{ORP} Join a Party

(This is an ORP for anyone who wants to join and wish the twins Vosin and Vesin a happy birthing day! Family, friends, and well-wishers are all welcomed to stop by. Everyone is encouraged to be social and mingle. There are small finger foods/snacks to munch on, and a variety of drinks. Nothing too fancy so as not to over tax the kitchens, but enough for a small party. ^_^ You can bring something if you want but it’s not required or expected.)


It had been a joint effort for the twins. They shared the same Birthing Day after all. They had been born together and they celebrated together. Vosin had been the one to inquire with the kitchen staff is a few easy to make finger foods could be supplied for their small party. Vesin had gotten tables and Vosin made sure the platters of finger foods were arranged to best display each.

On a table nearby was her gifts for her twin, and she smiled thinking of them. They would be opened later of course. For now the day was drawing to a close, and a soft gentle breeze rustled through the trees surrounding their outdoor party. Vosin wondered if anyone beside immediate family would stop by or even join in. Some turns they did, and some turns they didn’t.

She glanced up at the reddening sky. There’d be a glorious sunset tonight. Vosin turned toward her twin. “Happy Birthing Day Vesin!”

A party was never the first place someone would look to find the redheaded Wingsecond. Unless it was her birthday, or someone she was throwing the party for. In this case, it was both. Even as the last of things were in place; food, lighting for after the sun set, and gifts. Vesin looked towards the table where the small present she had gotten for her sister lay as she wondered what her sister might have thought of this year.

As Vosin turned towards her, her hands paused in their work as she turned to look into a face that almost mirrored hers, almost. Ves took each of her sister's hands in hers and smiled. "Happy Birthing Day Vosin. Twenty-five never looked so good." She bumped into her sister's side. "We always have and always will make a good team." The more reserved twin stated as she looked over what they had accomplished.

Marinel had heard it was Vosin’s birthingday from someone, he couldn’t remember who. It didn’t matter, he should have asked the goldrider himself, he thought. D’mar probably wouldn’t have approved of this lapse in memory. Birthingdays had stopped being important to him, once he’d been separated from his brother. But this was different. It all was, they’d been able to celebrate things together.

And Vosin had her twin to celebrate with, too. He’d made sure to bring Vesin something, too. He’d carved both of the riders a wooden dragon, but while he’d carefully painted the one for
Vosin so it resembled Killakeeth, he didn’t know Vesin. He didn’t know what color she rode. The dragon he’d made for her was smooth wood, prepared for paint. He’d offer to paint it later.

He’d brought a gift for Killakeeth too. G’nik, a bluerider who’d been an apprentice weaver before Impressing, had tried showing him the basics. The result wasn’t altogether pretty. A plush dragon with uneven legs and green buttons for eyes was held in one arm. The fabric he used was a soft yellow, the seams showed in places... Weavercraft wasn’t for him.

The woman laughed at her twin's sally for how old they were. "Another Turn gone. Mother and Father would be so proud of you Vesin. Since they aren't here to say it, allow me to in their stead." Vosin bumped affectionately back. It was a night to enjoy. "I'll drink to that!" She grabbed a couple glasses, pouring wine for both, and offering a toast.

"To my sister that is and will always be my better half." Vos grinned and tossed back her drink. She was about to pour another, when a familiar face joined the currently small party. "Mari! How good to see you tonight. Come and join us! Mari, this is my twin, Vesin. Vesin, this is Mari, the candidate Killakeeth has taken a liking to."
