[prp] Something new. [Kindu, Amiari, Cloveth]

It was one of those sunny sort of days where it wasn’t too hot to play outside, but playing in the water was still preferred, Kindu reflected. Today would be an excellent day to be a dolphineer, or even a fish. Fish got to spend their whole lives swimming, until someone ate them. Whether it was dolphin or human, it didn’t matter. Thinking about this made Kindu frown. He didn’t want to be a fish, to be caught and eaten.

A dolphineer was much better.

“Momma, you’ll be the dolphin today!” He was still getting used to forming that word. Momma. It had a different feel to it than most words. Maybe because most were things that weren’t real—pretend was easy! But not with that word. That word was something special, and now he had one all his own. Well. He had siblings too... but they were bigger! So she was sort of all his own?

“Cloveth has to play, too!”

It was shaping up to be a good day. Her kids were off doing their own things, and Ezyzu had snagged some time with Kalari. Which left the greenrider with her newest child, little Kindu. Seven was a full plate, yet the love in her heart wanted to take all she could under her wings to be safe and loved. But to do that, she needed to get to know her newest son first. What a better day than today to be down by the water to play and have fun?

“A dolphin, dearest?” A watchful mother’s eye was constantly on Kindu while they were so close to the coast. The ocean was fun, but it still nibbled at her to constantly be vigilant. “What of Cloveth?”

Oh, oh, yes. What will I be, little one? Cloveth trilled, laying down in the sand around the child--even nestling in the sun-warmed sand so she had to look up at Kindu with wide, bright eyes.

Cloveth? He hadn't thought about what she could be. She was one of the best dragons in all Pern, only tied by Khamaith. "You can be my momma dragon," he decided. He went over to the green and hugged her nose. "You gotta help me be a dolphineer," he said. "Momma is a wild dolphin and we need to teach her all sorts of things dolphins need to know! They talk, you know."

He was very excited to show the green how much he knew, but even more than that, he was excited that the green wanted to play with him.
