Notes: For Kasamir, failure wasn’t an option, nor was mediocrity, so he has thrown himself into his studies since he was a First Year. In addition to the textbooks from Hogwarts, he also had a sizeable collection of texts from Durmstrang (courtesy of friends and family) to use as reference material, which came especially handy in his DADA and Alchemy classes. Kasamir made a point of taking any extra credit assignments he could get to boost his overall GPA. When not in class, running the two clubs, or practicing for matches, Kasamir would withdraw into monastic seclusion to study, forgoing eating and sleeping on many occasions to squeeze in additional study time. His efforts cost him many hours of sleep and roughly ten pounds of weight, but the results were justified.

Notes: It should be noted that Kasamir’s course of study was always tailored towards being a Witch Hunter, like his aunt, though it has since been steered to be part of the Ministry’s Prosecution Office; however, he retained his choice of courses to ensure he had career options after graduation. For Kas, failure is not only not an option, but unthinkable, and he has the standards set by his father and his family elders to meet. As such, and taking cues from his friend, Csuri Narain, he approached study with an attitude bordering on the fanatical. He studied in almost monastic seclusion, appearing when prior commitments required him to do so, sometimes forgoing food and sleep in order to squeeze every possible bit of time out of what was available to prepare for his NEWTs. Though his efforts cost him many hours of sleep and fifteen pounds of weight, he views the sacrifices made entirely justified.

It should be noted that he posted perfect scores on his Charms, Potions, and Alchemy NEWTs, and beat his boggart through a combination of nerve and determination to ace his Defense NEWT. Certain classes he took to pursue personal interests slipped slightly in his priorities, causing his scores to drop noticeably, while outside school experiences taught him the value of the Wandless technique, causing him to do better in this class. With Wizard Law becoming a more important part of his studies, Kas made sure his casework was solid for this NEWT, and he argued his points logically, efficiently, and with more than a little bit of ruthlessness.
