Some place deep inside of her herself Xibalba rested, her mind wandering further away from her body as she searched herself for answers to questions she wasn't ready to openly ask. It was a little hard to believe that just a few days ago Maya was here. What... what would she be without her? What would she do? Could she live her own life and trust that Maya was doing the same? It was hard living with this guilt. Xibalba was a murderer after all, her sister had no mother because Xibalba killed her. She didn't feel guilt for the murder, no, she had no sympathy for the devil after all, she instead felt guilt for leaving Maya behind.
But she knew with time it would be the right thing, for the both of them. Or... at least she could hope that it was, Only time would tell at this point.
Her golden eyes narrowed to open as she tilted her head slowly, glancing back at the God that was now staring at her. She was so lost in thought she almost hadn't noticed him. How... strange.
"Yes?" She blinked, unmoved by his immortal appearance. Though she sat hidden in her own disguise she felt no fear in showing her true form. Perhaps she would if she needed to. What was his deal? He hadn't spoken a word.
He just... watched.
"Mmm?" She felt her words get stuck in her throat. This was a really awkward way to introduce ones self. She moved herself from her perch and jumped down to greet him, smiling slightly as she walked closer. He was something else- she had never seen this God before. What was his deal? what did he want? She frowned and spoke again.
"You know, if I didn't know any better I'd think you were spying on me."
Did he know who she was?

"Ahh, the silent type." As she spoke she laughed, the irony of this chance meeting not lost on her. She couldn't ask him his name or what he was doing, so she decided to introduce herself instead. The lioness closed her eyes and stepped back; it only took a moment for the glamour to vanish leaving behind her true self, the creature that she was underneath it all. All of her eyes now stared at him intensely, her wings shot back behind her body like antlers stretching forward facing him so that she could seem him entirely. She blinked, all eyes and one before speaking again.
"My new friend, this should be interesting. Let's see what we can figure out." She wasn't a monster, not like her physical appearance might make one believe, she was fairly well spoken and had a sort of nuance to her that felt older somehow. Xibalba never judged a book by it's cover. She didn't run from him nor did she flinch at his mouth, no matter how ghastly it might have been. She knew what it was like living life looking a certain way. If anything she found some solace in his face.
"If I answer something correctly nod your head for me, alright?" The Goddess stood right in front of him now, her own eyes covered by her messy mane. Still, she could see him just fine thanks to her wings; they were like her second sight, in truth she hardly needed to open her own anymore. The eye on her chest was closed, so if he took the time to look her over all he would see was a vertical scar in it's place.
She felt strange being seen this way, Xibalba felt extremely hideous in truth. Perhaps that was why she hid herself away from the world as often as she did. But...
She didn't think he was the judgmental type. At least he couldn't say anything rude even if he wanted to. This was a comforting thought.

Acelan's pale eyebrows rose as took a step back and let her glamour fade from her mortal form. It was unexpected, he had to admit, and for a moment all he could do was let his eyes drift from one eyes to the next, drinking in the ghastly appearance that stood before him. There was no judgement though - in fact, he smiled as widely as the stitches allowed him to - for he realized quite suddenly that they were kindred spirits.
That didn't happen often, not for him. If he had been able, he would have told her just how glorious he found her like this.
He let his own wings flare up and out in a show of pride and pleasure. As the sunset feathers rose high to the sky it pulled the strands of beads taught but not a single one made a sound - not from the tips of his antlers to the hanging strings of his wings. The stitches were, at best, only meant to make his faults obvious.
In regards to her question, he simply nodded.
Then, nearly as an afterthought, he reached a paw forward and scrawled a neat, blocky print into the dirt between them - Acelan.

"Interesting." the beastly Goddess grinned as the God offered his own name, without spoken words, without a voice. Her wings closed against her sides as the female glanced over once, eyeing him up and down.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, oh God of Silence." her voice was raspy and uneven, shifting between light and dark.
"It's been sometime - seeing another deity in the flesh like this, I often try to avoid the divine. Their drama can be very overwhelming." Xibalba spoke as if she never enjoyed partaking in it herself, what a lie.
Slowly she settled herself closer to him, brightly lit eyes shielded behind long dark bangs. What could she say to this God of Silence? Perhaps words alone wouldn't make the mark. "Are you apart of a pride?" the question was harmless, many Gods hid themselves in mortal flesh, perhaps he was he different.
