BastetAmun Kiri and Felisath are here to play!
Kiri had been in a bit of a somber mood. After receiving the letter from K'din about K'ell's death, the girl had found the pain in her heart renewed--though Felisath had been a balm and helped her cope. She had written to K'ell a few times after she'd returned to Western--he'd been her last link to Shinnikan, one who had known a different side of him, one who could have kept his memory alive. Now, there was only K'din and herself--the last of their family line. Her couple of cousins and sole aunt and uncle had all perished during Thread's return. They were the last of them--and now they were world's away. Still, there was nothing to be done about it. It was why she was here, wasn't it? To save others from the fate her family had suffered? To keep Pern alive for future generations? Though it might come at great cost, it was all she could do.
Felisath gave a small croon, reaching over to nose gently at her hand. She said nothing, but sent a wave of love, affection, and strength. The quiet green wasn't going to let her rider down--no matter how scary or frightening things might be, the young green would fight as hard and as fiercely as any fighting dragon would. She would learn how to be swift and capable and she would go where Kiri wished them to go--because she would do anything for Hers, even if that meant doing things she didn't like or didn't want.
The young woman reached over, gently slinging an arm over her dragon's head as they walked together down the beach. She offered a smile, clinging onto the unspoken sentiment. I will remember them, Mine. All of them. Felisath finally spoke, her words laced with dedication and promise. Even though she didn't know Shinnikan, K'ell, Eskharath, or any of the many faces Kiri thought about and kept locked in her heart--she would try for her riders sake.
"Oh Fel," she sighed, fondly, allowing herself to be distracted from that pain to focus, instead, on Hers. She was still just as besotted with her green as she had been since Felisath had trotted over. She was substantially larger now, and growing more everyday, but Kiri still found the green precious. "Ready for a swim?" The green dragon enjoyed the water immensely, and as it was a rest day, they had all afternoon to call their own. With the last days of summer overhead, Kiri wanted to take advantage of the good weather before the rains and storms of winter moved in.
It seemed that they weren't the only ones ready to enjoy the day. Sure enough, out a ways, she could spot the form of what appeared to be one of their fellow weyrlings. Huarwar, if her eyes didn't deceive her. That meant Miershoth had to be somewhere nearby. Setting down the towel she'd brought, and the small knapsack of snacks, the young woman didn't take long to remove her clothes. She'd prepare for some time in the water this day--and though there was a bucket of oil and some brushes, she knew Felisath wasn't ready for a oil down--not yet, at least. Right now it was time for some fun in the water.
Felisath, for her part, suddenly seemed hesitant. Kiri gave a small laugh. "Oh come on now--the ocean's big enough for both them and us. Maybe more will come out and play--it is a nice day." And what dragon didn't like water? "You should at least say hello!" She encouraged, and without waiting for her green, Kiri strode into the shallows, before diving in. Felisath's eyes whirled a bit more yellow-green, but the dragon quickly trotted after. Shyly, she reached out to Miershoth, wherver the green had found herself. Hello Miershoth. I hope you don't mind some company. The green would give her clutchmate a wide berth, wanting to stick close to Kiri. Huarwar was busy swimming--surely, Kiri wouldn't bother him, right?
