes well for me…’ he thought to himself. Taakuin watched a man walk up, and put his hand to the wall. The wall opened, and Taakuin made his move.

He jumped out from his hiding spot, hitting the man over the head with a metal rod he had ‘coincidentally’ found. The man fell to the ground, groaning. Taakuin growled, looks like he’d have to hit him harder. He took the pole, hit the man with it again, and made sure he was out cold. “That’s gonna hurt when you wake up, which will hopefully be enough time for me to get the info I need…” Taakuin said, taking the mans uniform and depositing him in the dumpster. He covered him up with a few things so he wouldn’t be seen, just in case. Taakuin slipped into the uniform, which he realized was, go figure, a team Magmas uniform. “Well that’s interesting, but I guess it makes sense since the lake is being dried up…” Taakuin said to himself as he walked up to the wall. He put his hand to it just like the man did, and sure enough, the wall opened right in front of him, sliding upwards.

Taakuin noticed that right above the ‘door’ wasn’t really there. It was a hologram, allowing the wall to shift up. “I’ll have to keep that in mind…” he said as he walked in. Right next to him as he looked around, he found some of the crates that the two earlier men had been carrying, and picked them up. It looked as though they hadn’t been taken to the right room yet. Stroke of luck for Taakuin, now he’d be able to figure out what was inside of them. Although he couldn’t open them right now, he’d surely do it later when nobody was around. He walked through the large base, he’d decided to call it that now since Magmas was there, looking for the room that the other crates were in. He wasn’t having any luck, and finally decided to get spotted.

He didn’t need to act like he was completely lost, because he was. Another Magmas member saw him, walking up. “What are you doing? Those are supposed to be on the lower level with the others!” She said, pointing over to the stairs. She didn’t look very happy.

Taakuin nodded, walking in the direction of the stairs, restraining himself from speaking. He made his way down the stairs, a few people passing him and saying a, “Hey.” Or “Don’t trip! x)” He nodded a hello at each of them, finally getting to the bottom of the stairs. He looked around, and spotted a room with an open door. A few crates could be seen inside. “Alright then…” he said, walking to the room and closing the door behind him. He locked it, just to be safe. He set his crates down, looking around and finding a crowbar. He wedged open one of the crates, and threw the lid off. Inside of the crate was what looked to be a jewel. It was blue-ish grey, almost as if it was a home-made cloud. “Well that’s interesting….” Taakuin said quietly, picking up the jewel.

Nothing happened when he picked it up. Taakuin then heard a bang on the door, he began to panic. Just then, as if reacting to the sudden emotion change, the jewel glowed slightly, and began to release what looked to be… rain? He held it by the top, and sure enough, drops of water were coming out of the jewel. He didn’t have time to think of how this happened, but wrapped it up and stuffed it in his backpack. He set a few things around the room, all on the boxes. He placed the lid back on the crate, and opened the door. A man was standing there, holding more crates. “Thanks, couldn’t get my key.” The man said, walking in and placing the crates down on the ground.

Taakuin nodded. “No problem.” He said, waving and walking out of the room. He tried to keep his emotions calm in an attempt not to cause the jewel to act up again. He needed to get out of there, and tell Kyra what he’d discovered. He passed a few people, waving and then picking up his speed. He reached the top of the stairs when he saw what he hoped he wouldn’t. A few people were next to the man Taakuin had knocked out and gotten his uniform from. “Not good…” Taakuin said, attempting to stay un-noticed. He was making his way to the door when someone grabbed his shoulder.

“I knew something was suspicious about you.” A voice said. Taakuin knew it was that of the females that he met earlier. Taakuin knew this was going to turn bad. Best he can do is get away for now. He took out a small round object, throwing it on the main computer he saw earlier.

“Too bad for you you’re not getting away with this, Magmas.” He said, taking out a small cylindrical object. It had a red button on the top, and could be recognized as a detonator. “I’ll see you guys later.” Taakuin said, running towards the door. He didn’t have time to try to open it, about 5 people were on his tail. He took a deep breath, jumping off a small extension on the wall, and jumping right above the door. He closed his eyes, not seeing that he passed through the wall and was headed straight for the dumpster. He landed on the lid, sliding off and onto the ground. “Damn that hurt…” he said, standing up and running out of the alley. He ran into the middle of town, looking around. He didn’t see Kyra, but he did see her Aerodactyl. “Must’ve gotten into some trouble herself…” Taakuin said, running to the Aerodactyl.

