Griffith was not sure how many days had passed since he and Nara had been ambushed by the group of rogue lions. The time he'd spend with his little one had been full of happiness and joy, and the sounds of cubbish energy and curiosity he had missed for far too long. It seemed in all that had happened, the god of balance had lost track of time.
The injury to his flank was healing well enough. While the injury still remained, it had begun to knit and close, and he did no longer felt the same jolt of pain when he walked on it. It seemed odd that the injury to his forepaw had not healed as well. It still stung when he stepped on it, far more than the slash in his flank ever had.
The god rested on the stone ground, licking the bite on the bottom of his paw, he really wished it would stop itching. A stretch, Griffith rose to his paws, searching nearby for his little one.
"Nara?"
They would have to move on soon, she must be growing restless by now.

It seemed like Nara was nowhere in sight of the den. They had been there for a few days while Griffith healed, and slowly Nara found herself trying to find an outlet while the male rested. Normally that meant exploring the little bit of space outside the den. She had to be careful though, the cave had been situated in an area most mortals couldn't get to, unless they could scale part of a mountain or fly.
Hearing her name, the small cub perked up. Oh. He was up! The cub zoomed her way back into the den, crashing into the male's front paws. Her gauntlets had been placed in the corner of the cave. There was no need for her to wear them right now. "You're up! You're up! You're up!" She bounced.

Outside the den, the purple raven sat on a small ledge. How interesting, a small godlet cub was up on the mountains. Come to think of it, she was seeing more and more deities on earth than she was use to seeing. Perhaps there was a connection between those dancing sky light and them?
Saki found herself shrugging as she swooped to a lower ledge. Oh. She was going in? Her head tilted. What else was in there with her. Her beady eyes glanced towards the cave entrance, watching, waiting. |

Ah, there she was. Griffith smiled, laughing as she ran right into him. One forepaw wrapping around his little one in a hug, hiding the wince when he put weight on his injured paw. His own gauntlets had been left to the side, the dents repaired from the rouge's bite.
"Good morning, little one, did you find anything interesting out there?"
Griffith too was beginning to feel restless, feeling the need to stretch his wings and his limbs. Daring to put weight on his paw, the god walked toward the cave entrance, maybe they could find something to explore nearby, something that did not involve too much walking on his injured paw.
His attention focused on Nara, the god had not noticed the nearby raven.

Nara giggled as she was caught, but shook her head to answer. "Noooo. It's pretty boring up here! When can we go?" The young goddess didn't even know where they were in connection to the Gems pride. She had been gone from it for a while now, perhaps it wasn't worth going back? It meant more time to spend with the god she had begun to see as a parent.
Nara followed Griffith out of the cave, stretching when she got to the entrance. "There's not much here! I mean. I saw a...horned deer thing. It did this little..bahhh thing at me. It was weird." Nara said, describing the goat.

Saki's eyes widened as the larger god exited the cave, followed by the young one she had just seen. Oh, this was truly interesting. The raven found herself wanting to get closer. Even though the gods had been around more often lately, getting close to one was something she never thought she would do.
Saki wore a small bag across her neck. She gathered herbs wherever she traveled.
Her eyes narrowed at the larger god. Was he walking with a limp? Did gods ever get injured?
Spreading her wings, Saki was quick to fly down to the two deities, quickly seizing the paw of Griffith as she quickly inspected it. "Ah. tsk tsk God. What did you do hmmm?" |

"Soon, little one, soon."
He gave her an apologetic look. This cave was not a very exciting place for one so young and full of energy. She was doing her best to entertain herself surely, but she must have been growing very bored and restless. There was little here but themselves, rocks, and a few mountain goats.
"That was a goat, they are not uncommon around here."
He could not help but chuckle at her description of the creature. He supposed they were weird, at least to a goddess cub who had never seen them before.
Whatever else he might have said was cut short as a flash of purple and orange feathers caught his attention. He raised a brow, barely having a moment to wonder what the bird was doing and why it had flown so close before it had hold of his injured paw.
"Hey, ow! What are you doing?"

"Yes, ow, please stop poking.'
Griffith hissed, pulling his injured paw away from the raven's grasp. Blue eyes narrowed, shooting a gaze at the bird that more quizzical than irritation. What a strange creature, he was not certain yet if she was brave or foolish for such actions toward a predator who could have easily eaten her.
"Who are you?"
The god watched the raven, ears twitching as she muttered to herself. Maybe introduce yourself first next time, raven, you will met with less grumpy reactions.
"I would rather not, if you do not mind."

Nara watched as the raven poked and prodded Griffith's paw. Her ears flickered to perk forward, before pinning back, then returned to perked position.
Her mouth made a small o as the raven clarified she wasn't an it, but a she. "Sorry," Nara murmured. She gave Griffith a questioning look that said 'how was I suppose to know?'
Saki ignored the question of who she was, putting the golden flower in her mouth as she huffed. "I do mind." she said in a garbled tone, spreading her wings as she lifted into the air, and quickly out of sight. She returned a few minutes later with a small piece of dried bark that would make do as a bowl, and a small amount of water inside it.
"Are all gods babies like you when it comes to an injury. Sheesh." The raven asked, smushing the flower petals in the liquid to form a thick paste.
"Saki." She finally introduced, retaking Griffith's paw. |

Saki found herself rolling her eyes. "You have eyes, do you not? You could see me doing it." Maybe not all gods were babies, but this one was being one! Sheesh!
After the paste was smudged into the paw pad, the raven released his paw. "You want to keep it unwrapped to let it air out. But that should help with the pain and also help heal faster." She didn't know how long the god had been with it, but it should definitely help. Unless of course, gods healed differently than mortals. Saki rummaged through her bag finding one more flower head. She grabbed it, handing it to Nara.
"Take this in case he needs another dose."
Nara grabbed at the flower, cooing at the golden color. She nodded to the avian, placing the flower on her head, just between her hair tuft and ear. It would be a safe place for it until they returned to the den.
Saki smirked, before turning her head back to Griffith. "A name would be good payment sir." |

"If your tongue or your saliva has not helped it yet, it will NOT help that in the future." Saki found herself chirping angrily. Her eyes narrowed as if to dare the god to do that again. Go on god. Do it. Her beak clicked a few times before she shuffled her bag to her back, just out of wing span.
She glanced between the two, noticing the wide smile on Nara when he called her his daughter. "Well, Griffith, Nara. It's a pleasure. Nara," She turned towards the young Fidelity. "If he licks that paw again, you have full permission to knock that helmet of his off his head and let it roll down the mountainside." She dared.
Nara giggled at the suggestion. Now that she mentioned it...
"What is under your helmet, dad?" She asked with a curious glance towards the other. Saki took the opportunity to fly up in the air, leaving the two gods to their mountain. |
