Oak had been fretting over all the things he had to put his mind on helping the Crows out with since arriving with them. He was a tired boy, so when a weird chicken-footed deer came bounding in front of him he began to blink rapidly at first. It would be a lie if he said the creature wasn't beautiful but it was definitely confusing as well.

What an interesting land!

1. You tripped over a root! Your head smashed into the side of the tree. Ouch!

By now Russet would need to recoup before he ever convinced himself he was worthy of stepping foot back into this glorious nightmare induced joyride. His son had eaten fruit that was pretty much a stomach inducing poison. There was danger lurking pretty much everywhere it seemed. Sneezing in disgust as another sprig of mint lay carefully on his tongue, he began heading back the way they had found themselves there. The small crow had made them a trail when they weren't even paying attention.

This he was thankful for.

Everything seemed to be fine until he saw the most beautiful flowers from where they were walking. It seemed nestled back in further to the woods/ Fox had picked up the crystal but it was rather small. Taking a small risk he didn't announce his intentions. That became quite clear as he headed toward the patch with the dazzling flowers. Headfirst he went downward right into the side of a tree. A yelp followed by a whimper left him dazed with a warm trickle where the sharpness of the crystal bark had stuck through his fur.

The mint was helping his headaches just fine till he fell into bad luck because of a flower. now he felt as Foolish as his son as the demon grasped his skull like a vice grip.

"Ugh...I wasn't expecting that" he groaned clenching his eyes shut.

Hidden Fox saw it play out in slow motion when his father became injured by the vileness of a root he hadn't seen. Swearing to himself how this place was out to get them he sighed. Now that the glowing fruit had left him, his spirits were back up to par. His attention was clearly on his father now jumping hastily to be by his side.

For a moment he quietly chuckled to himself because the last incident he had hurried into left him leaving rainbow puddles to paint the ground. His father had quickly chosen to avoid caution and ended up butting heads with a tree. Yes, it was amusing but it wasn't super funny. Russet clearly was in a bad way to return back to the pack with his seer blood overtaking his rational thoughts.

Now he wished he was a healer more than a scout.

"I can lead us back to the meeting spot thanks to Light in the Storm making a trail", he nodded leaning against his father, "We need to get going. I haven't a clue what herbs will help dad other than mint".

Being a crow, Light in the Storm was thinking far ahead of the duo of wolves. In fact the moment Russet had taken his dance with the tree, the avian was straight onto his idea. Taking flight he glided over the various bushes, briars, etc till he landed beside the brightly colored flowers. Inspecting them each for vibrancy, disease, or just odd things in general. Finding one that was simply perfection he used his beak to saw through the thick stem setting it free. Eyes beaming he noted full well that the glowing essence still was coursing through the taken flower and stem.

Then he returned to Russet and Fox with his head held high, "Next time just ask me Russet. I had an inkling when you darted after those flowers. My trail should still be easy to follow. I'll keep out for danger along the way". Raising his wings he bowed, "Shall we be heading back my wolves? ".

2. You spot a Jackalope running by with something in their mouth!

The journey had been an eventful one, mostly calm all things considered, but given this was his first excursion outside of the Crow territory since he was a young pup, well, everything was new and exciting. He even found a boulder with a paw print on it somehow marked/drawn/pressed(?) that he couldn't decipher the age of, probably belonging to the strangers whose territory they had skirted through. Were this a smaller expedition, he'd have suggested to go over the lake, but given the size of the group, going round was the wiser bet. They made it to the Veil relatively harm free.

He stared at it, the entrance, for what felt like an eternity, just watching, trying to make sense of what he was seeing.
Finally he entered with many of the others, after all, this is why they'd come here, why they partook in such a journey to begin with and admittedly he was eager to understand more of this other world and possibly bring something back to show his family. Deadlock darted in along with the rest and from there, things escalated.

Several -what felt like days, had it been days now?- days had come and gone exploring this new world. New wonders around every corner.
A flash of movement caught his eye and upon quick investigation he could see what looked like a hare running off in the opposite direction. Except...odd. Not quite right, it looked different somehow, longer limbs and were those antlers? Carrying something. Immediately he pursued, hightailing it after the critter with little regard of who was following and that the group wasn't exactly around him any longer. He gave up the trail after several minutes of not spotting it and nose to the ground detective work over where this creature had disappeared to only to discover no one else around him. Darting this way and that, he jumped strangely colored flora, flying between gnarled trees and bramble, but in the end, he was alone. Deadlock was lost.

"Hello? Uh..."

Bluebeard awaited the group on the day they had chosen, wings ruffling here and there as he counted those who arrived. Some were... missing, and Bluebeard waited long past the time he stated they'd depart, worry pulling on his face. It was only when something felt wrong did he insist the group leave the Veil and wait at Stonehenge for the wolves, and so they did.

They waited for the entire day, anxiously hoping those who had stayed behind would arrive. 24 hours passed, and no wolves arrived. Bluebeard looked around for the strange wolves who had helped them in, only to find them gone. Guilt weighed heavy as he realized the Veil was now inaccessible, and the wolves who had vanished within it might be gone.

Still, he couldn't have kept the entire group within the Veil; then they'd have lost way more Crows. There was nothing to be done, but they said another day. Two days had passed since the Veil closed and the group had to accept the truth -- they were not going to see the lost wolves for now.

It took great convincing to encourage the entire group to head home, but they did. Within a week they were home and the news was delivered to Big Bad. Some wolves returned with various goods. New fruits, glowing mushrooms, pretty rocks. It wasn't enough to soothe their Alpha, who had grown rigid. His worst fear had occurred; they had lost a few members and there was no certainty they'd return.

What this means: Throughout the next few months Big Bad will send Scouts to check Stonehenge for the lost wolves. The wolves trapped within the Veil are; Abyss, Story, Burning Oak (part of Iron Hides), Whitestar, Blackwater Raptor (who ran in without the group on his own mission), and Deadlock.

The wolves are not considered dead, but hope is waning. It is top priority to locate an Ethereal, as the group has reported to Big Bad that a long limbed and strange looking wolf had helped them into the Veil. If they find an Ethereal they might be able to retrieve the lost wolves.

Otherwise, the pack goes on as normal.
