Asim'a-ciro adjusted the pelt on his shoulders as he walked towards the den. His and Judeau's outing had been longer than expected, but beneficial for the new god. He had recovered some of his memories, met a few new lions in the storm pride (some he may have become 'quite' acquainted to, and ultimately avenged his former life. The crimson pelt he wore was his prize. It was something he hadn't really expected to come home with, but, it would be a good reminder to those who may have known him.

Ciro smirked as he lifted his eyes to Judeau. "Think they will kill us for being gone so long?" The Raids god asked, shaking his head as the den entrance came into view. Hopefully the girls would still be there, and the boys could just make it up to them later if they were angry.

"We have a good excuse." He tried to reason with himself. If Ngaule was there for his death, she would be happy that the beast was dead...right?

---

Inside the den, Saki was fluffed over the newly hatched chicks. Just after the boys had gone on their outing had she started making a nest and days later, lay the 6 colorful eggs. They had been large in size, which was something that scared the raven. This was her first time, and didn't know what to really expect.

Her purple orbs shifted from her perch to Ngaule near the ground as she shuffled her own self to keep the babies warm. "Do...you think they will be coming back soon?" Saki asked the goddess. She asked the question daily, and always would get the same response. Maybe today would be different.

Judeau sat perched on top of Ciro's head, unwilling (for the present) to touch the stained pelt draped across the god's back. The death of the pale lion had brought him little satisfaction. Odd, he had wished for Kristanf's death many times, had followed Ciro to witness it, but now it only felt...empty, failing to grant the closure he had hoped for.

Or maybe it was that the pelt was still covered with blood, gross.

"They might. I told you we shouldn't have kept them waiting so long."

Oh he was not looking forward to the ear full he was going to get when they returned.

The goddess smiled, standing to her paws to look over the small chicks. The eggs had been a surprise to Ngaule, but a happy one. It was good to see Judeau at last leaving the walls he had hidden behind for so long and the happiness he had once had as a cub returning.

"I am sure they will return soon. Such journeys often taken longer than we think they will."

Green eyes turned toward the outside, her brow furrowed. Despite her words and attempts to hide it from the colorful raven, Ngaule was growing concerned for the boys. They had been gone longer than she'd expected, and knowing Ciro's inclination toward trouble... She shook her head, she would wait a little longer, before she decided to go after them and drag them back herself.

It wasn’t that the pelt was completely covered in blood. Ciro had done well to clean it and dry it in the short time frame he had. He shifted it again, not use to wearing something along his back. The wings held the pelt in place however.

“Well…if we returned sooner I don’t believe we would have this little prize then, would we?” Ciro asked with a smirk. “We could try reversing time, but….I feel the outcome would still be the same.”

The den entrance came into view. “Well, here goes nothing.” He said as he walked into their temporary home.

“We’re back!”

Saki’s eyes glanced at Ngaule as she looked over the chicks. She moved herself so the much larger feline could get a good look. It was obvious who the father had been. Some of the chicks had the same markings of the ruffled up raven, while others matched the purple female.

“I hope so.” In truth, Saki was anxious. What would Judeau’s reaction be once he found out he was now a father. Hopefully it wouldn’t be bad. He would stay to raise them…right? Sure the two hadn’t got along great in the past, but now was different. Since Ciro’s death they had been a little more closer.

Her attention turned towards the den entrance as Ciro wandered in, announcing his presence. A sigh of relief escaped her beak as her beady eyes settled on the perched raven.

“Sure took you two long enough.” She muttered, covering the chicks once more with her body, hiding them from view for the time being.

It's still gross, Ciro, super grows, and Judeau wasn't touching it.

"You mean the throw rug? I could live without it."

Judeau nearly flinched as Ciro stepped into the cave, announcing their return with no reservations whatsoever. Oh dear god, the fluff brain was going to get them both killed! Or worse, they'd both be sleeping on the metaphorical couch for the next week.

"We were a bit....sidetracked."

