iMuffinator Finally a place for me to scream into the void about my current fixation with diss tracks - hello Kendrick Lamar! I've been scrubbing through Drew Afualo's The Comment Section too. Also I've been heavy in the nostalgia lately so it's been alternative rock / divorced-dad rock, whatever was on the radio in the early-oughts, and some pop-punk stuff. whee!
Please educate me on Divorced Dad Rock?

Kittea iMuffinator Finally a place for me to scream into the void about my current fixation with diss tracks - hello Kendrick Lamar! It's like a meme-y genre name for music that men listen to in the car with their kids or after a break up. Stuff that used to be popular on the radio and nostalgic for them (and me lol). For me it's stuff by like Hinder, Nickleback, Shinedown, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc.
Here's what urban dictionary says about it: Music filled with angst and repetitive grungy choruses, usually popular songs from about 20 years prior, at which point now divorced dads were in their formative teen years. Usually listened to not by choice, but rather the hearer is subjected to it against their will. Including but not limited to Creed, Nickelback, etc.
I think I nailed that! I just think it's a funny term.