He jumped onto it’s back, and got it to take off. He flew up high in the air, looking down at the town. He spotted Kyra, who was flying towards him on her Charizard. She stopped next to him. “I got into a bit of trouble with some Magmas people.” Kyra said, pointing down to a large flaming truck on the west side of town. It looked as though it’d been hit by a meteor.

“Funny, me too.” Taakuin said, pointing to the east side of town and pressing the detonate button. There was a sudden explosion from one of the buildings, followed by smoke and fire. “I’m sure they’ll get the fire put out, it’s all on the inside anyways.” He said, tossing the detonator away. “So what were your Magmas up to?” he asked.

Kyra motioned for him to follow her. “They were unloading some crates with this weird jewel in them. I managed to get one of the jewels, and then I had Charizard blast burn the place.” She said, patting the large flying lizard. It looked proud.

Taakuin followed her, nodding. “That fits with mine. They were bringing crates into some secret base. I got a jewel too. I detonated the rest of the crates and their main computer.” He said, thinking of the jewel in his backpack. He still didn’t know what they were doing with something that ‘causes’ rain. They were usually the ones trying to drought places, which made him decide it was them that was doing things at Lake Rage.

They continued going over what had happened, trying to think of what they were up to. Taakuin then noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Something blue was there. He turned to see what he guessed was Lake Rage, but it was much smaller than it should be normally. He then saw something shining. Upon a closer look, he saw a very large, golden Gyrados, sitting in the middle of the depleting lake. Multiple regular Gyrados were swimming around it, although Taakuin couldn’t tell what they were doing. He pointed it out to Kyra, who nodded. They began to descend, keeping their eyes on the Gyrados. When they landed, Kyra returned Charizard and Aerodactyl. They then began to walk towards the lake.

Taakuin looked at the Gyrados from behind a rock, while Kyra monitored them from a tree. The regular Gyrados seemed to be keeping the Golden Gyrados in it’s place, almost as if it were their captive. Taakuin pointed this out to Kyra, who nodded in agreement. She spoke her opinion on it.

“It looks to me like the Gyrados aren’t happy their lake is drying up, and it seems they know it’s the Golden Gyrados. They might be keeping it there so that if it tries to get anywhere they can stop it. Maybe we can get their help to beat the Golden one.” She said, taking out a Pokeball. She suddenly stopped, putting the Pokeball away. She turned to face Taakuin. “Taakuin, I know that you have to do this by yourself.” She said, but before he could say anything she started again. “I know you’re part of Snagem, and that’s why you’re a hybrid. Like I said before, I know more things than the others. ^^” She said, standing up. “You have to do this on your own. I’ll go check things out in Sinnoh, but don’t be surprised if you have some more work to do over there!” She tossed out a Pokeball, getting onto her Charizard. “Good luck.” She said before flying away.

Taakuin hadn’t even gotten to say anything, but there wasn’t really anything to say. He knew he had to do this on his own, but hopefully he’d see her in Sinnoh again. “Alright then, time to get this started.” He said, taking out a ball containing his Gyrados, Titan. He walked up to the edge of the depleting lake, throwing out Titan’s ball.

The Gyrados looked at the others, tilting his head. ‘Something you need?’ he asked, turning to Taakuin. It must’ve been odd, finding himself with all these other Gyrados.

Taakuin nodded. “I need you to talk to them. They seem to be after the same goal as us.” He pointed at the Golden Gyrados, which was now looking at them, causing a shiver to run down Taakuin’s spine.

Titan nodded, swimming over to the Gyrados. Taakuin could see them ‘talking’ to each other, and Titan came back, followed by another Gyrados. Titan nodded to the Gyrados. ‘He says that they don’t want you here, and that they can handle it on their own.’ He said. The Gyrados was looking at Taakuin, obviously not happy.

Taakuin shook his head. “I’m helping them weather they want it or not.” He said, taking out another few Pokeballs. “Jubs, Jaws!” he said, releasing the Pelipper and Sharpedo. “I need your help. We ha” “GGGGGGGAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYRRR!” Taakuin was cut off by the loud call of the Gyrados, who was about to fire a hyper beam. “ACK! Scatter!” Taakuin said, running out of the way. Jubs flew into the air, and Jaws dove into the water. Titan however, stayed, firing his own hyper beam at the attacking Gyrados.

