Unfortunately, the only room available for Shingen was the cursed bed in Aella's room. Cursed because Shingen was going to be Aella's 5th roommate since she transferred in earlier that March. He would have easily found out all the rumors around it if he stopped to talk to anyone on the way, but the poor guy was walking in blind, completely unprepared for the trainwreck that was Aella. There was a reason Mephitis called her a trash panda. Aella was a veritable hot mess and that reflected the state of the room.
Upon entering, he would find there really was no room for him. While there wasn't any food or trash wrappers (Aella was pretty strict on not bringing that stuff in the room), that was the only consolation. Clothes were strewn everywhere. His bed was covered in clean clothes that had been washed and then dumped for her to rummage around in. The floor had miscellaneous things all over the place, including a minefield of stiletto pumps just waiting to trip him. There were also papers, books, and anything remotely school related on the floor. His roommates bed wasn't made, blankets tangled and half falling off. He'd notice that both of his pillows were missing, having been stolen and now existed in the pillow graveyard that was her bed.
And then there was his roommate. He would have expected her to be in class or spending their recess/morning break chatting with friends or getting something from a vending machine, but no. Poor Shingen would be greeted by the sight of a heart shaped bum a** up in the air, black lace trim peeking out from under her school girls skirt. Who his new roommate was would still be a mystery though, because the who front half of her body was wedged under the bed frame that was to be his bed going forward.

Sometime after the museum outbreak, Shingen was finally released from the hospital. After endless tests and being under the microscope, there hadn’t been any traces of the curse that had overtaken the museum. His supervisor had threatened with taking him off assignment after the way he had handled the situation and compared him to the very threats they were meant to stop. His true assignment was off to a terrible start and what was more, he had to tap into something off limits, likely taking time off the back end of his life. Laden with expectations and obligations, Shingen looked forward to forgetting everything by diving into student life.
Managing to condense nearly everything he owned in a medium sized cardboard box, Shingen made his way down the parking lot to his dormitory building. There were students walking about the campus and loitering around like they had nothing better to do, something Shingen already envied. Travelling up the stairs to the second floor, he walked down the hallway until he found his number and let himself in with his new key. The place wasn’t bad. Shingen had to stay in barracks and shared housing for extended periods of time so communal living wasn’t new to him. Although the caliber of individual was most likely the largest difference.
Walking across the common room with the couches and counter, he found his room and let himself in. Sure, he could have knocked but it was his room too now, right? The door opened but that was all. Shingen stood frozen at what was laid out before him. A mixture of bewilderment, judgement and dread hit him all at once as he slowly scanned the room. It had looked like he walked into a toddler’s room who had just thrown a tantrum. There was no method to the chaos that was the lay out of the room. Two beds sat on opposing sides of the room, both covered with clothing that was undoubtedly dirty sitting on dirty sheets on likely dirtier mattresses.
Shingen became more and more perturbed as he realized the diversity of clutter on the floor. Shoes, books, paperwork and everything else. What was more, his roommate was still asleep well into the mid morning. Shingen could only make out one thing in the larger of the two bed mountains which only made things worse. Though well shaped and draped, a female’s rear greeted him, thrusting upon him the confusion of realizing he was now bunked with a slob of a woman who he could not simply threaten and intimidate into getting things in order.
Clearing his throat, he hoped he could stir her from her assumed drunken stupor in order for her to clear his space. When she did not move, the vein in his head only grew larger. The one thing I thought I could do was relax. Why did I think I would get that? WHY?! After a moment longer, he simply dropped his box right where he stood, causing a substantial clap and rattle. He was half temped to toss her mattress over with her in it.

