When they were told they looked lovely, Tee gave a little curtsy before she giggled in response to the action. Morwenna grinned when Rosa said she looked awesome and said the dress fit her like a dream. "Cheers, ’tis me mum's weddin' dress, but we’re 'bout th' same size. Only needed a few little tweaks," the currently silver haired girl said with a grin. Tee then frowned when Mea and Rosa said she hadn't seen them yet, but like a summoning charm, the boys arrived. OneN announced that they were late because they were having a snack and they were struggling with their ties. She was going to help Wendel with his when Mea beat her to it. "Silly b'oys, ther' be snacks 'ere!" Tegen exclaimed, but she couldn't keep a grin off her face. Her two best friends were very easily food motivated and could be bribed with sweets, Tee had already learned that. When Bryn complimented her necklace, Tegen smiled and said, "Cheers, Bryn, I do greatly appreshate that, I do!" A slight blush colored her cheeks and she curtsied to Bryn.
Looking out at the dance floor, Tegen spun around, her dress twirling around her as she imagined herself out there dancing. "Bryn, d'ye fancy dancin' with me? I do be wantin' to go out an' dance right proper!" While Tegen wanted to dance with both of her friends, she'd opted first for Bryn since he was most likely to disappear early and she didn't want to miss that opportunity. Wendel was more likely to stay and party it up, but she knew Bryn got overwhelmed too easily. She held out her hand to him, hoping that he'd accepted her invitation to dance, since she so desperately wanted to get out and party it up. This was the first time she'd been to a party like this that didn't involve her family or townsfolk from her very small village, and by gosh, she wanted to have fun.

Olivia spotted Roxie making her way towards her over by the snack table and the brunette had to stop ruminating about her lack of a date. Her eyes drifted over Roxanne's outfit and Liv smirked. It was a dress that Roxanne definitely pulled off and Liv thought she looked really good in it. When Roxie complimented her, Liv gave her a little twirl, letting her see the whole dress in action. Olivia smiled and said, "And look at you! Damn girl, you're on fire. In another life, we'd be a hot item." Liv winked at Roxie, then shook her head when asked about Jo or Flick. She reached over and grabbed a couple macaroons, one for herself and one for Roxie. "I haven't seen them yet, but I definitely remember telling them to meet us down here. I even wrote it on my hand to remind them before I did." She munched on the snack, making sure no crumbs stayed on her. Continuing to scan the partygoers, Liv finally spotted Jo making her way in, tapping her best friend on the arm. Olivia smirked when Jo said her outfit was colorful, the brunette doing another little twirl. Okay, maybe she really loved this dress. "Thanks. I love your outfit too. You look like you're about to deny killing your husband to the police. Except you totally did." Liv grinned widely, putting her finger up to her red lips.

Hattie accepted when her best friend offered their hands, though she didn't really need them at the current moment. Hattie had made it all the way from the Hufflepuff dorms without tripping or slipping once, plus she hadn't knocked into anything or fallen down any stairs. That was, like, a record for her. Letting out a little laugh, Hattie said, "This kin surprise ye, bit a'm actually less haunless wi' heels oan than mah wellies. Thay juist hurt lik' th' dickens efter a while sae ah cannae wear thaim a' th' time." Hattie went to push up her glasses, since it felt like they were slipping down her nose and accidentally poked herself in the forehead. "Dang, ah forgot ah wasn't sportin' mah glasses," she said, rubbing the spot on the bridge of her nose where she'd just stabbed herself. "That's how come ah dinnae wear contacts gey often. An' a' fur it steals lik' twa hours tae pat thaim in," she added with a little grumble. Hattie reached out to grab a snack and happily munched on it, still holding one of Jazzy's hands in her own.

Pretty much as soon as they got into the Great Hall, Wendel felt a little overwhelmed. It was weird that he could handle the Great Hall during big dinners or the stands outside the pitch during a full match, but something about this was making him feel overboard. Thankfully he could be with his family, which did serve to make things a little easier. If anyone could keep the upsetting emotions at bay, it was Rosa. He subtly stepped closer to his big sister, feeling a little awkward. The Abrams family wasn't exactly a formal dance sort of family... unless Papa Milo had his way with plans, of course. He would love to be always fancy.
He chuckled a bit when Rosa squealed and Bryn glared at her. There it was. That was very much accurate for their family. "Everyone's real fancy, but also Rosa's dress is real nice too." Sure, he thought Morwenna and also Tegen were super pretty, but he wanted to make sure his sister knew she was pretty too! But at least she didn't want to pinch his cheeks. "I think we should also comment on our dapper little lads too." Mea said, a little frown as he fiddled with his ears.
From what Wen understood, his cousin had been having issues with his ears. He wasn't really sure what the issue was, but he wasn't an ear-ologist either. When Tee asked Bryn for a dance, Wen grinned. That was sweet. "Rosa, we should go dance too! Can't let them go alone." He pushed a cookie in his mouth, offering a hand toward his sister. "I suppose that leaves us, Wenna. Would you like to dance?" Mea added, smiling over at his friend. It was a perfect set of pairs! Voila!