The Gyrados was hit, looking at Titan angrily. It rammed into him, knocking him into another Gyrados. The two bit onto Titan, hard. Titan let out a strange noise, firing an ice beam at one of them. It began to freeze from the bottom up. Jubs flew past, helping out. The Gyrados was soon frozen solid, left alone until later. The other Gyrados however, was still biting Titan. It fired a hyper beam, hitting Titan hard, but causing it to let go and have to recover from the attack. This was the perfect opportunity. “Jaws use crunch! Jubs use hydro pump!”

The Sharpedo jumped out of the water, crunching down hard onto the Gyrados. It let out a shriek, and was then hit by Jub’s hydro pump. It was getting pummeled by attacks, getting angry. “Titan hit it with a hyper beam!” Taakuin called. Titan fired the orange-yellow beam at the Gyrados, knocking it back. It was still conscious, but didn’t move. It knew when to take a break. Just when things calmed down, the other Gyrados came in. Unfortunately, there were about five.

Taakuin cursed. “Alright, Jubs, Jaws, return!” he said, returning the two to their balls. He ran over to the edge of the lake, which was getting lower and lower. “Alright, Titan, I’m not sure you’ll feel very good after this.. but… use rage and then thrash!” he said as the five Gyrados moved in on him. They stopped when they saw Titan getting angry.

He was turning red, staying in one place, eyes crossed. Next came thrash. Titan began to whip his head and tail around, knocking into the other Gyrados multiple times. It caught them off guard, which was just what Taakuin was hoping for. He was swimming his way to the Golden Gyrados, passing the others without being noticed. “Titan use hyper beam on full blast!” This was going to get interesting. >.>

Titan fired the beam, but this time it was larger, and seemed to be more powerful. The Gyrados were knocked away, most of them not unconscious but at least one of them was. Titan pumped the beam for all it’s worth, knowing that after this he was getting returned, which was just what happened. A red beam hit Titan, returning him to his ball to Taakuin, who was underwater next to the Golden Gyrados.

Taakuin had no idea what he was going to do to get the Sun Bubble from the Golden Gyrados, but decided to do something stupid and reckless. He jumped out of the water, clinging onto the Golden Gyrados and climbing up it. It didn’t seem to have noticed him yet, which meant it must’ve had a pretty good defense. Taakuin got onto it’s back, and began climbing up to it’s head, using the ‘spike’ fins on it’s back to do so. The Gyrados noticed Taakuin now, turning it’s head to see him climbing him like a jungle-gym. It thrashed about, attempting to get Taakuin off it’s back. Taakuin wouldn’t let go though, clinging onto it like his life depended on it.

He then had an idea. He reached into his backpack, taking out the jewel he had taken from Magmas. His emotions went into action, fear and determination, and the jewel began to let out water, much more of it than before. He tucked the jewel into his glove, the water still pouring regularly out of it. He began to climb, at least his jewel would counter the Sun Bubbles effects. After a while of clinging and climbing, he got to the head of the Gyrados, which was definitely massive. It was easily bigger than any other Gyrados, and just as scary.

“Now how do I get the Sun Bubble out…” Taakuin said to himself as the Gyrados stopped thrashing about. It began to ‘talk’, and Taakuin could understand it. He had forgotten that he could understand Pokemon that hadn’t had a rainbow pokeblock now.

‘That cursed jewel is in my stomach. These humans came one day while I was a Magikarp, and forced me to swallow it. It caused me to evolve, when I wasn’t ready to yet. I grew much bigger than all the others, and once the water started to go away, I knew it was me.’ it said in a hurt voice. ‘I don’t know what to do, I get so angry. The others were confining me here, they knew it was me, but that it wasn’t my fault. They were protecting me and everyone else.’ It’s eyes showed it’s emotion at that moment, sorrow.

Taakuin stood up, patting the Gyrados on the head. “I’ll figure something out. I don’t want to hurt you, so just stay calm alright?” he said, taking out a Pokeball. He sent out Boonie, his Buizel. Boonie was small for a Buizel, and would be able to help out, a lot. “Listen Boonie, I need you to go inside this Gyrados, and find a jewel that looks like this, but orange. It’ll be glowing.” Taakuin said, showing him the jewel that was still releasing water. Boonie seemed good, but going inside a Gyrados was –not- going to work for him. The Gyrados didn’t like the idea either.