Almost... there... Her fingertips were brushing the corner of the book that had somehow slid all the way up to the wall and was just barely out of reach. She could finger the very tip of it, stretching as long as she could to squeeze her upper body under the bedframe, but all she could manage to do was fiddle with the corner. Her math teacher told her she was getting detention if she asked someone to share with her again and of course she waited up until it was almost time for math to actually go looking for the book, only to find it out of reach. This was perhaps the one time she actually wished for smaller breasts and not larger.
The sound of someone clearing their throat alerted Aella to the fact that she was no longer alone in her room. The sudden realization caused her body to jerk, smacking the back of her head up against the wooden support slats under her roommates mattress. He's see the half covered bum shift before hearing a thunk and a groan. Aella pressed her forehead to the floor so she there was enough room to rub away the small pop of pain blossoming at the back of her skull. Meanwhile, her half covered and half exposed bum squirmed from the unexpected pain. After rubbing the initial sting away for a few moments, she slowly wriggled her way out backwards to greet the intruder.
Shingen would come to realize that the girl was dressed in her school uniform, meaning it was unlikely she had been sleeping in such a position. A large, wild mane of loose raven curls popped up in a flipping spray that could have been an ad for a hair commercial if not for the tangled chaos that her under the bed excursion had resulted in. "If you came to laugh at me Meph-" Aella paused when she realized it wasn't her neighbor. Then she recognized him, brows furrowing in together and her lips curling down at the edged. "Why are you here?"

After a moment or so, Shingen realized that the girl had actually not been sleeping but rather planted herself onto her bed looking for something. Staring her down, it was clear to see the mess of a head she kept, curls spilling over the place very much like her room. Disheveled was the word that came to mind. When her face finally broke the surface, Shingen nearly fell over in shock. ”YOU?!” Shingen tore his gaze away and closed his eyes as he took his box to his bed, attempting to ignore the fact that he had been so dumbstruck.
Setting the box down on the bed, he kept his back to her. ”I’m moving in.” He didn’t really move or let go of the box, trying to come to terms with what he was getting into. Is this someone’s idea of a sick joke? I get it, pick on the rookie. Make him go through hell, he is the junior after all... Shingen would stew on it all, getting visibly frustrated although he wouldn’t move from where he stood.

Aella snickered a little at the fact that he was a student. Finally, someone worse at school than she was! Silently she was guessing at how many times he had to repeat his senior year. two? Maybe three? He didn't look *that* much older. Maybe it was because he'd been so put together at the museum that she got the impression he was more of an adult. Ew, was he trying to have a serious conversation with her? Gross. Pass. Aella didn't do serious. For now she kept her musings to herself since she actually wasn't trying to make fun of him or ostracize him in any way and actually decided to be helpful. "I guess." Was the unhelpful response she gave him, leaving him no openings to comfortably continue on his topic of choice. Still, she wasn't trying to be a b***h.
Since he put the box of stuff down on the bed to start unpacking, she figured she should get all of her crap off it. So she bent over and used one arm to sweep the pile of clean clothes off the top of it and onto the floor, then began scooching everything over to her side so the floor looked like it was made out of crap. There wasn't even much floor left, save for the little strip of walking space next to his bed a foot or so wide. That was 'his' side. In the distance, Aella could hear the bell ringing.
"CRAP!" She still hadn't gotten her book! <********> She crouched down and looked at the book under his bed. "Hey, does your window tunnel thing work on beds cause I can't reach my book down there..." Please say yes.

As Shingen continued to unpack his things, he could tell she didn’t want to talk about what happened. He wasn’t pushy in that sense and actually preferred to move from it himself. She had begun to remove her property from the bed, letting it all fall to the floor. Shingen sighed at the sound, still not able to wrap his head around the housing situation. The best he could come up with was that she had been homeless and didn’t quite know how to upkeep her own space. Either that or she was one of those messy geniuses. Hearing her frustration with the school bell ring, he figured that she was now late. Not too much of a surprise.
It seemed she had been looking for something when he had come in. A textbook most likely. Turning to her, he crossed his arms and leaned back on the bed. He closed his eyes and sighed before pointing his finger towards her side of the room, pushing out a box barrier under his bed from the wall to the edge of the frame, scooting everything under it, out. He didn’t quite want to see what had come to surface and was already wishing he had brought more disinfectant wipes.
“You might want to hurry.” He said in a hushed tone. Shingen was ready to erect an entire barrier around his side of the room once she had left in order to keep the mess, and the rodents out. He didn't have any classes that day but he was already scheduled to begin the very next day.