🍎🧀🍊🍍Bryn really hadn't wanted to go to the ball party thing, like really really didn't want to. Even the promise of good food couldn't make him budge and he'd been fully intent on putting on some nice clothing for a family photo then immediately changing into his comfiest hoodie and spending the night reading with Carmine. However, these plans changed when his sister Rey had asked for just one dance before he disappeared and...he didn't like disappointing her. So he agreed. Then Tegan asked for one and while he knew she wouldn't be too upset if he'd declined, she was one of his few not-family friends and she never treated Chabbit badly, so he agreed. Of course, Rosa then heard about his dance card and begged for one as well, but he thinks he can duck her and hide long enough for her to forget.
Either way, it meant that Bryn now had to get dressed in fancy clothing alongside Wen and both preparing themselves for whatever. He had pouted at having to wear a bowtie but at least he didn't have to wear stuffy shoes as well. Way too soon-forhim-he and Wen went down to the Great Hall and after a bit of looking, found Mea, Rosa, and even Tegan and her sister at the snack tables. Before he could blink, his brother was there tending to his loopy tie which he just gave a soft sigh at before focusing on the others. Bryn gave a small grin that his compliment had made Tegan so happy even if he had to deal with Rosa's Rosa-ness. He wasn't too sure what kind of weird bow she gave so he just tried to copy it best he could with a slight blush. As he was attempting to dodge his older cousin's wandering fingers he was met with his first request for a dance.
Before he could answer, Wen then exclaimed that he and Rosa could go dance and then Mea was asking Morwenna. It was a bit fast (he had hoped to at least enjoy two nice plates of sweets before dealing with dancing) but this also meant the sooner he was done with his dances, the sooner he could disappear. So, he offered his friend a small nod and grin as he took her hand and followed the others to the dance floor. Bryn wasn't too sure how he was going to do this, he'd never really danced before, Rosa's sudden laughter caused him to glance over at her. "Don't worry too much, Brynnie! Just watch your feet and move to the beat." He squinted a bit at her, not knowing if she'd rhymed on purpose or not (he really wouldn't put it past her) but nodded his thanks all the same. "Um, where do you want my hands?" he asked Tegan quietly.

Her little sister asked Bryn to dance, which followed Wendel asking his sister for a dance as well. Meallan then asked Wenn for a dance, which led to her curtsying. "I do accept, lead on then, me loveliest," Wenn replied, offering her hand out to Mea for their dance. She didn't know any fancy dances, but Morwenna was great at moving along with the beat. Besides, no one here was going to judge her for her dancing skills. Letting Mea lead her out to the dance floor, she placed her other hand upon his shoulder. Ocean blue eyes looked at him, a small smile forming on her lips. Meallan was one of her best friends, and the teen may have harbored a little crush on him at one point or another. He was one of the few people who didn't think she was terribly weird, despite all the weird things about her. He just seemed to roll with her weirdness, though he did express concern for her whenever she went out in the snow barefoot. "After ye."

