Su'aoil sighed as he trekked up a hill, unsure of where he was going but knowing that he wanted to get away from the heat. It was a hot day with few clouds and little wind, which sucked when you were traveling. Even more so when you have a black mane that retained all of that heat. Not for the first time, he was grateful the rest of his fur was fairly light in color, though it did little to cool him off.
Perhaps he'd find some cover over this next ridge. A watering hole would be nice too, he thought with a smack of his mouth. When was the last time he'd stopped to get a drink? Yesterday?
Ugh, it was moment like this where he wished he'd actually settled down somewhere, but he was still young and had the restless urge to wander. Someday, he told himself, but not today.

She had just left the Dawnwalkers, following Arusi and Mlia, hoping to find something more fulfilling in her life.
What she found? A whole lot of nothing. She had last her siblings trail a few days back, and since then, the starry female had been wandering in the rogue lands amongst drying grasses and parched dirt. A sigh escaped her maw, her tail trailing behind her as she trudged on, kicking up dust as she continued forward. Part of her just wanted to turn away, head back to the desert to her mom and dad and other siblings. Yet, she didn't.
The jewels she wore clinked lightly, trekking up a hill. She froze, spotting dark hair against a rather lighter pelt. Another lion out by themselves? Was this was the rogue lands were truly like?

Giving himself a shake as he finally made it over the ridge, he sighed as he spotted nothing but more dry land, no water to be found. At this rate, he'd shrivel up from thirst.
That said, he paused as he noticed a very distinct form not far ahead. The lioness seemed unbothered by the weather, he thought with curiosity, and perhaps a tad bit wary at having noticed him as well. Still, he wasn't an unfriendly lion. On the contrary, he liked to meet new folks.
So with a smile, he called out, a cheerful tone to his voice, "Good day, miss. Out traveling like myself?"
