Autumns had been talking to Ponder when Whimsies came back to her den to say she saw Reflection turning towards her mother's home. Ponder considered that the topic would be about the oncoming winter. She had learned to not question her son as he had often questioned himself before he even spoke.
He was much like his father like that, which is what she should have expected having two litters from Reflection. Autumns wasn't allowed to have time without Reflection, she was now surrounded by his children and she mothered them all. She kept his fatherhood quiet between their pups, Reflection and herself although she knew quite well that no one was fooled. Mirror, Replica, Praise and Whimsies all were too Spirit-Touched for another other wolf in the pack to be their father. Instead of staying still and waiting for the Alpha she moved from her den and allowed her small pack of children move around and be by themselves for now. She did however, scold Mirror as she heard him mumble something about not coming back home expecting another litter again.
That scared her, to be honest, to have another litter with Reflection and not understand what it was they had between them. Though she knew his intimacy was something she wished for, as the stress of the new season was on the air. Seeing her breath she knew as she stepped towards Reflection's whereabouts that the snow would start that day. At the thought of the snow she saw a flake land in her thick dark coat. Ponder had pondered correctly, she was proud of the name Reflection chose for their dark son of their second litter. Looking around at the lands as she walked, she took in her surroundings and began to analyse what sorts of changes where happening to the area around them. What sorts of things to tell the Alpha, knowing that the Spirits would be called upon she used the eyes she was told in pup-hood were gifted to her by the Spirits with their long white markings going through them.
As she turned her head she noted Reflection moving towards her home then. Autumns stomped the ground below her paw for a second to check the frost level and then with a nod moved to run the rest of the way towards Reflection to meet up with him, slowing down and skidding a bit to him. When she was almost close enough to practically breath on him she made sure to stop her body from colliding with him again by sitting on her rump quickly. Somewhat more afraid of touching him now than she had been when they took the tumble down the hill together before they had their first litter.
"I still have it on majestic entrances.."She took note to herself, meaning to only say it internally but flustering a bit when it came out, out loud. Nodding her head from her oddly seated position, standing up as she did. "Reflection, I heard you were looking for me?"

Winter was early, at least for an area as far down south as the swamp lands. Reflection could not shake the feeling in his gut that this was going to be a hard season - it was why he needed Autumns' opinions now more than ever. She was the best at interpreting the will of the spirits, and if anyone knew what was in store for the pack it would be her. For once, it was not a matter of Reflection finding an easy excuse to be close to the female, though he did delight at the thought of seeing her again. It was how they ended up with two litters - there was something about her that Reflection could not shake off. He was weak, so incredibly weak when it came to her. Though their first litter had been entirely unplanned, Reflection would shamefully admit that he had made far more excuses to see her again after that.
The second litter was not nearly as much of a surprise to him.
He only saw her out of the corner of his eye as she ran to intercept him. For a moment, he was concerned they would have a repeat of the accident at the shrine. But, miraculously she managed to skid to a stop just in front of him. He could not help the smile that graced his features, and even less so could help the way she chased his worries away with her presence alone. Reflection's mind had been settled on business, but in an instant she had managed to chase that away.
"...Do you now?" he asked with a curious tilt of his head. Reflection took a polite step back as she rose up onto her feet, just to keep her head from knocking against the underside of his chin.
Thankfully, Autumns reminded him that he wasn't there just to see her. "I was," he admitted with a slight nod. "Walk with me." It was Reflection's way of saying he had something to discuss, and while it was meant to be phrased as a request it almost always sounded like an order. He moved to walk past her, and as he did he nudged her shoulder gently with his muzzle. More small actions such as the one he just made had happened since their first litter - moments where Reflection went out of his way to touch her. Rarely was he so bold to do it where others could spy them, but he was admittedly put at ease by Autumns' presence.
He waited until they were far enough away from the heart of the pack to voice his concerns. "Winter is early this season, don't you think? I am... worried to see snow fall so soon, though Whimsies seems to be enjoying it."

His mind momentarily went blank as she leaned in to nuzzle against his cheek, and in those precious seconds of times he forgot his worries and concerns. After having stepped into his role as Alpha, the times where he could relax and be himself were few and far between. Almost always they were spent within the company of Autumns and their children, though rarely both at the same time. They had kept their dalliances discreet, as if that would make it less taboo for an Alpha who preached about their numbers being too great. Reflection was fully aware of how hypocritical it was that he indulged in his time with Autumns, but he was a young still. He had many years ahead of him to practice discipline and good judgment.
"Ah, I was hoping that you wouldn't say that," Reflection replied with a small frown. He had expected as much, but having Autumns' confirm winter's presence was disheartening all the same. He was glad to be away from the pack, so that the news would not hit them just yet.
The white wolf stopped in the middle of a clearing - a rarity within the swamp. Normally the ground was covered with some amount of foliage or dead trees. Here, the swamp seemed to enclose the area rather than inhabit it. It was here that Reflection decided to settle, sitting down and fixing his sharp green eyes on the spirit-touched beside him. She, as well as the spirits, had blessed their children with similar white markings. "Yes, she lives up to the name, though I still don't understand your family's fascination with such long names..." he admitted softly.
"I agree, though, a harsh winter means that the break in weather come springtime will be far worse. There'll surely be more pups by then, so we'll make sure that no one dens too close to the waterways notorious for flooding." He had meant more pups in general, though it certainly could have been taken as a very forward suggestion from Reflection to Autumns. The way he moved past the topic, however, cast doubt upon what meaning could be insinuated from his words.
"Hmm, I am worried about sending them out too far. Scouts have confirmed that the forest is populated by other wolves. The last thing we need is an ill-timed skirmish between our pack and others."