Tegen could tell there was a moment of hesitation in Bryn when she asked him for a dance, but then Wendel was quick to ask Rosa for a dance and Meallan asked Wenn for a dance. Bryn gave her a timid nod, then took her hand to lead her to the dance floor. "Dun't fret, I'll see t'it we git some nibbles afterwud," Tee whispered to Bryn, giving him a little grin. The brunette turned towards Rosa as she gave Bryn some advice on dancing, then her gaze shifted back to Bryn when he asked her where she wanted his hands. She'd only ever really dances at townsfolk weddings and the harvest festivals, but she didn't think this was a harvest festival kind of dance. "Um, 'ere, give this 'ere position a go," she said, taking one of his hands and placing it at the small of her back. Then she took his other hand in hers and held it aloft. Placing her hand on his shoulder, she smiled at him then said, "Alrighty, just follow me steps, right? I'll be slow, don' cha worry." She started to dance slowly, letting Bryn follow her pace.
Clara was a bit slow coming to the ball. Both of her sisters had dates so they’d made sure they were nice and early to meet them. Plus, Charlotte clearly didn’t want to take her eyes off the ball any longer than she had to. As for Clara, she wasn’t overly concerned. She figured she’d meet some of her friends, but mostly she just wanted to see the final product of what Charlotte had been obsessively working on since the summer. With all the flowers she’d seen coming to and fro it had to be pretty spectacular. And as she walked into the Great Hall she quickly realized it was. Thank goodness she didn’t really have allergies to pollen. Or bees for that matter. There had to be at least one or two lurking in all of this. She could just imagine one buzzing around her flower crown.
After admiring the Great Hall for several moments, she moved over to the treat table, which she was completely thrilled about. There were some cheesecake bites that were absolutely calling her name. She also picked up a few of the tea sandwiches and a glass of punch. If she was only here for the snacks, it was a day well spent.
Persephone felt her heart practically stop as Adi took her hands in his. She listened closely to his words, her face breaking out into a smile as she did. However, she couldn’t help but laugh as he finished. She honestly wasn’t sure if she was laughing at his words or how they made her feel. She had to admit, it was sort of silly, but she liked it. And it definitely made her feel good. “Well, just don’t tell that to Aphrodite,” she joked, beaming at him. She knew Greek mythology well enough to know that it was a bad idea.“But thank you,” she said with a slight spin, “I do feel pretty magical in all this.” She ran her hand across the smooth fabric of her dress. Once she had sufficiently admired herself, she took another step toward him. "I'd love to dance," she said, sparing a glance toward the dancefloor behind her. "If you're feeling up to it, of course," she added, looking back at him. She was obviously aware that sometimes moving around wasn't the easiest thing for him, so she just wanted to be sure he was completely comfortable before they decided anything. He seemed to be alright at the moment, though, so that was probably a good sign.

Tsia was happy to walk beside Benji as they headed over to get snacks. They were holding hands, but Tsia was pretty used to doing that with family and friends that she didn't really think twice about it. Her eyes went wide when she saw the delightful array of snacks. "There's so many! I kinda want to try them all!" She accepted the plate, grinning over at her friend. She noticed her aunt eating one of the fancy cookies, so Tsia lifted one to taste. It was pretty good!
He said he liked chocolates, but he couldn't eat nuts. "I'll make sure to remember that. I don't want to send you to the hospital. Ooh, here, chocolate-dipped madeline cookies! They're French, I think?" She worked with Benji to figure out a few fancy treats to try. Thankfully they all had little cards in front of them, fancy cursive handwriting listing ingredients.
When Benji asked if she'd like to dance after their little treats, Tsia smiled and nodded. "I would love to dance! I'm probably not the best, but it's all about having fun, right?" She grinned, tasting one of the cookies and just feeling happy. All in all, it was just a beautiful day!
Jo put on the most evil smile she could muster at Liv’s words, gently brushing her blonde hair from her face. “I just don’t know how that poison got into the martini,” she said in a soft, overly dramatic voice, “I’m sure it must’ve been that butler.” She then gave a tiny pout before erupting into laughter. She then ran her hands over her body, smoothing her dress. “I have to admit. It feels pretty good. Maybe I should start a new fashion trend. Old Hollywood goth. Like the Black Dahlia.”She thought for another second. “It’d be an interesting take for a drummer.” Most she’d seen were sort of wild dresser, which she was also into, but maybe she could shake it up per performance.
“So,” Jo started again, “found any men we can lure to their deaths with our siren song? Or ladies. I don’t know what you’re into,” she said with a shrug and sly smile.
Lily had to admit, she’d been just a touch annoyed no one had asked her on a date to the ball. It wasn’t the big of a deal, and frankly, there weren’t a ton of options for boys around her age, or at least that was what she told herself. After next year, she could graduate and find a man. Eventually. Hopefully. She, however, determined that she wasn’t going to be a grump about it all night. She was here with her best friend, and that was really better than being here on a first date. Much less awkward. Plus, she looked phenomenal, so it was downright rude to waste it all on one man. She shook her head at the thought. Apparently, she was trying to be her own best wing woman.
The sound of Xeno’s voice drew her out of her thoughts, and Lily scanned the dessert table. “Absolutely,” she said, moving over to the snack table. She grabbed a plate and started loading up without much other thought.
