The first arc of the Outlands vs StormBorn meta has wrapped! Here are some highlights in case you missed the event itself:
Queen Ashiki has been attacked and is in poor condition. She has been stable, if weak, and has successfully delivered a litter of six cubs. She has not been seen in weeks and there is no word on her current state of health.
Prince Kethiwe has been kidnapped by the Stormborn horde along with two other pride members (thralls given out in the event). The vessels have confirmed that he is alive but not much else.
Prince Amachwane (mouselet) is currently the acting regent on his mother’s behalf. He is meeting with the viziers, pride members, and carrying out all necessary duties for the time being.
Katiti’Manina was killed at the beginning of the battle. However, on her 7th day of mourning she was resurrected and sent back by the ancestors. Amachwane has officially addressed the pride on behalf of his mother to announce that they believe the ancestors sent her back because Ashiki was in great need of her. The pride is expected to listen to her, however, they are allowed to be wary. Not being able to ascend to the stars with the ancestors is considered a great misfortune for her soul even if they will all be better off for her presence.
Pride Information Updates
1. The Outlands is currently accepting refugees from the Pridelands due to the winged monster that has attacked their pride. These refugees have been given a place to stay but must trade this for a skill - some of them have chosen to help the pride’s minimal force of healers in the wake of the battle, others have devoted themselves to helping the hunt in order to provide for the pride, while others have become nannies. (If you wish to have a PL member take refuge in the pride, please contact me and let me know.)
2. The Earthquake that ended the battle seems to have caused very little damage apart from some falling rocks. However, the crevice that Ashiki and Ebbe discovered before the Stormborn attack has opened wider and deeper. Currently, it is leaking the foul gas from the underbelly of the Outlands caverns. Most of this is currently drifting across the border to the Pridelands but if your character gets too close to the site they may suffer coughing, mild delusions and lightheadedness. The crevice itself is being guarded as closely as possible without risking the health of the remaining Scars and Shields not injured in battle.
3. The Outlands is currently accepting alliance offers! They are not discounting the possibility of another Stormborn attack and Ashiki has advised her son and her viziers that they must find strength if they hope to face such a large force. Information sources within the pride suggest that the battle they fought was against a very small number of the actual pride members.
If you own a pride and are interested in working out an alliance, please contact me! Outlands can offer warriors for protection, vessels for reading the stars (seers), battle training, etc.
There is a pending alliance in the works with Mirilli’Tavari (the gem pride); they will be trading a couple of arranged marriages and, in addition, Outlands will be sending warriors to their pride in exchange for healers.
There is also a pending alliance with Vita’Alizaliwa (the orc pride).

Rank Updates
1. Squadrons & Claws
In an effort to combat the roaming bands of Stormborn ICly and to help promote deserving Scars and Shields OOCly, we will be creating squadrons within the pride. Squadrons require 1 Claw and 5 Scars or Shields. The Claw will ICly be promoted and assigned to oversee the five characters that will make up their squadron. For your character to be promoted, however, you will have to find these five characters (they can be your own or other player’s) and apply for the promotion in this thread. Unbranded may NOT be a part of a Squadron.
Squadrons will be assigned to defend the borders, roam the rogue lands within a mile radius of the pride, or may also be sent on defense missions to allied prides.
2. Ambassadors & Consuls
While Consuls have always been used for short-term interpride relations, there will not be an official rank for Ambassadors. Any pride with whom the Outlands has an establish alliance will have an Ambassador that either stays with the pride or visits them on a regular basis. For prides that the Outlands is trading members to for services (vessels for visions or warriors for protection) the Ambassador will be required to stay as a makeshift leader in conjunction with the accompanying Claw. Ambassadors will ALWAYS have a Squadron as an escort.
3. Healers
After the battle it has become increasingly clear that the Outlands lacks any good healers apart from the Princess Azisa and the newcomer, Croatoa. Ashiki has allowed her daughter to begin training Healers as a limited pride rank that is on par with Eyes. Skilled Healers may apply to become Keepers. They will have a good force of healers from their alliance with the Gem Pride thus not so many will be needed but it is knowledge the Queen would like incorporated into the pride regardless.
