Either Sivu was really good at guessing - or maybe! Just maybe! Haitanth had been talking to Quinineth. The clever little blue and Sivu put their heads together to figure out their goodfriend’s Nameday. It was a tricky thing to put together, considering how little she spoke of such personal matters. He bit his lip, hopefully it wouldn’t back fire. All he wanted to do something was something kind for someone who had been a good friend to him.

With Haitanth’s thoughtful input of the recipe and a bit of creative trading for the ingredients, Sivu had cobbled together a cake sticky with honey. The batter had tasted lovely out of the bowl, and it looked like a proper treat to share with friends. It was sitting on a pretty little plate If Butter, his little flitter had done her job properly Shoxiel would know that today was THE DAY. And Etansi would know to meet them quite soon for something very important.

Sivu clapped his hands in delight at his own handiwork, too excited to contain himself. Haitanth echoed his delight with a happy croon of his own. That looks properly iced, and very classy darling. Haitanth regarded the cake with a delighted eye. Quinineth will be quite impressed! His blue dragon looked beaming with pride. If they don't eat it I certainly will.

It was that time of year once more and Etansi, true to form, was grumpy as could be just thinking about it. She hadn't been able to see her brother in well over a month to even talk about the fact that they were aging up slightly, eighteen turns around Pern when she hadn't once believed that they would even make it ten. Or fifteen. But then she hadn't believed that one day they'd both be dragonriders fighting thread.

Quinineth sat politely by her feet, his eyes closed as he waited patiently for her to get ready and on about it. He'd told her that they'd somewhere to be and if the emotions he could almost physically feel coming from Haitanth were any indication they should be moving and now. We should high step it dearest, the request is timed and you wouldn't wish for either of us to be in trouble would you?

Trouble was the one thing she couldn't afford to be in with Liat as her new Master, she certainly didn't want to step out of line and be reprimanded for something she still wasn't fully told about. Which was... odd. Typically Quinineth shared everything with her but the 'important request' was as vague as possible, though she'd no reason to doubt him. Getting out of bed on her, admittedly assumed, Nameday was always an effort but for duty above all, or so the white would put it.

It was, of course, a surprise to her straight down to her bones then that what awaited her wasn't a chore or request but what appeared to be a PARTY. "S-SIVU!" Etansi stuttered out and her dark eyes were wide as she peered at the cake and then at her friend and his vivacious blue all while Quinineth fairly trumpeted with amusement. "How did you even find OUT?" At this she glared down at her dragon, knowing full well who had tipped over that particular mug of Klah on her behalf. Her face darkened and she tried to hide it in embarrassment, never having had much other than a small present exchange with Erastan on this day before, a full cake was much more than she'd ever have expected!
