Pemota had recently met the goddess of Elegance he wasn't sure how he felt about her yet, she seemed nice but it would take time before he could say they were more than just acquaintances. Friendship didn't just click, or at least not always, his relationship with the god of sleep had been easy. He wondered if he had anything in common with Elegance and that was still a question yet to be answered. Then again opposites attracted so they could become good friends someday if they meet again. He moved along through some tall grass, towards an old dusty village, that appeared to have been destroyed by one of the tornados that had struck the rogue lands.

He frowned it was a shame there had been so much pain and destruction lately, he had taken time to go back to haven when the battle had finally ended and found it in ruins as well. It was a shame, so he was back in the mortal world since his homeland was a mess and he was not the god of fixer-uppers. He didn't even know where to start on how to deal with the god of Death being in charge of haven.

The deity had yet to officially return home and essentially reveal that both she and her mortal offspring remained unharmed. Yet throughout their stay within the oasis she had come to observe the machinations of mortals much more closely. She'd been naive many moons ago, unaware that cruelty lay within the hearts of some (but not all) and as a consequence she had found herself embroiled in a tale that she hadn't been prepared for.

...Alas, time had a way of aiding those who were willing to learn.

It was experience that had taught her that regardless of how safe she thought she had been, how shrouded and hidden she had kept her children, there were eyes and ears everywhere. She would have been sighted and she had little doubt that news of her existence and the survival of her children would not be surprising. The whispering shadows would already have return to their source to reveal this much...alas, the deity was more than capable of attending to herself and her now grown children... and she had little qualms about ending a life that challenged her.

In a way, Destati would have been proud of her, yet one might be concerned at her lost innocence.

Ah, but such musings were for another time when she returned to the Al-Siq to reunite with her mortal mate. For now she sought to explore the ruins of the unusual settlements that had been left all but deserted as the heavens had fallen. They were quite unlike anything she had seen in any pride she had explored - certainly, prides were creative in the manner they built their homes but there was something very different about these... Glass, for one, was not something they had the capacity to make.

She hadn't expected to meet any of her own (she hadn't in a while to say the least) but something in the air made her whiskers twitch and her gaze lifted.

Now who might she have in her midst, hm?

Pemota did not have any family mortal or otherwise, he was on his own. He was trying to make friends, so far he had started a friendship with the god of sleep that he rather liked. He hoped he would run into the sleepy god again sometime soon. He hadn't tried his paw again dealing with mortals since his first experience where he met the very angry unfriendly one of the pride land border. Pemota was doing his best to look at life from the side of the watering hole half full and not half empty but his first encounter with a mortal had soured his mood at first and it had taken him some time to regain his happy demeanor.

He was doing his best to learn more about the mortal world, but now he was just exploring, perhaps he would meet a pleasant mortal that he would get along well with and have something in common with. Pemota found a strange hard thing and he looked it over curiously it was a bucket with a number of holes in it from rust but he had never seen anything like it. Since everything else he was familiar with was made of natural things like grasses, reeds, bone. He poked at it with his paw and watched it fall over and break apart. What strange creatures had lived in this village?

She knew another god when she saw one; she may not have socialised with them often but his features and the power that radiated from him (no matter how subtle) were unmistakable. Just like her he was regarding their newly discovered 'world' with curiosity and it would have come at no surprise to her if she'd known he had much the same questions that she did!

What had lived here?

Her lips pursed as she swept towards the deity, he was unimposing and seemed not to give off that 'dangerous' vibe, so she surmised she would most likely be all right if she elected to approach him. That being said, this particular divine beast had been betrayed more than once before and she'd learned from it... she'd flee if she needed to.

"You have no idea what this place is, do you?" she asked curiously. "I thought I might explore it but it's quite unlike anything I've ever seen."

"...At least I know of no pride that might have been able to make these," she admitted. Heck, if a deity couldn't make these things then how could a mortal possibly achieve it?

Pemota's power was still mostly offline nothing that would affect a mortal another god might be able to sense what he was. He did not tend to hide who and what he was in the mortal realm since it wasn't something he thought about often. He was used to being what he was and didn't think heavily on being anything else. He looked up at the sound of a voice and said in answer. "No idea I haven't spent much time in the mortal realm, and might not have at all if it weren't for being kicked out by the battle." He looked around "I've been traveling the rogue lands for a few months now, I must agree this place is very strange." He looked up at the white female goddess and smiled "I am Pemota." He shook his head "I've spent no time with the prides of the many lands, I have only spoken with one mortal so far and they did not like gods at all, seemed the pride land was attacked by a god."

"We do seem quite inclined towards meddling," She clucked her tongue at the news that there may have been a pride subject to the wrath of the divine. She wasn't in favour of such behaviour, but she acknowledged there were several domains that might choose to sow chaos and destruction simply because it made them feel alive; for all intents and purposes it was their sole drive and they had nothing else to define them.

"They have my condolences," she added and shook her head. "But I've seen more than a few prides since I arrived here, I've been rather inclined to explore this world than home," she hazarded a smile. "Actually I would regard this as more of my home than anything else," she admitted. She'd known the heavens had been shut, something had been amiss, but she hadn't actually had the chance to find out why.

Now she knew, there'd been a battle.

