Mairëa nodded eagerly at her sisters, glad that Delara had suggested something fun to do. Practicing her hunting skills on her own mother was perfect. She stretched out, butt wiggling in the air, tail waving, as Delara counted down. On "three" the little cub stalked forward and pounced, aiming for the back leg that Delara herself hadn't chosen to attack. She reached out with both paws and wrapped them around her mother's back leg with a growl.
Kayitz hadn't been paying too much mind to the children. She was instead ruminating on how she'd feed them - she needed to find a safe place for them to congregate so she could more easily go off on her own to take down prey. If only their father were around... things always seemed easier with a team, and until the cubs grew old enough to fend for themselves, she had to figure things out herself.
She didn't notice the cubs plotting against her, but she certainly felt it. "Oh!" Kayitz yelped, all of a sudden feeling cubs tackling her. Although they hadn't made quite the impact she was sure they wanted to have, she decided to play along. "Oh no, I've been attacked!" She flailed about before falling dramatically into the ground in a flurry of limbs and fur. She laughed, glad to have these little girls around to keep her spirits up. They really were a blessing from the gods.
