OKay I don't know if all the Harry Potter fans have heard of this lady yet or not, but she made Idiot of the year by the Washington Post last December, but this is a mother from Georgia who is trying to ban the Harry Potter books from the schools. She has tried this and failed twice, three times if you count the appeal, and she is still going at it. Some of her outreach protest can be seen here;

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/education/stories/011807dnentpotterprotest.a89cec.html
(And her website dedicated to why the Books promote witchcraft, drug abuse, and school shotings)
http://www.hisvoicetoday.org/index.htm
And this is what my favorite site mugglenet has to say about it (you have to look for the titles with Mallory in them)
http://www.mugglenet.com/search/index.php

But this is just the point, the woman has never read the books and refuses to do so.. Now for your ideas on this.

A lot have tried, few have succeeded, and they are all idiots. Half of them judge the books on what they are about, like "It's about witchcraft and it'll make my childern start doing witchcraft." or "It's all about devil worshipping." Come on people get a life. I mean honestly, try reading the books before we decide to go and ban them.

Her name is enough to make me bang my head against the desk in frustration. stare

If you’re going to argue a point, at least have a basis for an argument!

In all honestly, the original versions of the fairy tales have more witch craft than the Harry Potter books (which are fiction, FICTION!). (I don't know if anyone has read the original version of Cinderella (can't remember the name right now) when her sisters cut off part of their feet etc.).

Obviously, protecting children is important, but protecting them to the point where they can't use their own imagination is ludicrous

My Theories!!!

1. She is obviously a bible thumper
2. She is obviously an extremist with christianity
3. I have a feeling that she was raised in a county where witchcraft is highly believed as real and people their think it is satanic and stuff...
4. She has not read the books
5. She does not know that the books arent real *sniffs* Although I wish they were... well minus Sirius and Dumbledore's deaths
6. She was a deprived, abused child
7. She's insecure about her faith
8. Maybe shes a witch eek and is angry at the way witchcraft is portrayed eek eek eek eek exclaim exclaim exclaim
9. She is a lunatic...
10. She is just jelous cause she cant fly!!!

I know, really, right? The books are about some kid who has a prophecy to fulfil and stuff. And though I did try a few of the spells, none worked for me.

Now, I would understand if she Had read the books, but she hasn't. What's funny is that the theme is that Love conquers all, through good and bad.

She's not bashing A Wrinkle in Time, so why should she bash HP??