"They aren't all bad you know," she offered. "Some are quite loving and kind, very welcoming and willing to embrace those who are new," she paused briefly. "But they are just as unpredictable as us, some are nice and others are not so."

"I'm Arimathras, it's a pleasure."

Pemota laughed "Well I wasn't, I was keeping to myself, till I got kicked out thinking about me me me.. which I suppose is rather pointless." He nodded looking up at the female. "Yes and I felt bad for them as well but I did not attack them, so was rather upset that the mortal was blaming me for the crime." Pemota sighed "I went back to haven when I sensed it was open again, and I wish I hadn't it's a mess the battle left it just about as much a mess if not more then this place."

He smiled "I would suggest it unless something happens I think the mortal world will be more home for the gods then haven for a long time. I'm not planning to go back for a while. Not sure about a place to live here though." He said considering the thought of staying in the mortal world long term. He nodded then said "I'll have to take your word for it till I meet a nice one for myself, met some friendly gods but no friendly mortals so far, well except for Elegance's avian friend." He smiled again "Nice to meet you Arimarthras."

She knew what it was like to be tarred with the same brush as others, in fact it was something she had observed within the Al-Siq as they continued their cycle of madness. Their endless warfare was something she considered pointless, based on myth and each individual's own interpretation of events that happened centuries ago...yet they were just as stubborn as gods and would not be told... at least not for now.

The lioness paused as she considered whether or not she could suggest anywhere that he might enjoy visiting, though the more she dwelled on it, the more she realised that those prides she had deemed safe had all been subject to some turmoil and she wasn't entirely sure if they had recovered from it yet.

"Most coastal tribes are very pleasant," she offered after a moment. "Though I had heard that there were some grievances among them I don't think it is within them to blame an outsider," she admitted. Whether they be Kizi, Bahari, Pirate or otherwise, those prides had always treated her well and whatever dramas they might have had they had always kept it to themselves. Perhaps he would find a friend in them?

"Alternatively there are the smaller ones, but..." She pursed her lips. "Who knows how our chaotic fate affected them?" she sighed.

"But do not think of them too badly, I know for a fact there are good ones... I chose one as my mortal mate." She added. "And I wouldn't do that if they were filled with ill intentions."

Pemota chuckled "Which could have been affected by the gods war, everything could be, perhaps a little positive emotion is in order somewhere and that is where I should go, I suppose it is my job that I haven't been doing till now, and I should get off my tail and start trying to make others happy." He nodded "There really is no telling how far spread the effects are, look at this place, who knows what all has been affected." He shook his head, wondering what the creatures who lived here were like. He smiled "Love is certainly a positive emotion and one I would love to love, but I have never been in love with a god or mortal, perhaps someday. Or well I suppose love can become a negative emotion as well and turn to hate or obsession, always two sides to the same coin."

"Perhaps," Ari smiled, was that what he was born for?

"Maybe you encountered that mortal for a reason, if there's anywhere that might need you, it could very well be there," she mused. Harvest was an odd domain, she was for the most part simply seasonal and expected; rarely did she find that her presence was required. Short of a famine, Harvest very rarely needed to intervene in the affairs of mortals and if she did it wasn't with her gifts.

That being said, if there was ever a time that she could intervene she probably would, she preferred that no one went hungry.

"In the end you may be the one to turn their melancholy around...and once positivity is back hope tends to come with it." She tilted her head to the side and chuckled. "Although you may have to deal with a few unhappy individuals until they begin to acknowledge the bright side."

Pemota smiled and nodded his head perhaps, perhaps and only time would tell what would happen next as he did his best to make the mortal world his home alongside the mortals. "Perhaps you are right, but would they let a god into their borders after what they faced not long ago? I was told that many were hurt or killed there." He nodded thoughtfully "Then again, perhaps if I could get in without them realizing I am a god then perhaps I could quietly bring them positive emotions without taking credit or making waves they don't need." He added thinking on the matter.

"You may find that it depends on who you meet," she shook her head. "Every now and then I find myself flying in to their territories unintentionally and it's...sometimes easier to ask to speak to whoever might be in charge." She pursed her lips. In the end he might very well be asked to leave again, but he might also be asked to stay and help to rebuild what was once lost.

...Eventually, the pride would find its way out of grief.

"All you can do is try and see where it goes from there," she suggested. At least if they said no he would always know that'd he had tried and could do no more. If it wasn't welcomed there then there would be other places that would welcome his influence, he just needed to find them and Ari hadn't been lying when she had said that there were plenty of prides who needed some positivity lately.

In the end, he was an invaluable resource.

Pemota thought about it "I wonder if that would work.. thank you for the suggestion, I hope we will meet again someday." He said with a cheerful smile

"I'd very much like that." Ari returned the smile but elected to move on at this stage. It seemed that Pemota hadn't wanted to stay for too long in these parts and she remained curious as to what these things were, consequently she would be exploring for a bit longer but she was grateful that she may have helped in some small part.

Hopefully they would meet again, and in the end, she'd be delighted to see if he had achieved anything and blessed the lands the way she hoped he might. In the end, this world needed him just as much as he needed them and only time would tell if it opened its heart to him.

...She'd have forced it to if she could; but for now, she'd wait and see.