‘What if something happens to him while he’s inside me? I don’t want to hurt him.’ The Gyrados said, hearing Taakuin talk to him. Boonie agreed, clinging onto Taakuin’s leg. ‘He’d be able to get in easily, but I’m not sure how he’d get out.’ The Gyrados said.

Taakuin already had this planned out. “I have it all planned out, Boonie, just take this jewel with you, and when you get the other one, get really emotional.” He said, handing Boonie the blue-grey jewel. Boonie looked unsure, but finally agreed, sliding down until he got to the mouth of the Gyrados. “Just don’t chew!” Taakuin said to the Gyrados, who nodded and opened it’s mouth. Boonie was shaking, but walked inside.

He walked right down the middle of the mouth, avoiding the teeth, standing right next to the throat. He gulped, sliding down the throat with his eyes closed. He landed in water, his ring inflating. “Bui…Buizel…” he said, looking around. He didn’t see anything glowing, and dove under the water. He tried not thinking about what was in there with him, but couldn’t help it. He propelled himself with his tails, clinging onto the jewel he had. He spotted something glowing, and swam to it. He grabbed what he thought what was the jewel, but it turned out to be a Chinchou, looking absolutely terrified. Boonie grabbed the Chinchou, swimming along with it and using it’s light.

He then found something else glowing, it seemed to have a small whirlpool going into it. Boonie swam over, picking it up. It was an orange-red jewel, glowing. Boonie held onto it tight, along with the Chinchou. He let his emotions out, or emotion, fear. The water began to rise, and Boonie inflated his ring. He and the Chinchou floated to the top. In a sudden rush of water, Boonie and the Chinchou were launched out of the Gyrados’ mouth, help from a hydro pump. Taakuin thanked the Gyrados, who also thanked him.

‘Thank you, I’m not sure if I will ever look normal, but at least now I won’t be a danger to the lake.’ It said, swimming away. Taakuin had jumped off of it, diving into the water and swimming to where Boonie had landed. Boonie was floating there, holding both jewels above him. “Nice work Boonie.” Taakuin said, taking the jewels and putting them both in one plastic baggy. The blue jewel was letting out water, but the orange one was evaporating it, causing the bag to inflate. Taakuin put them in separate bags, making sure not to activate them. He then tucked them away, and returned Boonie.

“Alright, I have an idea who’s behind things happening in Sinnoh.” Taakuin said once he reached the shore. He took out his hover board, hopped on it, and took off for Sinnoh as fast as he could. He had an idea or two on how to stop the flooding, unless Kyra already did something over there. He still had about three hours before it would start to get dark, and would hopefully be able to get things cleared up before then. He desperately wanted to go back to HQ. He’d left without saying anything to anyone.

After a while, he found himself in the Sinnoh region, and luckily he was on the west side, very close to Lake Verity. He got off his hover board and made his way into the woods, not being able to navigate through that many trees. He noticed something once he was about 20 minutes in. The ground was muddy and wet, and there was some water flowing past him. “I must be getting close…” he said, continuing to walk. After another 10 minutes, he emerged at the lakefront. The lake was over flowing, the island in the middle was getting smaller and smaller. “This isn’t good…” Taakuin said, looking around.

He had noticed that there were some dark storm clouds above, and began to question them. “It’s a perfectly sunny day… why would there be clouds?” he said to himself, tossing out Jubs Pokeball. The Pelipper looked at the clouds, flying up without needing to be told. Taakuin waited for a few minutes, and Jubs was soon back, squawking. “So there’s a machine up there huh?” Taakuin said. “Thanks Jubs, I’ve got a plan.” He returned Jubs, wondering how he’d get up to that altitude. Right there, perfect timing again, Kyra’s Aerodactyl swooped down, picking Taakuin up and tossing him on it’s back. “I don’t see her though… guess she just sent you to help me huh?” he said at the Aerodactyl.

The Aerodactyl flew up to the clouds, using gust to clear a spot in them. Sure enough, hidden in the clouds was a large flying machine, a massive ‘A’ on it. “Aquos, go figure.” Taakuin said as they flew up to the machine. They’d most likely be spotted, but he was going to be sneaky anyways. He found a window on the machine, kicked it open, and climbed in. He was in an empty room, which was good for him. He couldn’t find an Aquos uniform though, so had to just not get spotted. He cracked open the door, observing his surroundings.

