Kurago had been traveling with a pair of jackals who had lost their two pups. There had been no trace of the pups anywhere so the trio came to the conclusion that the darker side of nature had taken its course and the pups were likely eaten. What the trio didn't know was that a certain member of the stormborn had stolen them away and gifted the pups to his two daughters. It didn't matter anymore as life needed to continue on with or with out their little ones.

Kurago had agreed to allow the pair to travel with him after helping the grief stricken parents get back on their paws. The two had proven to be amazing companions being able to scout out herds to hunt and safe places to sleep and in turn Kurago supplied a good amount of muscle to intimidate much larger predators than the two jackals. All three benefited from this arrangement and all three honored their end of the bargain.

It was on a particularly over cast day that Kurago had woken up before the two jackals and decided to wander on a little on his own. Mostly, so that he could gather his own thoughts and get a little alone time. He was finding alone time to be a rare commodity as of late, and he wasn't complaining, but it was nice to have some one on one time with ones self.

The land seemed to get a little dryer as he padded on. Kurago chose to ignore this and padded on forward. It wasn't until the strong stench of lion that he stopped mid step. This wasn't no mans land anymore. There was a pride up ahead and there was no telling what sort might already have their eyes set on him. The large orange lion looked onward and tilted his head wondering just what kind of lions would want to claim such a land.

Kelda had dueled out of her Unbranded training. The fight actually shocked her really. She was not a fighter, it was partly a reason she left the stormborn. She had never gone on Vikings, and never had the ambition to become a Reaver. How she ended up in a place like the Outlands still amazed her, but here she was.

Once officially a ranked lioness, Kelda found herself choosing the path of an Eye. She loved to learn, and that seemed the lesser of the strength rolls within the pride.

She sat near a termite hill, eyes narrowing as she spotted an unknown male nearing the borders. She wouldn't fight him, but she could sure make her presence known.

Kelda listed herself up, heading towards the brighter colored male. "You there," she called out. "You're getting close to a pride's territory."

It wasn't surprising to Kurago that he was approached by a lion. After all, he was lurking by the boarder and he could have been a threat for all they knew. Kurago offered a small grin to this female as she approached.

"I mean no harm. I realize that is probably hard to believe with me very clearly lurking at your border but I assure you it is the truth." He took a few calculated steps towards her being sure to make sure there was enough distance between them that he posed no threat. Kurago was all to aware of his size and that it might intimate others.

"I'm merely passing through no lions land and stumbled upon your borders. I am guessing you don't let travelers through freely?" He looked hopeful. Maybe he'd be allowed to take a look but then again probably not. Never hurt to double check.

Oh good. He meant no harm.

Well, he said that, but did he truly mean it? It wasn’t as if Kelda could actually take on this lion. He was bigger than her, which was a feat itself coming from the former stormborn’s lineage. The dark lioness felt herself shrugging slight to his response. “You have not given me a reason not to believe you yet…so I will trust you…for now.” After all, she really wasn’t a fighter. She liked to learn. Everyone had something to offer.

“You crossed into the territory not too far back. We do not, know.” Especially when there were young ones still roaming around. It was a precaution for the pride. “Might be your lucky day. If you met with a Scar, Claw or worse, the Monarch’s Claw, you might be running for the hills.” She joked, shaking her head.

“It would be in your best interest to turn back. I can escort you out so not to cause a ruckus with other members.”

"You're all too kind to offer the escort. I am glad I did not run in to a more ..." He didn't want to be insulting but the first word that came to mind was 'aggressive' which Kurago wouldn't say would be accurate as he was on their border with out permission, "...warrior minded type." was what Kurago came up with instead.

"Would you be willing to tell me about your kind here in these pride lands? I am curious to know what territories are friendly and which ones I should probably steer clear of. It's how I survived so long mostly on my own." He was already on all fours and stationed to start walking the other way , away from the pride.

Kelda chucked.

"This pride? Er --" She paused, thinking. How to speak of the Outlands? Should she just willy nilly speak of it? "To be honest, I am actually pretty new to the pride. We are called Outlanders. The descendants of the Great Taka." It was obvious she had recited that line a few times in her mind.

