Rolahi had known that Zaleeth was close to flying, she had warned Omurntas the day she told him the good news that she was pregnant. Now this monring she woke up with the cranky green fire in her head which heralded Zaleeth rising to blood her kill.

Rolahi could only be grateful that her dragon could not become pregnant like herself or the whole weyr would rock with hormonal women.

Zaleeth snorted at Rolahi's sass as she finished blooding her kill.

With morning came lessons, but Ansheth was not soundly asleep as O'dyn had expected him to be. Instead, the vigilant bronze stood like a hulking, titan guardian at his ledge, watching over the weyrbowl. The stirrings crept into his mind and body, and the dark haired man tilted his head in due consideration. He had learnt to tune out the worst of flightlust, but it was inconvenient with lessons due to start sooner rather than later.

Don't take too long. We have plenty of things to do today.

Ansheth did not need more urging, springing from his ledge with sudden speed. He grumbled slightly, aware of a flicker of pain in his hind leg from the leap, then focused all of his attention on the beautiful green ahead. I did not expect to see a second sun Rise today. His best attempt at flattery- and definitely not the cringiest thing he had ever thought at another. It was close though. There was still a fair amount of distance to cover, but he would try his best- it was the only way he could be satisfied with himself.

Yurath bugled his challenge out and surged to blood a kill. There were so many greens he would be strong enough to catch a gold after all of this soon!

Anubia swooned and raced to find her weyrmate before she struck at the closest man with flightlust, she had to be very careful.

Another green screamed at him an he faltered a little, there were pretties everywhere! Oh well that would be selath his favorite, she had cause to swear at him then, he purred out to her and lost 3 lengths.

It sounded like the competition had arrived, at last. Ansheth pumped his wings a little faster, mindful of his energy reserves and the distance still between him and Zaleeth. And yet, it seemed almost as if the green danced just out of his reach- he could have sworn if he extended his talons a little bit more, she’d be within his embrace. Alas, the distance separated them still, but the temptation gave him a burst of speed that might have surprised him, had he not been quite so muddy-minded.

The skies are your playground, Zaleeth, and I will pursue you to the stars. He murmured in his ponderous way, giving a small, bassy croon.

Yurath pulled himself into a large looping backflip and gained some ground on the other two. He would secure this green and be the blue king of western yes he would!

Perhaps Ansheth ought to have been more single-minded, for the antics of nearby dragons brushed against his peripheral vision and distracted him. Ansheth found himself veering slightly off-course, then rumbled in apology. Dear Zaleeth, I am terribly sorry. I implore your forgiveness. He beat his wings to a double-measure in an effort to catch up, but already the blue had outstripped him. Foolish, silly bronze! He berated himself mentally for the slip-up.

Zaleeth soared along, giggling at the antics of the two boys following her, she might have only two, but they were the most handsome creatures. Tilting her head and watching she slowed a little, wanting to hear their hearts race as they came from her.

She roared out her challenge.

Yurath's heart skipped a beat when the green slowed getter closer to he and his bronze friend. For some reason, perhaps the odds of this flight he didn't feel nearly so savage as he had previously, if the bronze outflew him then he was earned of the right to catch the green.

The green seemed to get even closer to him, eyeing him before flitting away +2 lengths

It seemed that Zaleeth was not angry with him, for which he was glad. If only Thread were as merciful as you... He praised, although, on second thought, that was perhaps not the cleverest, most charming thing to say. Comparing a Lady to Thread... Oh, the world would be a more brilliant place if you were to fall from the sky- instead of Thread! Wait a second. Was he trying to say he wanted her to fall? Shells. Only that chasing you is infinitely more pleasing than flaming! Wow. This probably made him sound like a coward.

Ansheth shut up at that point in time, riding the thermals to the best of his abilities, eyes on the glowing green ahead with only half a mind for the blue 'king' beside him. He only had a few dragonlengths, and he would prove himself to Zaleeth...