Looked like there were two members out there, talking to each other. Taakuin took a small screw from the window border, and threw it across the room, causing a loud ‘clink’. The members heard the noise, walking over to the other door, and giving Taakuin an opportunity to get out of that room. He found some boxes stacked up, and hid behind those. The two came back, and began talking again.

“Man, that turned out horrible over in Jhoto. I heard the base got blown up along with all the jewels.” One of them said. Taakuin was wondering why he was concerned about a team Magmas base. He kept listening.

“Yeah, apparently someone had disguised himself as a member, and rigged the place with bombs. That was supposed to be our distraction, which didn’t work out so well. At least Magmas will get blamed when it was really us.” The other said, laughing. Taakuin then realized that it was Aquos, disguised as Magmas, just doing all that for a distraction. It made him feel pretty stupid.

‘Alright, now I need a real big distraction.’ He thought to himself. Suddenly, the whole room shook, and blasts could be heard outside. Alarms went off everywhere, red lights flashing. ‘Well, that’ll work.’ He said to himself again, dropping a detonation bomb in his place and running for the other door. The two members ran after him, but soon gave up when the whole ship seemed like it was falling. “Man, I didn’t want ‘that’ much of a distraction! >.<” Taakuin said, tossing another bomb above him.

He opened another door, finding himself in the main room with all the computers. “Just like last time.” He said, throwing multiple bombs around the room and running for the piloting area. Luckily for him the windows were really big, and he was able to easily break them by kicking with his right automail leg. He got out onto the front of the ship, tossing another bomb on it before jumping off the ship. He hoped he was right about what would happen. He closed his eyes as he jumped, and felt himself thump against something. He opened his eyes to find himself on the back of Kyra’s Aerodactyl, which was flying him down to the lake.

Once they landed Taakuin took out another detonator, holding his thumb over the button. “Just wait for it to get over an empty area… and… now.” he said, pressing his thumb down and watching multiple explosions on the ship. It began to descend to the ground, and Taakuin turned away as it crashed, not having much of a stomach for seeing the entire ship explode and then burst into flame. The Aerodactyl flew off, most likely back to wherever Kyra was. Taakuin smiled, walking over to the flooding lake. He still needed to stop it and get the water level back to normal.

“Well, it countered the other jewels’ effect. It’ll probably get this back to normal with no trouble at all.” He said, taking out the Sun Bubble. He put it in his hand, and then put his hand in the water. Taakuin sighed, sitting down. It’d take a while for it to get back to normal, it’d most likely be dark by the time it was done. “Well… at least I got everything else sorted out.” He said, looking around. He closed his eyes for a bit, but accidentally fell asleep.

A sudden noise woke him up. He looked at the lake, the water had gotten back to it’s normal level. He put the Sun Bubble back into the plastic baggy, and stood up. He’d dried off, and he was now free to go back to HQ. He still wanted to know what that noise was though. “Hmm… hello? Someone there?” he asked aloud, looking around. He spotted something on the island-cave in the middle of the lake. It was pink, and when it saw Taakuin it quickly floated back into the cave. Curious, Taakuin swam over. He climbed onto the rocks, and peeked inside the cave. He saw a small pink figure floating in the middle of the cave. He quietly made his way into the cave, looking at it. It turned, seeing him. He blinked, very quickly, taking a picture of it. The figure began to glow blue, and in a flash of light, Taakuin found himself outside of HQ, standing there alone.

“….What –was- that thing?..” he said, looking around. “I think it was a Pokemon, but how’d it know I’d want to come here?” he continued, still a bit confused. He decided to ignore it, walking inside to the main room. He’d had plenty of excitement for a while, and plopped down on the couch, letting out a deep breath. “Finally home…”

Objective: Retrieve the Sun Bubble from the golden Gyarados, find out why Lake Verity's being flooded, bring things back to normal and dispose of the Sun Bubble- Complete
Pokemon fought: 7 Gyrados
Pokemon used: Gyrados, Buizel, Sharpedo, Pelipper, Feraligatr

The mission went alright. It turns out that Aquos stole the Sun Bubble and fed it to a Magikarp, causing it to become the Golden Gyrados. Aquos then created a jewel the opposite of the Sun Bubble, it reacts to emotions and causes water to come out. Aquos used the Gyrados as a distraction so they could work on their real plan, flooding Sinnoh. Apperently Jhoto is an unimportant place for them. I managed to get everything solved, and everything turned out good in the end. Kyra was pretty helpful, although I never did see her in Sinnoh…
