Sometimes He and His were too much alike. So sometimes, they needed to have time apart. Sukai knew this, so when His N'dir sent him away for the morning -Sukai, I just need you to go. Go make friends, be a dragon. Something. I will find you later. though His had stroked his eye ridges as he said that, to take the sting from his words and show it wasn't a punishment, or anything bad really.- He knew it just meant they needed to have some time apart. He was okay with that, truly. It was only right.
But Sukai didn't really understand what His N'dir expected of him. He wasn't the most social of Bronzes, and didn't really have many friends, nor was it easy for him to go up to others ad introduce himself to try to make friends, so the socialising was out. And there weren't that many -dragony- things he could do. So the shiftless bronze didn't know what to do. Perhaps a trip to the beach was in order.
He liked the water, and the sand. It felt so good against his scales. Yes. the beach sounded like a good idea. With a clear thought and destination and plan in mind, he made his way to a favorite spot. Beach was a good idea.
But just as he had that thought, he noticed the rather dejected form of a brown who had been there before him. Head hanging, and wings just all over the place like he didn't care. Normally blue eyes whirled yellow with some concern. This didn't look right. He made his way carefully to the side of the rather pathetic looking brown. Is something wrong?

Truly he was the most unfortunate dragon on all of Pern, to not be allowed to climb into bed with his rider. F'ell had always let him cuddle before (when he was maybe an eighth of his current size), but now that he was bigger life had become so hard. So very hard and so very lonely and oh - OH!!! SOMEONE WAS HERE NOW!!! Almost instantly the brown's head swirled up and over, his eyes bright blue with merriment and excitement. This was someone new, a new friend!! Someone had come to check on him after all!
All dragons knew one another's names, that much Teth was aware of, and as he looked at Sukaidith the brown shifted to get into a faintly better position. Mine sent me away. He said he wanted to sleep and he didn't want me to cuddle with him!! Teth's voice held so much woe and sorrow despite the blue in his eyes. A few flecks of yellow mixed themselves in, giving his multifaceted eyes the appearance of gems. It makes me so sad and lonely! Does he hate me now?
There was, of course, no way that F'ell would ever hate Teth, but the brown tended to run dramatic at best.

From dejected to merry to... well, Sukai didn't know what to think of what ever emotion the brown - Teth, he realised - was showing. He changed so fast, it made the poor bronze's head spin. Seeing another in pain, be it physical or emotional, made him want to help, but to see it change so fast... he just couldn't keep up. Such a flighty brown. But still... perhaps there was something he could still do.
He cautiously took a seat on the sand next to Teth. It was sad when Theirs did not want them around, for sure, but to think that they hated them.... He just couldn't see how that was possible. Unless it was a bad match, but that didn't seem to be the case here...
Then he heard what Teth was saying and let out a deep breath. So simple a problem. The brown was merely overreacting. His first instinct was to state his conclusion, but he got the feeling that perhaps that wouldn't be the best idea.
Maybe...maybe he just needs some time?Sukai hesitantly said. Mine tossed me out for that. It doesn't mean they hate us.
He shuffled a bit awkwardly. And slowly stretched his wing out to brush lightly against the Brown. Its a nice day. Enjoy a swim and then go and see if Yours is ready to see you again?
