Ah...perhaps the mental picture would have to be enough for him today. He could barely get enough air in as it was, and his old hurts seemed to multiply every second. He liked the image he made now, though—that of a fat, dreary smudge reaching beyond his grasp and falling, falling, falling for it—and as the brown gave up, he sent that thought to His with morbid pleasure.

Will you drink more? he urged E’roe as he started to tilt forward, wings barely unfurled to stop his plummet. I would like that. Just to forget his pain for a little while more. A consolation prize of sorts.

Dhumavath sent the green one last dismal invitation. Should you wish to hide away from the bright world some day, find me. There wasn’t much hope in his tone that she would, but they had had a nice enough conversation. But he supposed the shine would win in the end, even as he fell after one bronze.

Even at West, colors could still matter. Sigh. So it goes.

With each inch he gained Haezeth could feel a subsequent burning in the muscles forcing his wings to gain each one, feel the weariness that was settling in his own chest as his breaths began to come a bit harsher. Nzambith was pushing them all to their limits and he had to marvel at the strength that it took to continue going like that when another green would have fallen. Just straight into the sky endlessly as if she would reach to the very sun burning above them.

Sentiments brushed through his mind, encouragement rather than words and a hope that stoked the fires of his own reserves enough that he issued a roar against his own perceived weakness. First Ansheth, another bronze he'd not figured would let go and then Dhumavath, a most impressive brown who'd won Haezeth's respect for his stamina and drive alone, fell to the wayside. Yet still, Nzambith rose and rose before him and the massive beast followed after her despite his rider's flutterings of concern at the back of his mind. Slowly red threaded into purple as he grew angry at his own protesting muscles, forcing them to comply with his goals despite what his own body was telling him.

Upward, upward and on after the green until his lungs simply couldn't draw breath anymore and his hearts would ache. Nzambith had called him with hope and he wouldn't answer with defeat.

There was no coaxing that need happen from Venn once he'd grabbed him up and begun walking, in fact the smug appreciation that his own dragon issued from her spot in Nzambith's much larger wallow wasn't even necessary so much as needling. But Ty'bar let it go with a chuckle and almost a yelp when the younger man wormed his way out of his grasp, pulling like he could drag him back into his arms again, even as he was pulled through the open door. He simply didn't want to let go all that long, but he gave a grin and followed instructions as the other greenrider disappeared further into his hut.

"Well, hopefully I live up to the expectations for that sort of distraction." A feral grin crossed his face as he closed the door.

Nzambith wished she could give a soft croon to first Ansheth, then Dhumavath who both succumbed to the thin air and the steep angle, but she barely had energy to keep flying, let alone call out to them. Hopefully they would know she was thankful for them joining her. Only one dragon remained, Haezeth, and Nzambith wished nothing more than to give in and fall into his arms, but still she pressed on. Her body wasn't spent just yet, but it was close, oh so very close.

Finally her wings beat, but were not strong enough to push her body forward. She trembled as her ascent slowed and for a moment she hung in the air, motionless and still, before gravity took hold and she began to fall. She barely had the strength to angle herself down properly and once that was done, she was at the mercy of the sea far, far below and the bronze that remained.

Haezeth...I'm tired, she said very quietly, grey tinging her purple eyes as her body refused to move at all no matter how hard she tried. She wanted to reach out to the shining male that had stuck with her the whole way, but even moving a single talon was too exhausting. Instead she closed her eyes and hoped the bronze had strength enough to save them both, or at the very least himself.

Finally! Despite how she'd been rising and rising with no sign of stopping, it appeared that she had at last begun to wear down, her motions sluggish and slow. At last she hung still in the air as his own wings pulled him higher and higher towards her, claws outstretched as if he could pull her towards him. To his relief it seemed to be the end of her boundless stamina and Haezeth surged forward.

Never fret beautiful one, my wings can carry you as far as you need and as long as you wish. Gently he wrapped around her, twining neck and tail around her as his claws pulled her forward until they were no longer simply two dragons. Just relax your wings and enjoy the ride.

With that his wings angled their fall back towards the shoreline and the safety of the sandy beach Nzambith called home. Might as like give her a scene as they fell together, she had earned that and much more.
