Nearly four months had passed since R'ose became a rider, and while sometimes it felt like just yesterday other times - like this exact moment - let him know that it wasn't yesterday. His little sweet dragonet, a tiny mint baby he'd been able to carry (for all of a sevenday) was now much too large to be carried, let alone fit in his arms, and there was quite a bit of her to be oiled and cleaned. Part of him was forever thankful she'd likely be a small green, though Sahrawith had grumbled that being tiny meant trouble when it came to flying.
Small body means small wings, and small wings means little speed. She'd said, or something to that effect. R'ose had been trying to rub away a particularly stubborn patch of flaking skin, and he sighed as he leaned against his most wonderful lifemate.
"So glad you're not a bronze, Sawi. So glad." If she'd been any bigger at this stage in life it was likely R'ose would have felt his soul leave his body sevendays ago. There was still more of her to clean and oil, but a small break never hurt anyone.