Ngaule was startled to see Ciro and Judeau suddenly reappear in the den, just as she and Saki had been speaking of them. Well, she supposed she could never accuse Ciro of bad timing.

A smile, the goddess step toward the dark god, brushing her shoulder aganst his in affectionate greeting. She was pleased to see he had returned home, and seemingly none the worse for wear. Perhaps she'd had no reason to worry about him after all. Wait a minute....

"What are you wearing?"

A brow raised with many questions. Ciro had not worn a pelt when they'd left, which meant he had obtained in on their journey. Green eyes narrowed, that hide looked familiar.

"What have you been up to?"

Ciro hummed at the idea of the pelt being used as a throw rug. “Maybe when I get bored of it will it lay on my den floor. But, that also being said, we need to decide if this little place we have established ourselves in will be permanent or not.” It wasn’t that this den was bad. Already Ciro had made some good memories within the walls, however, he wasn’t sure this would be the true home.

He needed to find one though. He had a feeling he would be acquiring a lot of trinkets during his tenure as a god.

Once inside the den, the male smirked, returning the affectionate greeting to the goddess. “Sidetracked. Right.” He grinned lopsidedly, shifting the pelt so it now lay on the ground.

“Well…I think the proper words were…helping a friend?” Judeau, Gwen, hell his former self. Whatever the true answer was, it was evident that Ciro was proud of himself.

Saki glanced towards the raven and his deity friend, huffing from her nest. Usually she would have swooped down to Judeau, but keeping the chicks warm was her priority more than greeting the male. It was clear the pelt on the ground was that of a lion she had seen before.

“And do you feel better about yourself now?” She found herself asking from the nest, causing Ciro to glance towards her. He gave a small nod, the smirk remaining where it was.

“Boys.” She rolled her eyes before glancing at Ngaule. Should she mention the babies yet? No…she could wait a little longer.

Somewhere with more seasons than rain would have been nice.

"I will not apologize for or mourn those who deserve their fate."

The raven's eyes narrowed, an angry huff as he turned, a taloned kick at the pelt as is slid from Ciro's shoulders. That monster had murdered his sister, had thrown his best friend from a cliff, he deserved no less than this fate. Judeau had not struck the final blow, but he had once done so with every intention of ending the pale lion's life, had brought down a curse that surely had led him to this. He would hold no remorse for this end.

Hmph, the pelt looked better there on the floor, Kristanf did make a nice throw rug. He still did not want to touch it though.

Ngaule's eyes narrowed as she looked over the pelt, noting a few marks that she assumed must have been made by raven talons and perhaps the remnant of a wound left by a jagged horn.

"So he is dead?"

There was no judgement in the goddess's gaze, she had after all been fully intent on tearing the hide from that pale beast herself at one point herself, but like Judeau, Ngaule found little satisfaction in his death. She only hoped that Ciro had found some closure in this, or at least some trace of his memories.

"I trust you found what you were looking for?"

Ngaule looked toward the purple raven, a look that asked she not judge the boys too harshly, there was more to the story than she knew.

The god eyed the raven as he kicked the pelt. He shook his head, before turning towards Ngaule. "Yes." He said quietly. "I don't remember everything, but I remember some...enough to know more about my life." He hadn't seen any of his children when visiting the pride, but he was happy to see flashbacks of his time with them.

One day he would return, and he would find them. He had so much to ask.

"There is still more, but...that will come with more time." He had all the time in the world after all, didn't he? He glanced at Saki, just as Ngaule had and grinned.

Another huff from the raven as she dropped the subject. Lions, let alone Gods, were weird. She would not understand, no matter how much she would try.

Finally, deciding Judeau was not going to come see her, the slightly annoyed avian stared at him. "Are you going to come say hello to your children or now?" She asked with a click of her beak, moving herself from the nest, causing a few of the chicks to chirp unhappily.

Judeau shot a look at the raven, a look that most certainly said whatever comment he had intended was one of grumpy snark (what right did she have to judge them!). His mouth opened to speak, but no such comment came, only stunned silence.

"Children?"