"Any new comers get the rank of..Unbranded. They are trained and tested in a duel, and if we win, we get ranked up right then and there. Otherwise, you go through a vigorous training for a while until you are deemed okay to serve the pride well." She shrugged slightly. "Luckily I learned a lot from the Stormborn lands, so I could get out of the training more quickly."

"I wouldn't say we are...unfriendly persay...Some are just more inclined to a fight." She shook her head. "Where are you from?"

"Outlanders," He repeated carrying no weight in the way he said it. He merely wanted to remember what pride was set up with in these lands and saying it out loud put an impression on his memory. "So, your pride is that of a warriors pride. Sounds quite noble." He observed as Kelda explained the basics of the pride to him. There was a good streak of warrior with in Kurago's soul which made the lion empathize a lot more with the ways of the pride described to him.

"Inclined to fight is not unfriendly. I agree fully with you." He did not want her to think he meant offense so he was quick to try to fix what it was that he had said.

The question of his origin had him take a moment.

"I was never born to a pride or part of one so I can not say there is a particular place I call home. I am merely a curious traveler who seems to get mixed up in things from time to time," He was referring to the troubled jackals who usually were by his side. He hadn't meant to adopt them as companions but that was how things shook out.

"One thing I have never experienced is life with in a pride. All prides I have come across are so different. I don't know if I'll ever fully understand prides but I admire them." He grinned. "So thank you so much for indulging my curiosities."

Kelda's steps slowed as they got closer to the border of the pride. "I always wondered what it would be like to have the world as your entire home." The Outlander said thoughtfully. "There is so much to see. Just from the travel from the Myrsky Syntynyt lands here was a complete one-eighty." If she had the drive to become a reaver formerly, she could have seen it, while still having a place to call home.

"Prides are indeed different...But there seem to be an inkling of the same thing in all of them." The Outlands and Stormborn were pretty similar when she thought of it. They both dueled, the both had some kind of lone leader. The minor differences; Outlands stayed put and Stormborn moved with their viking trips.

She shook her head, grinning. "No worries." As they crossed the small path separated by a small water source, Kelda made sure to point it out. "If you ever find yourself in this area again, this is your indicator of our territory." Beyond the water, Outlands. Just before it, no lion's land, as the male put it.

Kurago merely grinned as she talked about her travels through the no lions land.

"See, to me, a pride has the same mystery. I feel we both know our souls lead us to where we must be with in our place in this life. I feel a wanderlust and maybe one day that will leave me... but until then." His grin turned in to a toothy smile, "I suppose its another paw in front of another until I find something that can plant me down. Maybe that will never happen."

The two were approaching a small water source. He took a good mental note of its position in case he was to find him self near by yet again.

"Well thank you... erm... Okay so usually .. I might pretend like I knew your name but I hate that game. Names Kurago. Can I know what they call you?"

"Well then, I hope you find that special thing that can keep you tied down." She grinned, sitting near the border while the male continued on. She was happy to find her home here. There was a wealth of knowledge within the pride she had yet to unlock.

Her ears perked forward. "Oh." They had started their conversation while walking, introductions just escaped her.

"Kelda'satu," she introduced. She was named as a dreamer, and boy did it fit her sometimes. "Kelda, suits me just fine though." She gave the male a warm smile. It was obvious Kelda didn't have the same fierceness of her Outlander pridemates, but if everyone was alike, then the pride would fall.

"I wish you luck on your travels. Be mindful if you ever decide to wander this way again. Perhaps if you are in the area again, find a smaller creature to find me for an escort, eh?" She flashed a smile, before turning away from the male, and heading back into the pride.

"Kelda." He repeated so he would remember it. The name was a good one as far as he was concerned. Inwardly, he was thankful that she shortened her name not that Kelda'satu was a bad name, but less was good for the memory.

"I will be sure to do so. It would be cool to get to know more about you and your pridelands and ... maybe I'll know more next time too or have a story to swap," He rested a paw thoughtfully under his chin, "Well, Kelda, I do not want to keep you away from your heartlands too long. I will say until next time for now," He offered a bow of his head in thanks for her help and turned to start his search once again. Those two jackals were always wandering off but he supposed they had the right. They were his companions. Not his pets.
