[NPC] Bronze Hinokith

There!

In the moments it had taken Hinokith to right himself in the air, Khamaith had begun her final climb. Up she had gone, through the clouds to let the starts of Pern shine down on her gleaming golden hide. His eyes whirled as he beat his wings - finally, finally showing Khamaith what he could truly do. He was not at the front of the pack of her suitors by any means, but Hinokith was making a remarkable recovery in that moment.

From lagging all the way at the very back to the back of the middle he climbed, using the strength of his flight muscles and the stamina he hadn't utilized until this very moment to chase Khamaith up through the clouds, water droplets clinging to his hide as he burst above them on the tail of the leaders of the pack.

Oh, Khamaith. I know I've been a terrible dance partner tonight. But is it wrong for someone like me to dream to sire a clutch for you? I would understand if you chose someone else, of course. But I would so love to be a father someday.

It was his last chance to prove himself, and Hinokith would happily snatch it up. He had no desire to show off with any fancy flying maneuvers - he'd shown her poor enough flying already. But he could show Khamaith his strength in these final moments. He would be there to catch her, if she somehow decided he was the best suitor, despite all the odds against him. And he would douse her in his devotion just as surely as the rain had doused her hide this night.

Hinokith is unmistakably large, both in terms of length and sheer bulk. He is powerfully built with a broad chest and enormous wingspan, but suffers a bit in speed and maneuverability due to his sheer size. In spite of his musculature, he has a particularly long head and neck crowned with elegant head knobs, matched by an equally long tail.
Positive Traits: Cheerful, loving, optimistic, loyal.
Negative Traits: Dramatic, oblivious, impulsive, headstrong.

T'bir is 32, prefers men, and is going to be staying in his weyr to stew in his lust alone. Don't expect to see him wandering the Weyr!
Positive Traits: Pragmatic, fiercely loyal, quick-thinking, composed.
Negative Traits: Quick-tempered, slow to trust, prideful, stern.

[NPC] Z'ost of brown Fusoroth

The wind picked up, and Fusoroth pulled at the air with his wings. He shifted his focus to not having his bulk blown around or into another dragon, as he climbed into the air after Khamaith. He could feel his hearts beating, his blood thrumming through his veins. The rain soothed him, though, just enough, and his eyes continued to whirl in violets, blues, and greens as he continued to chase. He wasn't first, no, but he also wasn't last, was he? It wasn't those, in the end, though, that pushed him on. It was the enjoyment of the chase, as he pursued the young queen. Who so ever catches you, Khamaith, they will truly be a lucky dragon to be in your close company even for a short time!

Brown Kelilayth of Vesin

About Kelilayth: Kelilayth is a good compliment to his rider. Unlike his rider, he’s good at thinking on his feet and making snap decisions. He’s more likely to choose the first decision that seems the best than try to figure out the absolute best. He has no worries and is sure that everything will work out in due time if he does make the wrong decision. He always has a cheery outlook on things and may not seem completely serious in his off time, but if pressed by Vesin he can flip the switch if needed. A downside to Keli being carefree is he isn’t always mindful of the things he says. He often has a “matter of fact” tone and will always tell the truth if asked. He says what’s on his mind and doesn’t always understand why someone would be mad at him.

About Vesin:
Ambitious, Reliable, Analytical, Reasonable || Curious, Romantically naive, indecisive,
(Might be up for some post flight action but I might want to plot it, so if anyone wants some romance plots with a clueless girl hmu XD)

Brown Kelilayth of Vesin

Kelilayth sent her a mental version of a nod. He knew of her choice of weyrmate and understood this had to be difficult for her in a way. Duty over love every so often in her life. It was the life of a gold, though, and he couldn't say he envied her for it. It was time for the climb however. Using as powerful wingstrokes as he could, yet keeping some energy in reserve, he tried to catch up to her. Keli was so close he felt as if he could reach his neck out just a little more he'd be able to n** her tail, though he knew that wouldn't be appreciated. Almost there....he told himself.

Hearts pounding fiercely, every breath was a struggle against the burn in her lungs, her wings protesting every harsh strike of the air. The cries and pleas, encouragement and reassuring words all alike made her hearts ache with choice. Khamaith was a proud dragon of Western Weyr, and though she wished she could have chosen them all to fly with her, there is a small, infinitesimal part that would have traded everything for the one whom her hearts cried and ached for. But that was not her duty, and she had not come so far to rebel against her nature -- now or ever more. Not with such a stunning gathering dragons who had chased her, had made her first dance in the sky all the more a delight.

Yet her hearts are radiant in love, of the coming months of her first dip into motherhood. She reached for Baihath, washing her Darling in a shimmering wave of love. Bright and sweet, wanting nothing more than games and naps in the coming sunlight. She had her duties, but her hearts were always second in line.

It had come time to choose, and as her wings threatened to give, her choice finally clicked within her. It was close, and though she may have been swooned and swayed by such sweet browns--like the fair, respectful Thespeth who she knew her children would be in such safe claws--such a fair and sweet bronze had finally won her over. Though the demon’s plight had called to her, swayed her close to calling Illiandinth to a duty only fitting of two short bloodlines needing to carry out, her mind had been on an experienced father. But she is a gold of Pern, and perhaps should these paths cross once more, there might be a different outcome.

Yet she crooned soft, sweet and soft, betraying how exhausted the young queen was, even as her wings failed to keep her so high. You are here, sweetest Turoth, and I am certain they will have the best. I need you -- catch me. Perhaps for the first time that night, her voice almost crept into uncertain territory, yet her mind had been made solidly on the bronze. As sweet and kind as he had been, as safe as she felt as she swerved toward him. Khamaith reached for him, for she would need to be caught, but she had made her decision.

Congrats Turoth ;3 Go get that lady.

I want to thank everyone who entered, and made this flight an absolute blast to run -- as well as being flexible with this bumped up end to it all on my account. <3 Making a decision was hard for Khamaith, and all these amazing boys never made it any easier -- in the best way LOL.

Thank you all so much for participating!

Keeping pace with the ever rising gold was exhausting but Turoth kept on, watching as Khamaith's ascent eventually slowed, her wings beating but no longer pushing her upward. This was it, and for a moment Khamaith hung suspended in the sky, no longer rising but not yet falling. Turoth seemed to hold his breath as he and the other chasers waited, and waited-

Time seemed to stand still as the queen's gentle, exhausted, and somewhat uncertain voice rang in his head, his hearts filling with pride. She'd chosen him among all the dragons that had given chase and it was towards him that she'd angled herself as she began to fall. He beat his wings hard twice more to meet her, reaching out with gentle yet strong claws to catch her.

You shall have me, Khamaith. I am here for your every need. He caught the young queen with ease, letting his wings finally rest as they began their fall, curling himself around Khamaith to hold her close. He understood her uncertainty - this was her first flight, her first time being a mother - and he would guide her through it with his own experience from Turns gone by. He knew she would be a wonderful mother without his help but he was happy to have been chosen to help her.

Their twining, falling dance was obscured by the storm a few moments after Turoth caught her, but the dragons and the people of Western Weyr didn't need to see the plummet to know the queen had chosen her sire.

---

Back in his weyr, Ar'ad pulled the pillow he'd placed over his head off as he laughed, feeling Turoth's surge of pride and happiness like a tidal wave. Good old Turoth, he thought to himself as he grinned in the darkness. He was sure he'd have a very delighted dragon on his hands for the foreseeable future.
