[PRP] I'm Home (Ahna x Sethunya)

Ahna was surprised she'd made it back home at all. She was still injured, but a small caravan from Nil'nocere helped her, patched her up, so she could return home. She'd lost all of her belongings, even the things she had managed to get for Sethunya.

She was exhausted, though, just wanting to find her mate and curl up away from the outside world. She felt like she held her own pretty well, but everything still hurt and she wanted to cry.

She limped along, frustrated the state of her self. She wished she couldn't have gotten that caravan to escort her back in, but that wouldn't have been safe for them either.

She didn't make it as far as she would have liked before she had to sit, body sagging a bit as she rested.

Sethunya had never had someone in her life that she cared about until Ahna. Not having the orange lioness by her side made her feel empty and alone. The feeling magnified each day. When Ahna first left, Seth would remind her self that Ahna would have some fun out there, but with each day pessimistic thoughts came to Seth. The last night she had a dream of that evil lion stalking her beloved Ahna. Through out the day she had to remind herself that it was just a dream and nothing more.

She traveled the route she had been prone to using since arriving. Since Ahna left she found herself pacing it in her worried state. The area was relaxing to her.

As she walked it, she saw a sight that she would have thought she would only see in her nightmares. She blinked, hoping that she was just seeing things. But there her Ahna was, hurt and injured. Seth stopped her leisurely walked and bolted to her mate’s side.

“What the in the gods’ name happened to you?” she asked, her usual calm demeanor shattered. She could curse at herself for not going with Ahna. Her mate did nothing to deserve this.

The relief Ahna felt upon seeing Seth was almost a physical manifestation of it. She nearly sobbed upon seeing her mate, collapsing into her mate's side as soon as she was close enough.

Ahna whimpered softly, body trembling. She couldn't quite believe she had made it home to her mate. It had been days since she started walking. She was very fortunate that she had help back to the pride borders though, but the rest of the trip had been absolute agony.

"I was ambushed," She answered after she could finally grasp her bearings. Her voice was a little shaky with emotions she was trying to hold in from the entire ordeal, only willing to be vulnerable around her mate and not around strangers, especially after she was attacked.

She was glad she was home, though.

An ambush? Seth thought as she held back a growl. The idea that someone would harm her sweet Ahna made her furious. She wanted nothing more then to ask Ahna question after question to find out who did this to her, but Seth knew that now was not the time. Ahna needed her. At this moment there was nothing that would pull her away from Ahna’s side.

Seth gentle nuzzled Ahna, wanting to make her mate feel better. “You are safe here love. I will not let anything happen to you, not now and not later. I swear on the gods that I will find who did this to you and get revenge. I will make them regret ever harming you.”

The pride wasn’t too far away. There was certainly someone in the pride who could help with Ahna’s wounds. The question though was if Ahna could make it the rest of the way. “Would you like to rest for a little bit?” Seth asked, looking into her mate’s eyes.

Ahna wasn't sure if her shaking was more from relief or from the lingering fear she felt from the roguelands. She was definitely still in pain, and she felt as if the pain would never fade. She buried herself closer to Seth, unable to respond to the declaration of revenge. She wasn't sure if she wanted revenge or if she wanted to keep Seth close to her to protect her. She wanted the ones who hurt her to suffer as she did, but her heart seized in fear at the idea that her mate would leave.

She took a shaky breath, listening to Seth's heartbeat to try to calm herself. This was real, and she was home. She did look into her mate's eyes with the question. "Rest... please," she practically begged, hating how desperate and afraid she sounded, and how relieved she felt at the idea of rest.

Seth watched her mate, doing her best to get back to being calm. Ahna did not need her charging off into battle right now. Her mate needed her by her side, to tend and support her. However, she would never forget about the monsters who did this to her sweet Ahna, until they were dead on the ground.

Without realizing it, she had tensed up as the thoughts of revenge-fueled her mind. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Right now her thoughts should be on Ahna and Ahna alone.

“Let’s stay here then until some of your strength returns then. Is there anything I can get for you? Water, food?” she asked, though the thought of leaving Ahna’s pained her. Ahna’s comfort was a higher priority “Anything you want I will get you.”

Ahna made a fearful noise at the thought of Seth leaving her side. "Don't leave," She begged, trembling as she pressed closer. She hated feeling like this, she felt weak. She felt as if she would shatter like dry bone against her mate,

She was sure if an immediate threat came along, she would be able to fight. The adrenaline would take over. But right now, in the safety of her mate's paws, she didn't even want to think about the possibility. She knew Seth would fight for her.

She breathed against her mate's neck, taking in the comforting scent to help her trembling cease.

Seth's ears turned back. Gently she put a paw on Ahna, trying what she could to make her mate comfortable. “I won't leave you. If you need anything we can go together. We will be safer that way anyways.” It took all her strength to keep her voice calm. Right now she needed to be strong for Ahna.

“Lay down with me,” Seth suggested, looking around to find a good place for them to rest. “You can rest while I keep watch. I will make sure nothing will happen to you. And later if you are feeling a little better we can do a quick hunt. You must be hungry.”

When they got home and once Ahna was less shaken about what happened they would have to talk about her going out of the pride alone. She knew first had how dangerous it was, but she never thought someone would harm her Ahna.

Ahna could feel her body slowly stop shaking. She felt a little better, and so much safer with Seth so close to her. Seth's words brought her comfort, as she pressed close to her mate's side.

The spot they found was shaded by trees, more sheltered than being exposed to the rogue lands and elements. Security was very important to Ahna right now, and would be for the foreseeable future. The prospect of going back out into the rogue lands at all was daunting. There was a relief in laying down with her mate.

She wasn't sure if she could do her job anymore. She would have to change careers if she couldn't. The thought of continuing made her stomach sick. She was very fortunate that a wandering healer had found and helped her. She didn't think she would have made it back - at least not so easily.

Ahna gave a weak smile to her mate. "You always know how to make me feel better, Love," She heaved a sigh, future somewhat uncertain at this point. Perhaps it would look better after a nap with her mate by her side.