What children? What on earth was she going on about, he didn't have any.... The raven's eyes grew wide, his mouth opening and closing again as he failed to find any words to say in that moment. His gaze shifted between Saki, to the next full of chicks, to CIro, to Nga, and back again. Words, mouth, not working.

Ngaule nodded, nudging against the dark god. He was back safe, he had found memories, he seemed....happier, more complete, as if he better understood who he was. She was glad he was finding his path, though at the moment the smile on her maw seemed to indicate she was thinking more that she had missed him and the time they'd spent together. Perhaps they would spend the night together.

It took a great deal of self control not to laugh at Judeau and his reaction to the unexpected news. Not that he should have been surprised, the pair had become increasingly close, even if they did still snark at each other constantly.

"What's wrong Judeau?"

There was no mistaking the chicks in the nest were Judeau and Saki's. Some had her purple colors, others his gray, and then the markings like the small tears, or even a few swirls.

"Mhmm." Saki said with a grin. "Come say hello, don't just stand there."

Ciro blinked. Wait. Children? He glanced at Judeau just as the raven's gazed towards him, before turning towards the nest. There six little chicks nestled, some opening their mouths expecting to be fed, others snoozing.

The god glanced at Ngaule, a smirk on his maw before pushing Judeau slightly. He was probably not going to let the raven god live this down now. "You dog," he chuckled, willing to take any consequence from his words from the disguised deity.

"Yes, go say hello." He smirked. Another turn towards Nga as if to look at her to make sure she wasn't hiding anything. Nodding his head slightly, the male returned to watch the reaction between the two ravens.

Children? What? How? When did this happen? Why was his mouth not working? He was standing there, staring in utter shock, unable to find any words to speak, his mind racing far to quickly to form a coherent thought. Come on Judeau, don't just stand there! What was he supposed to do, what would he say, what--

It was not until he felt Ciro push him that the raven suddenly snapped out of it, his feathers looking very ruffled as he turned to shoot a look at the dark god. A silent huff, his wings spread, fluttered toward Saki and the nest full of tiny little ravens. These were his children?

"They're so fluffy."

His head lowered, nudging at one sleepy little chick with a wing. Fluffy....and adorable. Why hadn't he known about them before he left? Had Saki known?

Nope, words still not working. Only a small smile that he gave Saki as it was beginning to hit him. These were his, theirs.

Oh god...now what?

Ngaule was about to burst out laughing as she watched Judeau, using all of her willpower to keep a straight face. She may have even considered burying her face into Ciro's neck to keep herself from having to bite her tongue. It was not that she was laughing at his expense (as Ciro might have been), she simply found his reaction....adorably lost. She had never seen the gruff raven so flustered.

"They won't bite, Judeau, not yet."

Though Saki might if he didn't snap out of it.

"They will be even fluffier once they are full grown." Saki said, her head rubbing into the grumpy raven's neck as he examined his own children.

"I've been waiting for you to return to see them." If he hadn't come home sooner, Saki was sure to send Ngaule out to look for the boys. But, here they were! The female sighed contently as she stepped back in the nest, ready to provide warmth to her children now that their father had seen them.

Ciro smirked at the look from Judeau, before realization dawned on him. Wait. He could produce children that weren't feline in this form? His head tilted as if to ponder the action before he glanced over to Ngaule.

"We should leave them. We need to get reacquainted anyways," his eyes waggled at the suggestion, turning away from Nga as he left the new father with his little chicks.

Judeau shot a sideways glance at Saki, still very uncertain and lost about this new idea of being a father. He leaned into her, returning the affectionate touch with what almost sounded like a purr.

"They are beautiful, like you."

A quiet sigh, Judeau settled at her side, barely looking toward Ciro and Nga as they moved away. At that moment he was more interested in the purple raven, and the tiny birds he kept trying to peak at in the nest under their mother.

Ngaule smiled at the god, a nod of her head, a last look toward the ravens before she turned to follow Ciro from the cave. She walked behind him for a moment, admiring him before trotting to walk at his side.

"We could use some alone time ourselves."
