The little god lay still, the rise and fall of his chest barely visible, his breath hard and ragged. It was perhaps fortunate for him that Hilda had not looked closer, if she had she might have seen he still lived despite his injuries, despite the darkness that still held him.

Eventually Judeau would wake, would crawl off to find safety and a place to heal. His body would recover, but the deepest cuts would never heal, his trust forever broken, and he would never be the same.
